OMG!!!! My mother loves Dragon Flies! I have some Hobbii Universe in sparkly Blue/Purple and I am going to make these as a gift for her. Thank you for coming out with this pattern!😊
Of course! I've been thinking about them for a while. I was trying to come up with a relatively easy pattern that would still give the piece a more realistic look. I think I achieved that with this one. Let me know how it works out for you. I'd be curious ☺️
Great explanation of the Dragon fly!!❤ Lost my dear Husband in March and had an Amazing experience with a Dragon fly ! Took a video while talking to it !it greeted me for a few mornings And made me feel like I was going to be ok going forward in life!
Thank you soooo much for this! I've just finished my third wing so not complete yet but I'm so impressed with myself and with you! I'm a written wyrd kinda gal so have mostly used your transcript and am grateful you took so much time to do both...dragonflies have a special place in my ❤ and, now, so do you!!!
I love the dragonflies you are showing we have them in our back yard all the time in south TX. Now I am teaching my grand daughters how to crochet they will love these
These dragonflies are so beautiful I love all God's creations but is little ones like dragonflies and butterflies, lady bugs and hummingbird moths are a few of my favorites do you have a book with your instructions in them? I am reaching my granddaughters how to crochet. they love dragonflies also and lizards, lol.. Thank you so much for the gift you have put on YOUTube.. God bless you and keep you safe.
Currently, UA-cam is where you can find most of my designs/tutorials. You are not the first to ask about a book or written patterns, so I am seriously exploring what I need to do to make this happen. I think it's fantastic that you are so involved with your granddaughters! Have a wonderful and safe week yourself.
Beautiful! Got one of my favorite colors up there, purple. I love the history/legends you inform us with as well. going to have to make a couple, and I actually have a dragonfly windchime on my tree in the front yard. Curious if you have any patterns for butterflies? Ever since my mom passed in 2007, and a blue butterfly flew across her grave as it was being closed, my 5 yr old grandson and I seem to attract butterflies, they land us on as well. Would love to make a few of those, unfortunately my designs have not turned out so well LOL. Thanks for another great tut./pattern. happy hooking!🕷🐞🦋🦋
Do you know what type of butterfly it was? If I knew what kind, I might be able to come up with a design that works better for you than the Irish Crochet motif butterflies I have in this channel.
I am so glad your dragonfly turned out beautifully, but my heart breaks for your loss. I agree, fentanyl is a real problem, and the people that peddle that shit to our vulnerable and / or unsuspecting population are culpable to the devastation left in its wake. Thank you for sharing your story. Don't forget to take care of yourself while you navigate your grieving process.
You can easily experiment with the pipe cleaners and different yarns to see if you are good with the end results. The pipe cleaners will bend and hold their shape just fine, so that's not my concern. It's the chenille texture of the pipe cleaner that may be a challenge for you.
I did some math and the body stitches arnt counting right. For one color the pattern states 110 stitches however in reviewing the video for 2 colors it goes well past 110. Actually according to the math we should have chained 130 20 for the tail and 110 for the rest of the body. Did I misunderstand the instructions? As my understanding even for the 2 colors its 20 and 90 which counts to 110 but the stitch markers and stitches equal 110 and 20.
Hello @Savannahscat, I reviewed the video, and I do not see what you are seeing. As far as I can tell, my count is good. Both approaches add up to 110 chains total in order to make the body. If you are using one color/yarn, you chain 110. If you are using two colors/yarns, one yarn is 20 chains, and the other yarn is 90 chains, which still gives you 110 chains when combined. If I am using only the one color/yarn approach, I will place my stitch marker at the 60 chain count. If I am using two colors/yarn approach, then I will have already worked my first 20 chains from the first color/yarn being used, and now I have 40 chains left to work on the second color (using the same st on the next 40 chains as were used with the first 20 chains) and so that forty chain count on the second color is were I place my stitch marker. It's at count 60 of the body of either approach where the next step begins. I hope this was helpful. My apologies if I have misunderstood your question.
@@weavingwyrdstudio I took the time to watch the video and write out the pattern. Here is what I wrote please let me know if any of this is incorrect the number in parenthesis will be the number of chains we worked up to. ch 110 sk1 ch 3 sc in next 19 ch (20) 3 sc in next 60 ch (80) 3 hdc in next 18 ch (98) 3 dc in next 4 ch (102) 3 trc in next 5 ch (107) 4 trc in next 9 ch (116) 4 dc in next ch (117) 4hdc in next ch (118) 4 sc in next 3 ch (121) 4 dtr in next 7 ch (128) and I believe in the video I saw 2 ch left untouched which means the number of chains equals 130 not 110 unless of course my math is wrong which is very possible I am only human. Please advise if this pattern is correct or where I made the mistake if any.
@@Savannahscat I think I see where you are getting confused. If you are using two colors, you will make [(3 sc) x 19] in the 20 chains of that first color. Then you will move on to make [(3 sc) x 40] in the next 40 chains of the second color. This gives you a total of 60 chains combined when you count for the skipped ch as you start with the second chain from the hook. And you will have a remainder of 50 chains left to work with on the second color. And then, of course, if you are using only a single color to make your body from, you will simply chain 110 and then begin by placing your first (3 sc) in the second chain from the hook and you will continue placing (3 sc) in each of the next 58 chains. This will also leave you with the remainder of 50 chains to work with. I did realize, however, that I did not explain in the video that the total number of chains being worked with comes out to be 108 chains. As you can see in the video, those couple of extra chains that where not worked with have been tucked into the work during the final construction.
Thank you! I am so pleased that you like this video. However, I don't know how, or if I can, enable Turkish subtitles from my end. I will look into it, but I cannot promise anything.
When I start the right side of the wings, you say 35 chain stitches but then when I get across, I still have three chains left and I’ve done it like four times. Help
I am wondering if this might be the problem?... After your 4 slip stitches, your first space is a "ch 3" space. The next 9 spaces are "ch 2" spaces. This will give you a total of 10 spaces. Please let me know if this was helpful. If not, I will need more information to help me understand what might be going on better.
@@weavingwyrdstudio Yes 10 spaces but it says you should have 9. Anyway I just start in the ss in the 3rd ch and at the end I skip 3 ch and It turns out. Looking forward to completing this, then I'm going to try to make a smaller version. Thanks
