Add a lack of applicants, bogus injuries, a liberal civil service commission, massive oversight, and forced overtime. I worked this job and do not recommend it to anyone.
Steve talks of maintaining a good appearance while being interviewed in a tee-shirt. I started corrections with every intention to learn the job and do it right. I learned staff slept with inmates, brought them in contraband, and helped them escape. So many of us get arrested, that cops hated our guts. They wrote us parking tickets while we worked. Corrections is the bottom rung of law enforcement. Even the public dislikes us. The forced overtime, and brass siding with inmates, had me happier quitting than getting hired. Everything was racial. If you have a pulse, you'll get this job. Then you'll deliver food to inmates while thinking you're a cop.
Sorry you had such a bad experience when working in Corrections Sir. This Career isn't for everyone! The tee-shirt is one of our GUARDIAN RFID shirts that says One Team One Mission.
Working in the jail is the last thing I want to do but local sheriff's office has a ton to offer and I want to work in patrol but they require at least 1 year of working in the jail before the jail
Prisons are out of control due to understaffing, low pay and guards on the take

Most thankless job out there. Sad.
Great interview. Watch your back. Have your radio for officer assault. Known where your at. Call that fight on the radio

Always good to try and attract people. It's such a hard field but with many rewards...

Thanks for watching Mr. Ryan
As a former CO on a state level, that comes with the job lol. Talking with your hands serves multiple purposes in that profession.
