    I am a huge fan of weird stuff like Bubblegum rock and the history of the genre so that Cadet 45 by Magic Swirling Ship is very intriguing I don’t care what anyone else thinks of BG music, those tracks are played by some great musicians and much of it is borderline psych/garage! Joey Levine is one of my fave singers with his snotty vocal style! But yeah I would love to hear that Magic Swirling Ship jam! Man your collection is mind boggling! Between you and Dillan at Noble Records I am blown away! This channel deserves way more subs I am going to shout you out on Cosmic Vinyl so the folks that follow us know you’re out here! Love the video. In total agreement on the Rolling Stones Satanic album, by far my most listened to Stones record. Very cool to see the Macabre single. Got to know Bobby Liebling when he use to come into the store I worked at in Rockville, Maryland. The documentary on him is mind boggling. How is he still alive? By the way, do you have the Macabre version or the Macbre version of the single? If memory serves, the Macbre version is the more common on the two. I encourage you to do a 45 video. I'm also a 45 guy, mostly 60s garage and 70s punk, so I would appreciate seeing a video on what you have. Keep it short and sweet, maybe 10 singles in 15 minutes. I know I'd watch.

    Wow, that run of 45s. Never been out to your shop but I hope to some day when I visit my VC buds out there. Fun fact: I used to work at the "other" Permanent records that was in Brooklyn but unaffiliated with your stores. But cool showings. Pearlman is a god to me. I've long been trying to locate a reasonable copy of RCR but that ship may have sailed. It's an all-time great psych LP for me. I love Beat and Electronic Hole too but those are definitely more free-form and more like a happening kinda thing. Looking forward to more of these if you can do em. Also, seems like you dig the rural psych specifically. I did a video on that a while back, you'll probably know the records but it's a specific sub-genre of psych I always love. Especially when it walks the right line. Be well!

    It's funny...most collectors say you must have 45s in your collection. Ever since I was young I was more economical...a 45 cost 99 cents but albums were @ $3.99 and you got 12 songs usually. So I'd always buy the album unless there was a B side not included on the album or a really nice picture sleeve😆

    • @PermanentRecordsLA
      @PermanentRecordsLA  Місяць тому

      I dig 'em all! LPs are best for listening at home, but I prefer to DJ with 45s and many of the tracks that I've comped on Brown Acid were only released originally on 45. Now you can own all of those tracks on LP too! Thanks for your comment and for watching the video.

    You collect 7" records, do you have Cindy & Bert "Der Hund Von Der Baskervilles"? German Schlager duo covering Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" but change the lyrics. That's cool you work with Riding Easy, they are a great label. I love Electric Citizen, The Well, R.I.P. on that label. I dig your channel as you show some off the beaten trail.

      I do have the Cindy Und Bert single with the original picture sleeve. I've spun in many times at DJ gigs and I played it on the "C" episode of my radio show on NTS as well! The video for that song from German TV is also unbelievable! I'm honored to work with RidingEasy. Daniel has been running a great label for over 10 years and we have many reissues on the docket for 2024 and beyond as well! I live off the beaten trail on the road less traveled. You will get lots of subscribers. VC tends to love the folks who primarily listen to psych-prog-acid folk - pop/ rock sounds. Bobby Brown, essential, even if just for the cover or hair, so sinister! Alicia May has a somewhat cliched contrived voice, so not at Joni's ''level''! Although Mitchell's early Lp's were nothing special, so a similar folky qualia. Skinnydipping has some sweet tunes, a better singer ought to cover them, has someone? Are you mediumrareLA on discogs?

    • @PermanentRecordsLA
      @PermanentRecordsLA  7 місяців тому

      I hope so, but even if I don't, that's ok. I'm having a ton of fun making videos and engaging with the community! I'm more of a Joni appreciator than a super fan, but I live for private press albums that bear any resemblance to the artists they are influenced by. It's tough for DIY artists to hold a candle to major label artists with big budgets and unlimited studio time. I love Alicia's earnestness and the fact that she sings about weed and sex openly. Not typical Laurel Canyon folk fare. Bobby Brown, on the other hand, is one-of-a-kind! We do sell some records on that Discogs account. Feel free to make us an offer if you don't like the listing price. That's only a starting point for negotiation. Cheers!
