The silence of the audience added something to this performance that I can't quite describe. I was in the moment with Rose and Giovanni and was quite simply blown away by how gorgeous this was. I can see how Rose is blossoming as a dancer but I see a change in Giovanni too. They are teaching one another and I think the mutual respect and trust they have really makes their partnership work so beautifully. This brought tears to my eyes, just such a stunning performance.
I'm so glad Strictly is bringing more diverse dance couples. More LGBTQ+ and celebrities with disabilities. They were both in sync with each other and danced beautifully. Both of them having the time of their lives. They've worked so hard I hope they win!

The way she described ‘hearing’ his body is how ballroom should feel for everybody regardless of the ability to hear. I just knew ballroom and body contact was the way forward for this couple. She doesn’t need to read his lips or count the beats- she needs to tune into Giovanni’s movement and respond. Watching her do this was magic. She has natural expressiveness in her hand as well, sensing and expressing the music. I would give this a 10

The audience can be really annoying at times. Don’t know why they can’t just sit there, be quiet and cheer/clap at the end. It’s the same on DOI

yeah its because they dont really "clap" with rosie, because she wouldnt hear the encouragement. They do the sign language sign for Applause at the end of a routine, but it would probably be too distacting if they did that during the dance

My favourites. The only celebrity I think that looks superglued to their partners body. Beautiful v shape between them and their lower bodies as one from the hips. To not look at him and not hear the music and just follow him with absolute trust is stunning to get the timing that perfect. When they did face each other there was always eye contact and I think giovanni is just as much learning from her. She has a big heart and an open mind. Beautiful smile all the way through and nice to see giovanni genuinely looking touched whilst he was dancing and smiling back. Great coupling

I would give this a 10 no mistakes and had everyone in tears she did this beautifully and she is an absolute legend for this routine

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Giovanni. He often has been paired with 'unconventional' celeb partners, and I mean that in the best way - whether it's older contestants like Michelle Visage or Debbie McGee, or a partner with deafness like Rose - contestants, who, sadly, may be stereotyped initially as less likely to do well. They don't always stereotype him by simply pairing him with the average young, typically abled woman. They know that his kind of driven personality and fearlessness can take on anyone, and that shows in how successful he is - he and Michelle were one of the strongest pairings, he and Debbie were a masterclass together, and he's proving again to take on the unique challenges of helping a woman with deafness learn to dance spectacularly. But, of course, credit where credit is due, Rose is obviously such a strong woman in herself, and meets any challenges head on, turning out these exquisite dances without even hearing the music - incredible. Really looking forward to seeing them grow each week, because, let's be honest, they should be in it for the long haul :)

This was so insanely nice; like with Rose's stellar face acting along with a beautiful costume and some great dancing this was one of my favourites.
Giovanni handles Rose like she is made of the finest China. All my life I wished a man would look at me as Giovanni looks at Rose, it is absolutely magic to watch.💯♥️

I never understood how people get emotional by strictly ballroom numbers until I saw this dance. Absolutely outstanding, couldn’t speak highly enough about rose and giovanni ❤️
This was truly stunning. Rose looked stunning and radiant and just glided around the floor with Giovanni. A truly beautiful performance and a 10 for sure.
She's absolutely stunning, what an incredible performance. I hope she gets to the final she deserves it.
I just love how gentle Giovanni is with Rose. Her musicality is so visible and the way he holds her and supports her going into hold is just beautiful. With time and practice on her footwork, she can only get better! The audience being so quiet and respectful at the end absolutely made it as well!
This might be the closest I’ve ever come to crying during a performance.
It did make me cry. It was exquisite & faultless. Love these two, a pretty special partnership. I don't think people fully appreciate the difficulties Rose has to overcome because of her deafness but she and Gio are so in tune.

We used to go dancing at Sheffield City Hall many years ago on Saturday night and the band played everything instrumental, no vocals on anything
of they hadnt i wouldve been pulled out of it by the singer. Shes a beautiful alto singer, but why they always make her sing soprano, powerful songs baffles me. So yeah, not only did the instrumental create more atmosphere, it also meant that the dance would be overpowered by some less-than-great Celine Dion impression (i like the singer btw, but not everyones voice is suited to each song, and shes proven multiple times that she cannot sing high pitches powerful songs...just hire a soprano simger as well strictly...you have the budget too!)

I lost my mum in July.. she loved Strictly and would have loved rose and gios dance.. we would have both been sat trying not to cry at how magical the whole thing was.. the dance, her dress, just the piano and the gentle kiss he placed on roses forehead and the look of loss in roses eyes at the end 😭😭😭
I dont normally enjoy slow, romantic dances: i usually prefer really dramatic paso dobles and tangos and jives with the orchestra and lots of lights. But this? This made me cry. As a disabled person, this dance means so much to me and so many others out there. Phenominal.
This was THE dance of the night for me, I had goosebumps when they finished. That beautiful little rise and then a soft fall into the first step set this up to be a gorgeous dance throughout. Rose was graceful, poised, great body contact, clean footwork, and the fallaway's were beautifully done. Rose explaining that she only had to listen to Gio's body reminded me of a lesson I had with a top pro back in the day, where he took me through figures I had never tried before, his body told mine what it needed to do.It was a wonderful experience. Rose followed Giovanni exceptionally well, of particular note are the parts where they danced slightly behind the music, which is a lovely nuance in a Foxtrot, achieved by Giovanni's strong lead and Rose's willingness to completely follow.
Mesmerising. Gio's doing an absolutely great job. Have to admit, I did have a little tear in my eye by the end!
I was doing my usual messing about on my phone on the sofa whilst my wife gets her Strictly fix...then I looked up and saw something wonderful! I still cant beleive how they, and especially she, moved me to tears in a simply breathtaking few moments!
60 year old man, on the brink of tears after this stunning, mesmerising and simply elegant dance, no trills, just pure talent full stop.
Being married to a deaf person I have a soft spot for Rose. But regardless of her disability she is proving to be a beautiful dancer. And you can see a difference in Giovanni too. I can't wait for them to do their couples choice and really hope they pick contemporary as I think it would suit her and her dance style down to a T.
I think it's good for him on a personal level to have a partner that won't fawn over his flirting etc because she can't hear him so he's behaving differently and building relationships without his usual flirtation.

@@joebogle3172 well last week she said she wore hearing aids which enabled her to gauge volume levels when she talks (thus some other sounds I guess). And I'm guessing in some of the Latin numbers with louder music, she'd be able to feel the beat/vibrations from the band?

The music without vocals gave more focus to the dance. Fabulous but it was so good it feels like it ended too soon. I could’ve watched a much longer dance. Spectacular.

Breathtaking... I've never been so affected by a dance before. It seems to end too soon! Yes, I also noticed that that the audience remained respectfully silent throughout and was even hesitant about cheering at the end! For me, this dance reached a whole new level that I've never experienced before.

Dang this season is shaping out to be one of the best ever. Prob one reason why I looooove movies week, is that we get gems like these.
I love Giovanni and Rose so much for a number of reasons. In all the series we’ve ever had of this show I have never seen such an authentic, pure, beautifully connected, moving, tender & warm partnership. What elevates this pairing above everyone else is the emotion and passion they bring, it is completely captivating and so pure. What they have you can’t teach. They just have IT. This ability to melt your heart and transport you into their performance that you just want it to continue.
I love Rose she is such a beautiful soul, an intelligent, stunning, sassy and charming young woman and she dances with so much grace, elegance and confidence. It is so inspiring watching her dance and proving you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. That we aren’t defined and limited by disabilities but can blossom in-spite of them and find a different even better way of doing things, it has totally opened my eyes and mind and has made me want to learn to sign and be able to communicate and connect in that language. She is talented, hard working and just a total delight, the behind the scene footage of them are always so joyful and sweet.
I love how we’ve seen Giovanni in a way we have never seen him before- his partnership with Rose has bought out this warm, more relaxed, vulnerable, funnier, softer and more sweet side of him. The strength in their partnership really translates on the dance floor, it never looks forced, it always looks natural and effortless. I am blown away from this pairing and their performances warm my heart and give me joy. So it won’t be a surprise that I of course want them to win and thank them for the stunning performances they have given us thus far

Flawless, elegant and simply stunning. I don’t get moved by many dances but this might be an exception. Not only did Rose dance beautifully, but her facial expressions and purity just made it. Rose is a ballroom girl!!! This routine is stunning. She's been good the last couple of weeks but this was a whole new level.
The ending of this reminds me of the story of Beethoven and the ending of the 9th Symphony, where the audience waved handkerchiefs and applauded vigorously so at least the maestro could see the applause.

I got very choked up watching this.. Firstly the expression on Rose's face really told the story, the body language between the two was precious to watch. I got a bit teary thinking what it must feel like for Rose in that moment playing that character and not knowing how beautiful the added music makes it. Sometimes we can get swept up in the emotional music, but for Rose it was feeling another person there and trusting him and really being in the moment. So elegant and rare. This was my favorite performance, tied with John & Johannes.

What a beautiful and breaktaking routine I have goosebumps the emotion and acting as well as the fluidity and grace just amazing. Rose definitely is a ballroom girl I loved the silence in the background you would be able to hear a pin drop. I’m angry this didn’t get any 10s yeah John and Johannes were amazing and deserved 10s but so did Rose and Giovanni as well to me my favorite dance of the season so far. I hope we see her in the finals and she can do this dance again.
This was just amazing and I think the band also needs praise for deciding to do an instrumental versions, it didnt need singing and because of that it just made it even more beautiful

I've seen Titanic, and it's one of the most heartbreaking films i've ever seen. Rose just brought tears to my eyes when she glided across the floor. She really captured the character of Rose Dawson.

BEAUTIFULLY DONE! it was so beautiful and romantic. Rose is incredibly light and graceful. Her topline was amazing and her head positions were perfect in the fallways and pivots which is a struggle for so many. The standing spin was strong, the musicality was exceptional, her lines were beautiful and it was extremely relaxed and controlled with the footwork. Ballroom is definitely her thing, what is it with Giovanni and Foxtrots! Michelle's was exceptional, then Ranvir's and now Rose! Giving Anton a run for his money! I truly loved it. *9/10* Gawjus

This was totally spellbinding especially at the end with the watch. Unbelievable that she is also deaf How that awful Batman performance got more points I don't know. It is someone like her who should win....no previous dance experience and somehow giving this beautiful performance by other ways than hearing the music.

My favourite of the night! The steps were so beautifully smooth and perfectly executed. Props to her honestly, she is so good with timing so she is now on my list of people to root for! I would give this a 9 mainoy because the only thing thing work on would be maybe the stiffness? I mean it genuinly is very fluid but the shoulders can be a bit stiff at times. Other than that perfection!! Congrats girl

Oh yes. When you're dancing to such an iconic song you want to pull a dance like this out of the bag. Emotional story telling, beautiful frame and very good footwork. Like last week, my only fault is her ankles and feet. If she steps onto her toes, lowers into the ball and then onto the heel this would be a perfect 10. She didn't so it's a 9.
