Build an Automated Fairground Shooting Gallery

- In this video, I'll explain how I built a Target Gallery Shooting Range, as you might find at a carnival funfair. Unlike those stalls, which are typically manned by an attendant, this one is designed to automatically release a prize when all the targets have been knocked down. You can use nerf guns, ping pong balls, elastic band guns, or many other projectiles to hit the targets, which means you can theme this prop for different styles of escape room, school fetes, and lots of other events!
It uses a set of limit switches - one behind each target - wired together in series. When they are all pressed (i.e. the corresponding targets have all been knocked down), they form a circuit that energises a relay, causing a cabinet-style maglock to eject its catch, releasing the prize.

really interesting! Thanks for reminding me that not every project needs a microcontoller haha
That’s also my thoughts…was waiting for the code😂
Very interesting, can't wait for the next build!
Great job!
I just built one of these, but using a magnet on the target and a reed switch... limit switches are a much better idea... Great work as always
Video or it never happened....
You have one of the best explanation how boards work thanks for that ,i like to Trigger servo to move in time with talking skull . Whats the best way to do this and best boards to use ive seen board on sparkfued is their a cheaper way ? Thanks for your help
It'd be cool if there was a latch that caught the target when it knocked down- incase they hit hard enough it wanted to bounce back...then, remotely you could control that latch to release them...for extra pizzaz, have them released in sequence like dominos..so it looks cool. A spring thingy under tension on the padles hinge has just enough force to pop them back up.
What if i just shoot the teddy?
I just found a dart blaster that has a lock, requiring a combination before being able to fire the darts. Combining that blaster with a puzzle like this could be great! Maybe I'm making a wild west themed room next.....
