Been playing Dinomorphia for a bit, it's such a fun cheap deck that has a really cool idea behind it, and the Z-arc package adds Brave Eyes Pendulum Dragon (for a premium, needs a reprint bad) lets you stop 0 attack monsters too!
Problem with Dinomorphia that it loses to literally any non-engine in the game. Even fuwo hurts as drop it at the start of their turn as their 6th card. Most play Labyrinth in it or kashtira for immediate play power. Unfortunately, you get less than less of your own deck as you add more into it. You’re not playing optimal dinomorphia you’re playing unoptimal labyrinth
Floo is under the radar rn tbh, at least at a locals level. Its not that its crazy powerful or anything, but It blanks both Fuwalos and Dominus impulse which are the 2 biggest handtraps rn. Turning your opponents hand into essentially 4 or 3 cards is huge.
Shark gets multiple top 8 regional finishes in the past two and a half months, has many cards in its core reprinted to be cheap, has new support in the current set with the most expensive main deck monster being $2, has four extra deck one of cards reprinted in the current tins (three of which are boss monsters) and the most expensive ED one of being $4-5 and the next expensive one being $3.50, and is the only meta deck in the room playing a Kaiju... but Cali rides the waves of Ice Barrier. Shark has left the chat 🦈
Commander being the exception, The vast majority of modern Decks tend to stay around 800 - 1k. Which is less on average by about 100 or so bucks from top meta decks that run the mulcharmy cards in Yu-Gi-OH! I could be mistaken so forgive me if I'm not completely on the right track but it seems like Modern MTG decks and Top Meta YGO decks are close in price with YGO being slightly more expensive to do the market being so much more volatile then MTG.
Dinomorphia covers pretty much everything: resilient to most handtraps, monster negates, pop, floating monsters and a big floodgates. But man, it could really use another main deck monster ):
I also agree, I wish Dinomorphia would have a main deck Boss/beater monster like Unchained has with Abominable Unchained Soul. Like it would speical summon anytime your life points go in half.
Im rocking a $45 main and extra deck build right now as a tester. Playing visas starfrost, scareclaw, yang zings. My current build is not my final build. Still testing and playing with different ratios and starfrost support but it has proven to be extremely consistent.
Mimighoul is not a joke anymore. It is incredible for budget, it's incredible against tenpai. Also, once you learn the combos dominus impulse barely affects your combos.
Just found out about ancient warriors a few weeks ago and decided to make them my budget deck and i got my ultimate slayers rite before i watched the vid cali mentioned them lol , love the content your puting out bro.... no diddy lol
7:00 when you said "sometimes you get presented with opportunity" reminds me that I got a playset of Deception of Sinful Spoils for $60 when ROTA came out 😂
seriously thank you for these types of videos as a father i put my hobbies last and quality videos like this that are super informative make me feel like i can still enjoy the game and ball on a budget
Oh my dude, Dragon Ruler Kash is CRAZZZZZY strong, and can be blinged out for NOTHING. It is so stupid strong with the Kash, Adventure, Rose Dragon, Diabell/Wanted and Colossus engines. Funny enough, that sounds like a lot, but it all flows together like butter. Sooooo many Level/Rank 7s and tokens for SP/IP/Cherubini. It deserves attention.
No mimighoul mention is crazy. I was able to get the entire deck core for $20 without shipping, and the only thing im missing is thrust and poplar for a lil snake eyes package
Is pure fire kings better or is tri brigade better? I basically have the tri brigade version built only missing the ulcanix and Promethean princess, but I have only been seeing videos of the pure version recently
Floo is another budget core and players can probably pick the core up for like 20-30 bucks. Puts up that skill drain like boss monster like previously mentioned dinomorphia and can run shifter without consequence to drastically hurt decks like yubel, snake eye, and even lesser tier decks that you mentioned.
Cali giving Dinomorphia its flowers and sharing a deck list is the best thing to happen to round up 2024💐 it cooks Tenpai and Rogue decks and does not loose to the Mulchummies 💪🏼
Might be a little more over 50 dollars, but Pure Kashtira is incredibly good. Might not have the best price for being a budget deck, but can do lots of board breaking, can house many ht and plays shifter
Dark World player since day 1 here, you can make a REALLY strong deck and very cheap, 30 dollars for the structure deck AND the other 20 dollars were used to buy Groza, Baronne, black wing, and 1 Danger monster to make it a real deal. You could try a Dark World and Red Dragon Archfiend deck awell for the memes, but its actually good.
Interested you mentioned Ritual Beast since I'm interested in that deck, but I heard its a pain to learn. Might build it on MD first and see if I like it there
I like Dinomorphia but having only 6 fusion cards in a 40 card deck that can be ash blossomed or negated is too bricky. Konami gotta give Dinomorphia more support.
I think sharks should be here. I've been Testing them with the new Support and for around 60-70€ you can build a pretty good Deck with it. Granted, Ash or imperm on normal summon can basically end the Duell in a Bad hand but with cards Like thrust it doesnt Happen to often in my experience. Its not as good as fireking from what I've Seen but it works quite well with all the interruption you can set Up.
MTG genuinely costs more. Don't even try to price the meta decks of legacy. That being said, I've always been too nervous to enter an LGS and play against randos, but I'm 100% waiting for the Gladiator support.
if you want a dirt cheap deck that is fun to play and also has the ability to cook your opponents look no futher than Ghoti, the core cost like 15$ and a chewgum and now that abyss shark got reprinted you have access to stealth kraken, a card that alone cooks most deck
Infernoble is pretty good, you can get the full core and super heavy engine and most of the good cards for 20$ and that’s without the wanted/witches, even then you can still make it pretty good with the wanteds and witches for around 50$
The problem with yugioh is that they haven't brought cards that were on the ban list off that have been power crept into non factor in modern yugioh like graceful charity and pot of greed
I bought the whole core for 60 bucks 5 years ago including 3 pike and a gaios so now i revamped the deck with 25 bucks and am having a blast at locals 🤣
I'd say mtg modern is a fair degree more expensive but yeah. I just ordered all of the stuff for a dragon ruler deck, but had to hold off on the kashtira core. fenris should be as expensive as they are.
4 affordable viable decks, fire king, rescue ace, tenpai and dino is basically 3 fire decks and 1 stun deck. I mean since the community often times is pretty kind they lend they decks and stuff. But for my personal satisfaction I like to identify with my decks and the top decks are all so whack (imp). There are very few creative ways to mix things up.
imagine 10 random players plays with well made budget decks vs 10 random players with REAL expensive decks... what win rate the budget guys would have if you would have to guess like you betting cash on it?
Ah yes, I am glad that Yu gi oh is cheaper than MTG. Some decks in that game for competitive play can run 3-4k. Some as high as 10-12k depending on format Vintage is insanely expensive in paper.
Melodious i have been playing the deck and because of what the deck does i easily beat the top meta decks in the format tenpai cant beat it at all and with etoile on the field as well as aria and elegy plus shuberta and a bacha all snake ey fiendsmith azamina decks cant win against it and because of etoiles effect yubel is just laughable at best
It is an amazing day for Yu-Gi-Oh! Was on TCG Player and a Snake-Eyes playset core is currently $50-$60. What a time to be alive man
