Guang Yang - Nacht und Träume by Schubert (CSOTW, 21th June 1997)

Guang Yang (杨光) performing "Nacht und Träume" by Schubert during the final of the 1997 Cardiff Singer Of The World competition.
The Chinese mezzo-soprano went on to win the Main Prize that year and subsequently won the 2001 Operalia competition.
Guang Yang's engagements included Amneris in Aida at the Deutsche Oper, Berlin, and many returns to the Canadian Opera Company, where she appeared in Don Carlos, Die Walküre and Götterdämmerung.
She also collaborates with symphony orchestras and conductors around the world, singing the lead in Verdi's Requiem, Mahler's C Minor Second Symphony and Symphony No. 8 in E Flat Major, among many others.
