very good as always, I think it works really well when Mônica is part of the episode they are a fantastic couple
Thanks Sandro!🙋🏻♀️
A long time follower here. From NZ. Anyone watching, please recommend this incredible, and hugely entertaining channel to every person you know. Because Freddie and Monika are awesome. Content. Charm. Pure relatability. These two deserve a proper following. 1M should be just the start. For those who have watched these guys for YEARS, just think of the joy. And tell your friends.
The quality of your work is remarkable. So enjoyable and easy to watch and follow along. I can actually easily watch it with my elderly parents as well. And that is a compliment! I did the wild Atlantic way all the way round on my bike in 2018 I think it was. Also went through the lake district where I stayed a week and then to Ireland via Scotland with the ferry. And then I headed the same way. Didn't have a drop of rain fall on me during my whole trip in the three weeks I was gone. Every Irish man told me they weather hadn't been that good since 1976 I think it was. 😄 Well, every Irish man old enough to know that. Take care.
always a pleasure coming home from work and relaxing with a new FD video !
Wonderful coverage as usual of your first road trip in the Jeep! Monica does a great job filming and your summary of the trip keeps me fully focused and wanting more!
I’m from the sea port of Larne where the ferry lands in Ireland. While I am aware the rush up to see your granny we have the most wonderful road out of Larne the A2 which mostly hugs the Coast and features many small villages and towns that lots of visitors never get to see and gets you up to the Giants Causeway which is only 50 miles from Larne.
The road then takes you onwards towards Coleraine and beyond to either enable a very short ferry trip from Magilligan point over to Greencastle in Republic of Ireland. Possibly an option for a super bike ride at another time!
I ride these roads every week and we have a very active motorcycle culture hers in NI including Road Racing like the NW200 every May!
Sorry for the ramblings but think you could enjoy the biking culture and history of Road Racing here in NI!
Have a wonderful trip and get Monica in or an Irish bar for a drop of the hard stuff and pint of Guinness!
Regards
John
I know the feeling you get as when I drive from Gloucester (after visiting family)my first stop is always the Tebay Services (Northbound)
M6 Farm shop sitting in the exact location having a breakfast. The drive from there up to Cairnryan port is stunning!
I totally agree with the expensive cost to travel over as they are only two operators which do appear to stick the arm in for the trip!
I do hope that Monica has enjoyed here first trip to the Emerald Isle and the culture and friendship shown by the Irish.
The adventures of Monica and Freddie absolutely brilliant 🤩 thank you.
I have had several Jeep Wranglers over the last 30 years. They are great for exploring and camping trips.
Tebay Services is an interesting place and usually packed. During the pandemic I had cause to use that part of the M6 and I called into Tebay. Mine was the only car in the car park… There was one member of staff manning a till in a Spa type shop and there were four wagon drivers staying at a hotel. It was a surreal experience.
Wow, just got back from a very similar trip. Yes the Irish, Northern or Southern are very firendly.
Just brilliant Freddie. Love Ireland. Done this trip once in a V8 Discovery, with my family. Once on a 1200 Harley Davidson Nightster, with friends. Love your videos, keep them coming! Im planning another trip to Ireland in a Range Rover L322 very soon❤
I'm an Australian touring Ireland and took the r330 from Westport after climbing Croagh Patrick there yesterday. Do it. The scenery will challenge even your mastery of superlatives.
R335 maybe? Louisburgh to Leenane through Doo Lough Valley? The R330 is the road from Westport to Partry through a bog. Being from the west of Ireland, I like a nice bog as much as the next man but……….
Welcome to Ireland Freddie & Monica, enjoy every moment.
Thanks Mike🇮🇪
What a lovely surprise to see you in Ramelton, where my family's roots are also. Enjoy the craic, and have a grand time!
Nice to see you featuring Tebay services and the Lune Valley, Freddie. I look after that bit of the M6 as a Highways Inspector and I get to see it every day, pretty much. It's stunning, isn't it? Even in the rain, which is..... ahem..... quite often. 🙄😁
Enjoy your break away with the lovely Monika and your new jeep and as always...love to you both.
Freddie. I have had three Jeeps, I just sold a Commander I had for 16 years. You are getting better mileage than you think. Jeeps, being American, are showing you MPG based on a US gallon which is 3.74 litres and an imperial gallon is 4.56 litres. So you are actually getting around 28 MPG. Have fun in Ireland.
Ahhhhh, I did notice it said “US economy”. It’s actually reading 26mpg, so this is hitting 30mpg in UK terms. I’m delighted with that👌🏻 Thank you for this!
Tebay & Gloucester Services (same deal) are both middle-class fantasies: good but very expensive. As I like to consider myself a working-class hero (AKA tight git) I tend to stick to services offering either Greggs or McDonalds. Much cheaper but not as photogenic. Nice film.
The Irish mile is longer than the English mile. Each one is longer than the American mile. What is the'mpg' in Ireland? 😂😂😂😂😂
And Inch is a mile 😉@@declanmurphy6427
I'm from Belfast the Larne to Stranraer route used to be the big touristy route until they opened the ferry terminal at Belfast. It's Belfast to Cairnryan which is the main route for cars and tourists
I just returned from Donegal and it is amazing. I agree, the people are one of the highlights and super friendly. Have fun.
Your editing along with the choice of music and commentary combines to make a superb production as always. Have a great time there Freddie and Monika - and I'll see you in the next one. 😊
A superb episode, Monika and Freddie..that tree house was just stunning!
Welcome to Ireland Freddie and Monica. My daughter and her family live about 20 minutes drive along the coast from Ramelton I know that area well.I live 220 kilometres south from there but I visit there 3 or 4 times every year on my motorbike, I was there last weekend (Aug 10th) and will head there again this weekend..One of the joys of being retired..😀
Your enthusiasm is really infectious… go on… cheers from south ouest of France… waiting for you next year at Wheels and Waves😉
Ahhh. I remember the days (and days) of Scotch Mist in my travels in Britain. But sets a mood that really unique and somewhat pleasant in the setting around you. It is truly Scottish. The farm ABnB was a treat.
As an Irishman I can confirm that the colours and the scent of Ireland truly comes alive in the rain and in particular the storms when they lash the coast.
Ah, Tebay... have been there 2019 I guess... Lovely service station, nice scenery. Recognised the place imediately. It looks so different compared to any other service station in England...
Worth watching is the Sean and Emily channel who did a week long tour of Ireland via Wales on a 1250GS. No rain in May at all and the coastal scenery looked absolutely stunning
I’ll check this out:)
Well done Monika the question we were all wandering about mpg.
Brilliant road trip trip mate, extra bonus with Monica on board.
Nice one Freddy, im going to Ireland the end of the month with my friend from northern Ireland we are going fishguard - Rosslare crossing then travelling to Waterford then down to cork then over to Kerry and around. have a great trip! looking forward to your vlogs
Tebay services, not only privately owned but all food is sourced locally showing the great quality products that can be found in the UK.
Another fantastic trip. What a lovely little AirBnB. FYI you have a number plate bulb out 😉
Damn it, Freddie! First I take up motorcycling and get an Interceptor 650 because of your videos. Now, I've just had all my day's calories with a brilliant breakfast at Tebay Services on your recommendation!😂
Lovely accommodation, well done Monica, the jeep looked good in the country setting .
Great video and good to hear Monika. The car maybe expensive but if it gives you joy and you can afford it, then why not. Sadly we're taxed on our dreams like everything else. Looking forward to seeing more of the Ireland road trip.
Over £700 road tax! More money than sense!
You missed a opportunity to drive around the north coast of Northern Ireland, a stunning drive on a good day.
Just finished watching the England/Morocco/Sahara video series...it was beautiful.
Really appreciate it- this was one of the best road trips of my life
Freddie, looking sharp in the new to you Jeep. Just remember one saying we have over here in the states.......if it ever brakes down on you Jeep stands for

Have a good time my friend
Go see the world
🤣🤣 I love it!
Im sure you have great memories of younger you being brought on the big long drive adventure and the ferry home once or twice a year to see granny and family. Many of us do!
Nice one Freddie & Monica, loved the B & B
Freddie, it's absolutely ironic that you are heading to Ireland in the Jeep? I think I mentioned in a previous video a trip to Ireland as a suggestion and hey presto, it's happened! I am glad you and Monica are having a lovely time and it's great to see how the Jeep handles the trip? Thanking you both so kindly.
3:54 I know that stretch of motorway like the back on my hand and Tebay services! My wife and I make the trip to Carlisle a few times a year to visit her grandma.
Rathlin Island off the northern eastern most point of the Antrim coast just around from the Giant's Causeway was where Marconi made the first radio transmission to Scotland.
You are such a quality dude, it's great Monica is with you. I'm 65 and just love your vlogs as image and posing is the name of the game with you, and you pull it off brilliantly. Other than the fact you forget cards in cash machines sometimes and lose or break sunglasses from time to time, I wouldn't miss one of your vlogs ever as you always leave your audience with the feel good factor. Loving the Jeep by the way! It will be interesting to see how reliable they are.
Happy days
Instantly recognised Tebay, also one of my favourite services. My kids vote is for Rugby though as it has a soft-play.
Beautiful scenery. I loved the tree house!
Great vid Freddie. Love the Wrangler, looks great , you need to head for the NC500 beautiful countryside and a great welcome from the Scots.
Great vid, looking forward to seeing the rest of trip.
Tebay services are a sister of Gloucester Services. Both have farm shops and the cafés. They use locally produced foods in the café and of course sell it in the farm shops.
Welcome home Freddie, welcome Monika! Great editing as always, Monika - excellent choice in the AirBnB as always, at least the clock is telling the right time in the Jeep!
Thank you Stuart!🇮🇪 Thank you for picking up on this😆⏰
Where you parked your car in Rathmelton, our family friends lived opposite the ramp, had a boat in the water and had a fascinating series of stone barns, gardens and a fresh well behind the house. We spent years of our childhood there! Love the place...
My family are from Bundoran south Donegal . I used to travel over the top but I use Holyhead to Dublin now . I was over a few weeks ago on my Honda NT 1100 DCT.
You’re right about the weather in Ireland always pack jumpers and a coat .
I always stop at tebay services one of the best services with great views.
Remember Freedie and Monica it’s smiles per gallon . Enjoy your stay In Ireland and if you get the chance visit the Joey Dunlop statute.
Have a great time and enjoy the craic .☘️☘️
At 17:17 I think that's the Corsewell Lighthouse Hotel. I stayed in it once. Very expensive, but amazing. We had a room with the sea only a few feet below our window, and I would've been happy to just watch the ferries going past all day! But my partner at the time preferred walking 3 miles to the nearest pub!
It was Corsewall and we've stayed there twice, 1999 and 2003 with friends. The food was out of this world and more than matched the location and views.
Fantastic trip mate , the tree 🌳 house stay was “ cute “ 👍, glad your enjoying the jeep , not sure if you have seen the add many years ago “ I brought a jeep “ if not Utube it , I used to say that to my father all the time with his Jeeps. I bet your glad your in the jeep and not on the bike in the rainy weather. That coast route supposed to be a fantastic bike ride .
Welcome to Ireland, We live in Armagh in NI and have just been planning a run up to Donegal, Killybegs and Glencolumbkille tomorrow! (Or Saturday if I sleep in 🤡)
You are on the P&O Larne service which was years ago originally a freight service. the other Stena Belfast service takes freight too but would be the one most cars and passengers use . I use the cheapest at the time of booking 😱 😂 Enjoy your break.
😊😊😊 yet another great film guys.....😊😊
Brilliant Freddie. Glad you talked Monica out of the summer dresses (though she'd look spectacular in those) and into the waterproofs and wellies. Yes, summer in Ireland is indeed "when the rain gets warmer". I know because I live there (Co.Antrim north of the border) Have a wonderful stay in the emerald isle and don't forget to introduce Monica to the draught Guinness which is of course to die for! 😎👍
Beautiful places.
Great video, and I know the feeling of the MPG and VED rates. Sold my Discovery 4 and replaced it with an Audi A6 Allroad, both 3.0TDV6 diesels and both £735 VED, although the Audi averages 35-45mpg rather than the 24mpg of the Discovery 😂
We did it that way and back across from Rosslare to Fishguard last year and then the other way this year. Love ferry crossings . So much easier than taking a flight.
Agreed- it feels like a proper adventure taking the ferry
Nice to see you both in my country Freddie ...... Didn't know you have Irish roots. Wish Monica a great first trip here 😊 Take care 🙂 👍
Jeep content in the UK! Needed this!
I think we only saw one other Jeep during the entire trip!
Great to see you over here! Enjoy, and come back, of course!
Thank you so much, John
Another great vlog. Not sure about London to Stranraer as being more than a day's travel (unless you are in a Morris Minor in the early '60s). The owners of the treehouse need to move with the times- recommendations in a book do nothing, as people only read them after the stay. Tebay services famous for the food and farmshop. Carparks always full!
Was hopping that we would get to meet Granny Dobbs!
I love a travel vlog so thank you both.
Wonderful adventure for you both, thanks for bringing us along 👍
Thanks, I hope you enjoy it!
Tebay also own Gloucester services........different class to the usual dross on motorways. Might be more expensive, but the food is quality........
Beautiful footage.
Thanks🙌🏻
Was hoping you'd make the trip over here...,glad you've made it.,you both are VERY welcome.!!
Wish you'd brought the bike though...
I'm guessing you'll do the Antrim coastal route back to Larne for the ferry home......,a regular drive for us since we live here in Co Antrim.
Have a great trip Freddie and Monica....,and enjoy every single minute in our beautiful Country..!!
God bless
BG
Great video Freddie as always. Love the Jeep!! Oh and I've been meaning to ask this for a while, where did you get your jacket? 🙂
I definitely don't envy your gas prices Freddie, wow! And here in the south western U.S. I complain about it being $3.29 ($.10 discount gas card) that's insane mate 😂 As a former owner of two JK Rubicon's I loved them
Fantastic, Freddie and Mônica, please tell me you’re going to Glencolumbkille.
Lovely trip for you both. I wonder what mpg the jeep will do. I towed a speedboat to south of France in the late 80s 2.4 auto and it averaged 16 mpg. I didn’t keep the car that long. I swapped in for a V6 Ford that did 25 mpg. Love big lazy engined cars, the comfort the ease and squeeze.
Sailing 40min from my home town. If i knew, would have met for coffee.. people are still boycotting p&o because of what they did in 22. We go to NW200 most years and sail with Stena. Love Ireland, except sometimes the weather lol.. have fun
The adventure begins now with the Wrangler although will be missing the fiat ❤ super excited
Thanks Kaizen. So many incredible memories with the Fiat- I really hope to have just as many with the Jeep😃
Hi Freddie. Great video. Just a little detail I noticed. Looks like your Jeep has BfGoodritch K02 tires. They are excellent tires and they last a long time. (I have them on my Nissan Frontier Pick up and my dad has had them on previous vehicles of his) they are incredible in snow and mud. But their one weakness is rain, especially when on a pick up truck that is extra light over the rear wheels. May not be an issue in the Jeep, but I recommend being cautious of the back wheels slipping a bit in the rain, especially around corners.
This is really useful, thanks for this Lee. I’ll be doing a snowy winter trip, and I was wondering is these’ll be good- so I’ll stick to the same model. Hugely appreciated
735 GBP raod tax! Ridiculous! You are already paying a lot more tax via tax on petrol. I like the dash more than the dash on the old-school 1993 4.0 Ltd that I had for ten years. You are getting better MPG, too. Great services Lovely place. Even better tree hotel, and I suppose good value at 100 GBP. Expensive ferry.
Great video. The fact I watched effctively a 'car video' is a testimony to the quality of your videos, both of you. Nick
I have only seen the first few minutes, however is it my imagination? or is it more noisy than the Fiat? All that traffic I guess was on the M6? If so on the return journey try cutting accross from Glasgow area through Peebles to the A1. I tried it last year. I still had some traffic, but not so bad as the M6 (A1, M11, M25, Dartford crossing and then you are home).
I love the tree house. I need to go to Ireland again. You are right they are lovely. Last time I did the Straraer to Larne crossing was 1971 (when I was 16). At that time I was living in your area, on Shooters Hill in Plumstead.
Good to have Monica back on camera duty, soooo much better than… well you know who.
Gloucester Services on the M5 is run by the same company as the one at Tebay. Quality places. Probably the best motorway service sites on the network.
Freddie please, talking with both hands whilst driving 🤨 you wouldn’t do that on the bike. Love the channel.
The Tebay service’s is very similar to Gloucester Services on the M5 both really nice 👍
I’ll save this Gloucester one👌🏻
In the States, the Wrangler is a 2 door model; the Wrangler Unlimited has 4 doors. You are driving the Wrangler Unlimited, a heavier model than the regular Wrangler and more of a gas guzzler. Since you are only a couple, a 2 door Wrangler would've been more appropriate for y'all, IMO. And I am reminded of the extra road noise that all Wranglers permit to enter the vehicle. Happy trails!
Ahhhhh, I wondered what the “unlimited” element stood for. Thanks🙌🏻
Slightly warmer and dryer than a Bonneville.
The country side of UK is just unimaginably beautiful ❤
Have fun you two😀
Thank you🙌🏻
20+ MPG in a Wrangler is great! I get 18MPG in my 2022 Rubicon, although it’s got a lift kit, 35” tyres and a roof top tent, which doesn’t help, but I still love it 😂
Fascinating to hear from another owner. I was looking at some with lift kits and wondered if the economy would be affected (Top Gear Specials sprang to my mind!). Incredibly, over the whole trip it averaged 26mpg😳
Freddy, you unconsciously giving away design ideas.
Atlantic Drive north of Downings is a must
Super video, were gripped.
So cool to be able to travel from country to country in a day! Jealous here 😅
One look at that jacket is enough to make anyone smile and laugh.
At least he’s not wearing those hideous baggy trousers….😎
Jealous..enjoy fred😅
Good to see you here mate, ur only an hour from me 😊👍 Have a great time
🇮🇪
Thank you so much, Stevie! So happy to be here🇮🇪
@@FreddieDobbs Enjoy mate 👍😊 when u reach Donegal town itself head towards Ballybofey, A few miles outside the town u’ll find BIDDYS PUB, a great place for lunch and peace and quite with a river walk nearby 👍
Reminds me of Phoenix Nights- Stranraer! What you doing in Stranraer? Brian Potter
Ok so the part where you are finishing at the roadside cafe, you say “it’s 5:30 now” … I look at my clock here in Chiang Mai Thailand, it’s 5:30… just freaky !!
Awesome Jeep 🎉
Thank you David🙌🏻
It's great to see more car content on the channel and what a journey to use it on. Is Monika insured for the Wrangler or did Freddie need to do all the driving?
Delighted you’re enjoying the car content! Monika’s also fully insured and she’s already driven 100s of miles in it. And loves it, maybe even more than me (which is worrying!)
just don't think about the tax and mpg. enjoy the ride🚙....Beauty treehouse. So cosy looking.
Exactly the attitude I’ve now adopted- I like this a lot
Freddie, make your next trip the NC500, with Monica and the new toy, the Mighty Jeep Wrangler!! Love it!
