Inspired by a series about the balance of fighting companion games, I present to you a video made by someone who's tired of getting two shotted by VHLs with NSoD all the time.
Absolute bonkers, the stuns from some classes alone already make PvP quite annoying, but add that to high damage classes such as VhL which could potentially stun lock you and KO you before you even realize it PvP has become quite boring and I only do it if I'm really bored.
Aqw guild system is garbage too lmao it doesn't have much depth into it for example no guild war and no guild quest guilds are useless it won't even benefit you
guilds arent useless , there are guild wars too btw but not in every guild some guild does pvp wars and stuff and you can make friends and get help and there are alot of giveaways in my guild where you can win artix points
Aqw is the worst they should seriously delete aqw it wasted my time in useless fight I even reported them again and again in Twitter and told them to delete the boring game
I already talked to some of the Whitehat programmers of AQW that the gun animation was impossible White hat programmers in AQW has Dark Red name in the game
they'll call it "Artifact Collector" or make a stronger version and call it "Evolved Artifact Hunter", like they do with Blademaster and its 400 variants...
I still remember when there was a time sometimes almost everyone would go to yulgar and buy the same outfit, also that the most op class would be hecking necromancer.
This is insane! As for a possible solution, I've seen other MMOs have a system where if you joined a pvp map, it changes your classe from a pve version to a pvp version, one that has nerfed damage and stuns, disables powerful effects, consumables and item damage boosts. meaning that classes fundamentally change in pvp, and these versions get their own balance patches, the get their own buffs and nerfs, and it's doesn't affect the pve version of the class at all. I think applying that in AQW would make so much sense. As always thank you shimi for the amazing video
It seems like a lot of work for aqw. There are near a 1000 classes give or take, to make them all balanced or change them all for pvp outside of pve is smth i dont think they can do since every class is an unique game item. What i think the fix could be is a rotational banning period of sertaint: classes ,amulets ,weapons and items so player got smth to work with and make there own balance. This has nothing to do with your responce but i wish they would intigrate guild activity together wirh the team pvp thing makes both of em more interesting

I haven’t been exactly up to date with it, but I think there’s gonna be too much issues with the new aqw so the pvp problem won’t even be noted. Y’all can correct me, but after watching some videos of ragnarok explain some stuff, AE is trying to make as much money as possible with the last few weeks remaining until flash closes, you know, with the rares coming back recolored and the new 40k ac package; it’s quite obvious. I read some comments saying it’s a pattern a company does when their game starts dying. Honestly, I think they’re not confident aqw mobile is going to be as “good” as aqw is right now. I’m not sure where I’m leading with this, but uh... the pvp issue is too small compared to others, so I’m just saying it’s probably gonna remain broken for a while longer
You are overstating how bad the PVP is. Most of the time it's not that bad. As for the self-damage to win yeah that's stupid and they should fix that, but the other stuff in here is not that bad in actual practice. I hardly ever fight Great Thieves and when I do I sometimes lose or win depending on the class I have equipped. Balancing a PVP system with well over 100+ classes in the game is stupid and unobtainable. They should fix bugs but other than that nothing CAN be done to balance this game's PVP.
I know how this is going to sound but I have a friend who used to work for AE as a writer and he told me when they originally made PVP it such a hassle that it nearly sunk half the dev team so im pretty sure at that they said screw it and gave up rather than go through that mess again.
the Necro death win, is a easter egg aqw put when the class was released. it follows the them of raising the death cuz of necromancer so yeah pretty fun.
PvP was and always will be an afterthought. With the way classes are PvP will never be given attention because there's no way to fix it. Nerfing classes just for PvP isn't worth it. HeroSmash was built with PvP in mind, and that's why they had leaderboards and other big PvP features. Of course things like the DoT tick or self kill can be fixed, but there's not really any reason to fix the PvP system as a whole. PvP is more of a niche thing and the people that take it seriously will battle others that take it seriously with self set rules. Most of the AQW population would only PvP for trophies, and would likely just solo grind it like you showed anyway.
I think, they should rework every class designed for PvP into something good for PvE, and then make a proper PvP where potions don't work, NSoD/BBoA/ETC don't work, and most importantly, player stats and level are reduced/raised to a certain level (like 45-55) so that its a fairer playing field. Maybe half the effectiveness of buffs/debuffs in PvP too, i dunno. Maybe also fix all the glaring issues too, yeah.
the power creep problem, the moment they start to power creep, they already ended the game, when pvp was still fun when it released there was not power creep, no op classes, stronget class are still dragonlord and people cant solo almost any boss , thats when the game was fun
Well, first thing I gotta say, you forgot to mention there's another bug that rarely happends but god is annoying when it does. I call it "Stun Glitch", which well, whenever you or enemy stun each other for some VERY rare reason both of you can't do anything. You both can move but if you try to attack, your skill goes off but doesn't do damage. Is like you're both there saying "Hi". It fixes after some time but still, it has happend to me many times and I don't have any idea of what causes it. Anyway, the fix to the ussie is not as easy as "placing new amulet and monsters, heh!". My ideas are: 1- General Class re-balance: Remove stuns/lower stuns duration and remove hit chance from classes that should not be having them (Cof cof Great Theif) aswell as maybe lowering some number on damage resistance (I think they should place back that VHL stacks up his damage resistance instead of having 50% right away, is so unfair to have Cap max resistance by just pressing one buttom and dealing so much damage at the same time). The game got so many unbalance classes that needs tweaks to work fine on PvE and not beign mosters in PvP. 2- Better sync: This is also something that bothers me to no end and it needs to stop. This doesn't only affects PvP, but PvE aswell. I'm tired of seeing people on spots that they aren't. 3- "Star of the match" and "end of the match" things: One idea that i had is maybe at the start of the match give each player a lot of damage resistance until they are both loading just fine, aswell as some resistance to stuns and such so you can actually do STUFF and not beign one-shotted/stunned right after your screen loaded. Also same thing goes for end of the match things, so you don't have to change your class to remove a DoT or something. 4- Rework Bludrutbrawl: Place everything to today's standars, make the Captian have buffs aswell as resistances to stun and all of that kind of things, same goes to every important mob inside. 5- Ban usables/NSoD: I think is unfair that just a few that took it's time to farm the sword could have that huge adventage. Also, something aside, kinda Pay to Win if you get this sword out of any IoDA just to use it in here. Regardless, I think is an unfair adventage that you can use items in this as not all take they time to farm this items and I understand it. This also will help with the one-shot situation. For the overall items, it's also unfair since not all brings things to the PvP, kinda of a unfair thingy too. Honestly, there so much to be work on. I think what they should do instead of making new stuff, is improving the things we already have. I do believe there's already enough content, just the quality of most of the old things is pretty bad. Good video!
@@xxgoku7774 easy way I guess is on /icestormarena, farm lvl 99 ice spirits(?). 1k+ exp no boosts. hard way is that warlord icewing quest. Idk the total exp that you'll earn. but it's pretty high, as they say.
@@shinramyun doing the warlord ice wing quest gives 75k exp each kill (or 100k if you're a member) without boosts. With a party this is probably the fastest method to leveling up

I think that once you enter the arena your HP should scale with your stats. If your level 100 and have upwards of 800 magical power then your health should be between 20-30,000 HP, and so two people fitting that criteria makes for a more interesting fight imo. AQW battle arena fights happen way too fast for it to be interesting, especially with NSOD, but if both players had the same HP as the dragons in /lair while having the same stats as a regular player then PVP in AQW could actually be really fun.
Tips: you can counter dodge classes with blaze binder as all skills dont misses and most dodge classes dont have high def. so u can burn them with your high dot and burst skills and you can also counter classes like great thief (i'm not sure), MOM class, and artifact hunter class with DOT class.
seeing this after many years after I left pvp when Ninja, pirate, rouge and max VOT and pyro classes were Gods of pvps... after that Max TOH came out.. the pvp was difficult that time and there were no bugs except that private bludrut brawl one 😅 which I used alot. PVP must be crap now...
I feel PvP is broken as well. A decent update will be to nerf classes in PvP and retain their effects when it's PvE. Maybe more updated Bludrut Brawl will be good too(current captain health is too easy to burst down and too weak to kill players) The desync part is a horrible glitch, not sure how they are gonna fix it. Also introduce Guild wars where if you win you get higher placement in new Guild Leaderboards???
They should have a system where you can only use non-op classes (mage, warrior, dragonlord etc.) in pvp. Fighting someone in pvp using non-op classes are actually fun.
theres should be a flat nerf on every stat so matches dont end up dodging indefinitely or getting one shotted, this would mean everyone would have less damage, hp, crit chance and so on
well if ae really want to make pvp a good one they should ban damage boosting items and overpowered classes leaving it to a more old school way of pvp like c tier class and below like the old times
Thank you for addressing these exact reasons why I quit PvP many years ago as a 9+ year player. Also getting lag-stuck in Bludrut Brawl doors makes me wanna commit Necromancer's 1st ability multiple times with no heals....

This why i stick with Sword Master (Blade Master copy) or Sword Master Assassin whichever when i dodge thoughs pesky stuns and unleash 3,2,4,2,4,2,4,5,4,2,3 repeat and with spiral carve for perfection
VHL is overall better than Great Thief in my experience and I have both. VHL just has less counters, and all of its abilities are ranged. Also it doesn't matter if someone hits you 75% of the time because you have such good damage reduction. Great Thief can be easily beaten by tons of classes like Shaman, Evo Shaman, Lord of Order, Master of Moglins, SSoT, Artifact Hunter, Death Knight, and the list goes on. What is VHL consistently beaten by? Nothing except Great Thief so over all it's better.
TBH AE has always been bad at pvp balance. You can tell from what you weird buff/nerf they did in Epicduel their pvp game which is now a pve-ish game ?? i know they are different team working for each game but they are all under 1 roof so i guess we can group them together. Anyways PVP in AQW always has been broken as they do not pay much attention to it as it is not their priority as they do not get the bulk of they money from PVP. They get their money form wioda/ioda/wheel of doom/cosmetics, so i do not think they would fix pvp anytime soon. On a side note draft mode in bludrutbrawl would be nice to prevent every1 running around using SSG/VHL ect and make a variety of class be "meta" but i dont think anyone plays bludrutbrawl actively unless they want to get pvp tokens which they can easily farm privately. Well i feel they should add leaderboards for pvp, so they active pvpers can be rewarded/be "popular" and a tracker showing how many pvp you did on you charpage would also be nice but these are QOL stuff which might just encourage more people to pvp and are obvious suggestion which should already be in game. I have no idea how to improve balance as i do not play much pvp. problem here is if they focus on balancing classes say every 3 months, they would need to do a lot of work for meh-ish rewards unless they buff paywall classes which would be no fun for average players and the nerf/buff might affect the class in pve which might upset people who do not pvp.
pvp matchmaking isn't fair.. I'm at level 40 back then (now 65), and all I hope when the pvp menu shows up, and said "3...2...1..." is to expect my opponent to be someone with lower level character than me. It's the only chance of winning for me, since the last 10 match I only got paired with somebody with 30 level differences than me (lvl 70 vs my lvl 40 character). hoping to paired up against a noob just to have an easy win is a bad mentality to have.. and aqw intentionally or unintentionally foster this kind of mentality.. crushing newbies and feel prideful about it. there's no competition, no fairness, and it makes people in aqw feel egotistical about themself.. I got many people challenge me to a duel simply because I disagree with them on chat. and when I reject because there's a huge gap of lvl, they think my opinion as invalid.. and how a noob should stay quiet as the most powerful in aqw should run the game, and not a noobs. maybe bad pvp system had a little to medium amount of correlation to this mental problem people had on aqw.
They could have encouraged pvp and balanced it by having pvp only classes. Either they being altered versions of current classes or classes that are only usable in pvp.
Aqw should've stopped releasing too many OP classes instead added more features to each classes like skill points, also a cross skill that every class can use in different situations.. and they should've separated cosmetic items from stat items too so it wouldnt be too obvious for aqw to look like a dressup mmo.. and weapons should have fixed level on it. hard to grind weapons like nulgath weapons, legion, BLOD etc would feel alot more rewarding if they were atleast a bit more powerful.. like for ex: An enhanced lvl 100 Default sword shouldn't be as powerful as other hard to grind weapons or rare weapons.. instead it should stay lvl 1 and aqw should add a new enhancement system like enhancing a specific lvl weapons with enhancement stones with different chances of enhancing a weapon.. the higher the level of the enchantment the the lower chances.. like see AE? thats another item to farm for or release as an AC item LOL..
As someone who farmed the Hun'Gar games arena to get rank 10 for a battle pet...pvp is broken and I dont like it haha, this coming from someone who only uses Artifact Hunter and Leprechaun/Yami no Ronin

The only things they update is the story some ui interfaces and weapons they should know its 2020 they refused to balanced the game making trading in game making stuff

Honestly, there so much to be work on. I think what they should do instead of making new stuff, is improving the things we already have. I do believe there's already enough content, just the quality of most of the old things is pretty bad. Good video!

hard way is that warlord icewing quest. Idk the total exp that you'll earn. but it's pretty high, as they say.
@@shinramyun doing the warlord ice wing quest gives 75k exp each kill (or 100k if you're a member) without boosts. With a party this is probably the fastest method to leveling up

I think that once you enter the arena your HP should scale with your stats. If your level 100 and have upwards of 800 magical power then your health should be between 20-30,000 HP, and so two people fitting that criteria makes for a more interesting fight imo. AQW battle arena fights happen way too fast for it to be interesting, especially with NSOD, but if both players had the same HP as the dragons in /lair while having the same stats as a regular player then PVP in AQW could actually be really fun.
It would be cool if you could customise, like balance skills, change damage, maybe even have a timer!

Tips: you can counter dodge classes with blaze binder as all skills dont misses and most dodge classes dont have high def. so u can burn them with your high dot and burst skills and you can also counter classes like great thief (i'm not sure), MOM class, and artifact hunter class with DOT class.
seeing this after many years after I left pvp when Ninja, pirate, rouge and max VOT and pyro classes were Gods of pvps... after that Max TOH came out.. the pvp was difficult that time and there were no bugs except that private bludrut brawl one 😅 which I used alot. PVP must be crap now...
I feel PvP is broken as well.
A decent update will be to nerf classes in PvP and retain their effects when it's PvE. Maybe more updated Bludrut Brawl will be good too(current captain health is too easy to burst down and too weak to kill players)
The desync part is a horrible glitch, not sure how they are gonna fix it.
Also introduce Guild wars where if you win you get higher placement in new Guild Leaderboards???

They should have a system where you can only use non-op classes (mage, warrior, dragonlord etc.) in pvp. Fighting someone in pvp using non-op classes are actually fun.

theres should be a flat nerf on every stat so matches dont end up dodging indefinitely or getting one shotted, this would mean everyone would have less damage, hp, crit chance and so on

VHL is overall better than Great Thief in my experience and I have both. VHL just has less counters, and all of its abilities are ranged. Also it doesn't matter if someone hits you 75% of the time because you have such good damage reduction. Great Thief can be easily beaten by tons of classes like Shaman, Evo Shaman, Lord of Order, Master of Moglins, SSoT, Artifact Hunter, Death Knight, and the list goes on. What is VHL consistently beaten by? Nothing except Great Thief so over all it's better.

The class named "Evolved Dark Caster" is rare, the skill set isn't though.
Evolved is rare but inifinite dark caster which has the same skillset is not

TBH AE has always been bad at pvp balance. You can tell from what you weird buff/nerf they did in Epicduel their pvp game which is now a pve-ish game ?? i know they are different team working for each game but they are all under 1 roof so i guess we can group them together. Anyways PVP in AQW always has been broken as they do not pay much attention to it as it is not their priority as they do not get the bulk of they money from PVP. They get their money form wioda/ioda/wheel of doom/cosmetics, so i do not think they would fix pvp anytime soon.
On a side note draft mode in bludrutbrawl would be nice to prevent every1 running around using SSG/VHL ect and make a variety of class be "meta" but i dont think anyone plays bludrutbrawl actively unless they want to get pvp tokens which they can easily farm privately.
Well i feel they should add leaderboards for pvp, so they active pvpers can be rewarded/be "popular" and a tracker showing how many pvp you did on you charpage would also be nice but these are QOL stuff which might just encourage more people to pvp and are obvious suggestion which should already be in game. I have no idea how to improve balance as i do not play much pvp. problem here is if they focus on balancing classes say every 3 months, they would need to do a lot of work for meh-ish rewards unless they buff paywall classes which would be no fun for average players and the nerf/buff might affect the class in pve which might upset people who do not pvp.
pvp matchmaking isn't fair.. I'm at level 40 back then (now 65), and all I hope when the pvp menu shows up, and said "3...2...1..." is to expect my opponent to be someone with lower level character than me.
It's the only chance of winning for me, since the last 10 match I only got paired with somebody with 30 level differences than me (lvl 70 vs my lvl 40 character).
hoping to paired up against a noob just to have an easy win is a bad mentality to have.. and aqw intentionally or unintentionally foster this kind of mentality.. crushing newbies and feel prideful about it.
there's no competition, no fairness, and it makes people in aqw feel egotistical about themself.. I got many people challenge me to a duel simply because I disagree with them on chat.
and when I reject because there's a huge gap of lvl, they think my opinion as invalid.. and how a noob should stay quiet as the most powerful in aqw should run the game, and not a noobs.
maybe bad pvp system had a little to medium amount of correlation to this mental problem people had on aqw.
They could have encouraged pvp and balanced it by having pvp only classes. Either they being altered versions of current classes or classes that are only usable in pvp.
you forgot to speak about AQW clients they can use non range class with ultimate range in pvp and that will surely ruin you ..
Aqw should've stopped releasing too many OP classes instead added more features to each classes like skill points, also a cross skill that every class can use in different situations.. and they should've separated cosmetic items from stat items too so it wouldnt be too obvious for aqw to look like a dressup mmo.. and weapons should have fixed level on it. hard to grind weapons like nulgath weapons, legion, BLOD etc would feel alot more rewarding if they were atleast a bit more powerful.. like for ex: An enhanced lvl 100 Default sword shouldn't be as powerful as other hard to grind weapons or rare weapons.. instead it should stay lvl 1 and aqw should add a new enhancement system like enhancing a specific lvl weapons with enhancement stones with different chances of enhancing a weapon.. the higher the level of the enchantment the the lower chances.. like see AE? thats another item to farm for or release as an AC item LOL..
As someone who farmed the Hun'Gar games arena to get rank 10 for a battle pet...pvp is broken and I dont like it haha, this coming from someone who only uses Artifact Hunter and Leprechaun/Yami no Ronin
