This video is from 1984, when the ABC's Towards 2000 program reported on a remarkable new development: - the world's first wristwatch computer or as we call them, smartwatch.
Sporting a massive 4000 characters of memory, this device could tell the time, act as an address book, function as a calculator and play games. It could be programmed to run simple software applications.
Wristwatch computers have come a long way since 1984, but one bit of advice in this story still holds true even now. Next year’s model will be even better!
