- Hi friends, in this video I'm making a great workbench fixture that is a complete replacement for a carpenter's vise. I have seen similar options in very expensive tables from branded manufacturers, but my version is very, very cheap, and in general it can be made from improvised materials.

That really twisted my stomach too. Ooof. I've got some bad gashes slipping those bits out of the case, i couldnt imagine the pain it would be if a loose thread pulled my wrist right i to the damn thing when its on!
I was gonna comment on running his hand directly over thr router blade w/o using a push block.

Хорошая идея и реализация. Торчащие струбцины не очень хорошо, но с этим можно смириться. А если сделать самодельные укороченные зажимы под конкретный материал, например ЛДСП, фанеру - для сборки мебели, то будет вообще прекрасно.
Ну, по хорошему для каждой операции должен быть свой комплект струбцин или иных зажимов. Но у начинающих обычно их не много, а те что есть всегда длиннее, чтобы одним комплектом больше задач перекрыть. Чаще берём самые длинные из тех, на что денег хватает.
И верстак, как сопля болтается..

Great idea you have the but I can see it is hard to use due to your bench , it moves way to much , it needs a concrete base along with a X brace so it does not move

I wanted a moxon kit but chose to use a diy build rather than break the piggy bank. Is what I built good looking, yes. Quick clamping for different thicknesses, no way. I have decided to replace my improv moxon with this idea, longer clamp area and much easier build. Thanks

I guess Festool must have stolen this idea from you 30 years ago. This idea is almost as good as your shop craft. I just love the way you hacked around with that beater plane. I was disappointed that we missed the blood fountain during your router work.

Верстачок хлипковат... У меня просто доска прикручена в торец, НО!!! креплю заготовку струбцинами (и быстрозажимными тоже)с другой стороны. Зато не торчат струбцины, не наткнёшься на них причинным местом. 😂😂😂
I would cut two pieces of wood that fit the "Track", or metal piping and put a 'screw knob' through the wood or metal piping that allows you to screw the wood or piping 'tight', preventing the clamps from moving left or right while working on the wood.

Длинную доску можно зажимать через подкладки (брусочки). Одним концом брусочек опирается на доску, а другой, чтоб не проваливался, подпирается упорчиком в толщину доски. Это первое, что пришло в голову. Можно ещё покумекать...
Сосна? На две передние планки попрочнее бы материал взять

Hmmmm...... What am I missing? I could see that it's slightly helpful but couldn't you just clamp the boards to the table skirt. Either way, you have to have one hand on the board being clamped and the other on the clamp.....Ok... after watching it a second time... you can slide the clamping portion to the board and the clamp bottoms making it easier.

This like everything has the draw backs and everyone who wants to find them and tell us will, for me this is a simple and yet brilliant solution to of lot of vice and hard to clamp miss shaped or different width peace's of work. Thanks Crazy Workshop fantastic and simple fix, this has just gone to the top of my build list, gonna help loads and save me making a leg vice for a few more months. Especially as I can make two 1 for the top and one lowers to hold bigger material, brill.

Концепция идеи заслуживает однозначно внимания. Однако в момент, когда зажал и начал строгать - чуть слёзы не пошли - вся конструкция еле дышит - елозит, раскачивается, рубанок тупой...
Но идея - это главное!
