Hi everyone! A portion of my video seems to have gotten deleted during the upload process. I guess I'll save those tips for part 2! Cheers! What are your lesson plan ideas when the teacher leaves none? Let me know below...
I love the video + questions tip. Unfortunately where I sub, usually they don't leave a computer to hook up to the projector screen. But if I could somehow rig up a student laptop to work for this, it's a solid strategy!
Nothing stresses me out more than when I show up and there's no sub plans. Like, what the heck do you want me to teach them for 6 hours? And these kids have several different books that they work out of, some of them try to lie to you as if you're dumb, everybody has to go to the bathroom, and many of the students are transferring in and out of the classroom and going to various different teachers throughout the day. Seriously stress-inducing! Thankfully, it has only happened about two times so far. I will be avoiding those last minute calls because of this. But if you have a planned absence with no sub plans, you seriously suck! 😅
I used to fill the the board with jumbled words I would tell them it was Russian but soon they'd figure it out then we could spend the bunch of time figuring them out also have some brain twisters and riddles, sometimes I would spend 20 minutes taking attendance, Because you have to eat time without plans.
One time I got called in late. I got there and the next door teacher asked me, "Did she leave a sub plan?" I told her, "I don't know, they just called me in, and I haven't found any". She kept asking me the same thing and I kept responding the same thing. Then she said, "So yes or no?" I said, "no", but like really? You're going to interfere, be completely unhelpful, and get me more stressed?!

Great idea to write down the questions as they watch the video.
Yes!! My goal is to never plan outside of work hours.

And none require bringing extra materials. Excellent!
