I was at this game, was at school at the time, we thought we were going to lose badly so me and my mate stood in The Holte as it was a quid cheaper if I recall correctly. What a day, we couldn’t contain ourselves, so jealous of everyone rocking in the away end. Wayne Clarke was awesome for us and Stevie Whitton. Good old days.

...3 v. soft give away goals, chaotic defending. Elliot did not get a head to that massive keeper clearance, that set the first goal on a plate.
He was a flop, a big disappointment at centre half but with any other boss apart from Turner, I think the jigsaw could have been more effectively put together. Crowds at Villa Park were slumping alarmingly as the results continued to deteriorate due to a boss who was tactically inept. Ultimately, Ellis has to take responsibility for such a disastrous managerial appointment in the first place. In truth, this was one boss who should have been fired much, much sooner than he actually was. Cost us dear.
