Thank you Looking into purchasing one of these and the notion of cleaning it- and the lack of information on how to do so - had me feeling anxious. Spray it with coil cleaner and wash it clean with a hose. There's dirt inside of that coil. Also the coil cleaner has a corrosion inhibitor in it for the coil.
An idea for screwdrivers or screws that are not magnetic: Take an oblong, small piece of masking tape, or duck tape. Put the driver in the screw before installing, then wrap the tape around the tip of the driver AND the screw to join them. It works perfectly! THANK YOU for this! ❤❤
If you added air filters on the inlet air inlet opening, less dust would accommodate in the compressor coil area. Then you would have to only clean air filters often.

Do you know what the EC 07 Error code would be on this unit. Can't find anything in the manual or online and mine is now having this issue and shutting off.
If I remember correctly, my first unit threw an EC 07 error (at least I think it was 07, might have been 08) after a month and I believe it was because an internal sensor got wet (due to a design flaw from what I remember reading). I think the main cause it because the unit shouldn't be level, and need the outside part to be on a downward incline so that water doesn't pool up in it. In the end, I had to contact the manufacturer and get it replaced via warranty because there was no fixing it.
How often do you have to clean it? How long do you have the unit? I plan to buy a Midea U-shaped window air conditioner. After watching your video, I begin to have a second thoughts. Thank you for posting.
Since the condenser fan runs when the compressor is operating, the clicking noise is most likely coming from the fan. If the clicking is slow, 1 or 2 clicks per second and intermittent, it is the sling ring throwing condensate water against the condenser coil fins which is the normal operation. However if the clicking noise is much faster, the fan blades may be hitting the condenser coil insulation, a common problem that needs fixing.
