Saw them play in a pub in Stockholm before they got signed. Over some beers, I told them they would become huge, but they weren't totally convinced. If you happen to read this guys, thanks for a great gig!

They played Stockton Globe Theatre too which is a decent venue; ATG who run it and run a lot UK theatres are pretty decent to deal with regarding tickets. Hopefully, they come back. Or at least somewhere close. Newcastle City Hall might not be big enough for them now either. 02 Ritz Manchester would be great despite the travel.

The Twilight Sad
I'd probably say they're better than Fontaines at the moment but Fontaines are earlier in their career. Maybe I'd settle for The Twilight Sad being the best Scottish band of the new century, think I'd take Wolf Alice over both though at the moment.

Everything about Fontaines DC is deadly. I love the way each time you listen it's little subtle things you notice, love their Irishness & involve Gaelige in their words. Look up what Grian's name in Irish, it means valleys of the sun! Every album is different & they work hard. They've covered Nick Drake's Cello Song, Whipping Boy's song Twinkle of the album 'Heartworm' which is a great Dublin band that didn't get the recognition they deserved. Breeze a fresh air & just what a lot of us where looking for. Being a Dubliner I'm so proud 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💚💚💚🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

Im in my early 60s and am as passionate about music today as I was when I was 18 yrs old. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had bands like PIXIES/NIRVANA/SIMPLE MINDS/JOY DIVISION/ to name but a few in my life and been from Dublin i am still in touch with the local music scene...I bought FDC debut album the day it was available at my music shop and never looked back..i just knew this Band was so special from the get go.,,A Band to be treasured.

Got to see them open for AM in Seattle and Portland and absolutely loved it. This is the perfect song to close with but I almost wish they played it earlier in the set because people get so into and I think people who aren't necessarily fans realize how good they are with this song alone.

Saw them in Melbourne a year ago, gig was originally scheduled for 2020 in a small pub venue that holds about 500 people. Kept getting rescheduled but eventually it happened. Obviously they blew up since then but rhey honoured the original gig and played it while also selling out a 2k seater venue the following night. So amazing to see them in such a small venue as i know it wont happen again.
