Please keep this. It’s a one of a kind jewel. I’d fix it and use it. Camp in it and share it with your families. It deserves to have life breathed back into it and to be shared and filled with new memories and happiness.
Keep her, treat her on what she needs and give it a little update here and there(like GPS, solar panel, internet, sound/infotainment system, fridge, etc) but nothing much out of what she already is and yes take her on a good camping trip with a lot of miles ahead.
You gotta keep this one Dave. She deserves a little update and refresh but should be honored as the one of a kind gem she is. Oh and I sure hope you give her a proper air horn and some air ride. What a beauty she is.
I have totally laughed and smiled though out this entire video. I am single mom of two teenage boys and a widow of a man who was JUST LIKE you and your friends. I get such comfort laughing with you all. Although we are down in sweaty Louisiana, just please know that your good and bad times are felt by myself and my boys. My 16 year old is a straight A honors student who is working his first job and saving for a car, you and y’all’s hard work is definitely noticed, felt, and appreciated. Thank you for being good and strong MEN. That is all I can ask the good Lord for for my lil men. Thank you so very much.
I reckon it's a keeper, Dave. Get it back in shape (seems little work required?), use it as a basecamp for when you do heavy recovery work or when visiting Brent up at Cerro Gordo.
Doesn't Dave already have a big motorhome they use as a base camp? I think they should put it on freightliner chassis with nice soft riding airbags so the RV parts don't disintegrate from the rough ride. The 350 SB will probably give up under Dave's foot anyway. A small block is awesome and hard to kill but it's draging around 10,000 lbs. of shoebox! Its currently running empty and he's already unhappy with the power output. Beautiful, unique ride do with at as you see the need.
Personally Dave I have to say you definitely need to KEEP IT. The smile it gave you should be enough to keep it, but the massive smile on your child's faces when they see it will be priceless . The enjoyment and memories there would make in something like that....that's why I say KEEP IT.
I don't recall if you already have something like this, but it would make a good crew transport for when you guys go on longer drives/bigger jobs with more hands on deck.
Think it would be awesome to see you guys completely go through this thing and make it 100%. Stronger axels bigger engine. All wiring cleaned up and redone. Hoses replaced. The whole 9. This is something that needs a chance at a new life.
Give it the works the idea is in effect but it doesn't have your guys touch or feel and I'm sure many people share the same idea as myself I'm just one comment in many and my comment Shares my thoughts only. But I will suggest this when you don't know what to do with something ,I'm here willing and appreciative if I received it . Thank you gentleman for your BAD ASS trips and stories and of course they are close to the heart! The sharing part is what I enjoy and being 200% real makes it that much better my hopes are the stories don't end I have enjoyed every single one! Keep Rocking and God Bless!
Keep it!! Use it as part of the recovery team. So when your out on recovery at least you got a place to stay, so you don't have to drive back multiple hours after a long recovery. Update the the drive terrain to like a chevy 5500 ( since it is a chevy 1 ton any way). Put air bags on it and a good trailer hitch so it can help bring equipment around.
You have to keep it and restore it. Don't mod it too much. Just bring it up to current standards. That thing is one of a kind. There are no others. Don't sell it or give it away. You and your crew know how to get it back to its glory and keep it there.
This old long haul trucker/ homeless Army Veteran who has driven military and commercial trucks around The good Ole USA, Germany, Korea, Kuwait and Iraq would be honored to win that vehicle some day. Keep up the great work.
All I can say, as a truck driver for 43 years, I love it. I know I could never afford it, but that would be awesome to live in. I'm too old to start building something like that now. Enjoy it while you can young man. Thanks for sharing this.
I could happily live in it hook up a trailer and tow my loader from site to site. Park it up for how ever long I'm at the sight somehow figure out how to put my Harly on it and my ute probably on the trailer with the Cat 966 .
Two words - keep it! They don't make RV's OR trucks like these any more. You've got a special ride there that will reward you with enjoyment if you take care of it.
Heavy d in my opinion don't sell don't even let the thought go through your mind this is something that you should keep and cherish due to the fact that the happiness that it brought you when you first saw it was a impressive you can genuinely see the happiness in your eyes and those type of happiness should always stick around❤❤ she's an amazing vehicle of art 🎨
I showed this video to my dad who was a diesel mechanic for almost 40 years. I think he teared up when the reveal was made and his opinion was to keep it as something like that doesn't come around often enough
Keep it. Just do some up grades on the inside like the seats could use an upgrade and a dealer on the bathroom walls which makes it water proof. Use it for doing rescue and recoveries when you travel. No need for motel rooms. Add a couple of bunk beds and a pull out where the minimum chair is behind the passenger seat and use it.
Keep it around man, when you've got a long multi day job keep it with you for the crew to have some quality time together in the evenings. Trust me, I work with a race team, the social time we have helps us work quicker and know how to communicate better with eachother on a personal level. Gets the job done
Don’t sell it, and if you do give it away, make sure it goes to someone who will love it, and leave it as is, obviously the guy who built it, did an amazing job and it’s something that should be preserved it’s truly one of a kind, there will never be another one. I’m so excited for you guys getting this and enjoying it, I hope to see more of it on your channel. And I really hope it doesn’t end up with someone that won’t appreciate its value.
I lost my buddie stu 2 years ago and he was a huge diesel brothers fan. He even looked like heavy D . That smile at 6 mins reminded me of my buddie!! Keep on living life to the fullest guys . ❤️
Man that camper is so cool it's a Jem. Some retired Truck Driver who has the love of the road and the memories of their old truck would love to have it as you love it. I myself would keep it at least for a while. Share your happiness! with your family and friends. Gosh I love this video. 🥰With you all's smiles I smiled all the way through it. thanks for sharing.
7 days ago my husband sent me the link from Facebook marketplace to this!! He wanted it so bad! Unfortunately we live in MI, and being the wife just smiled and said ummm Why? And thought he lost his mind! He is a fan of Freightliner and thought this was the most amazing thing ever! After seeing your video and how amazing it is inside and out, I have to admit my husband missed out on something pretty darn cool! Congrats and enjoy!!
I was born and raised in Yuab City CA! I still live here. I wish I had known that you were in town it would have been awesome to meet you. It is so cool to know all the stops and streets that you were driving on.
I say renovate and keep it as a camper for the fleet while out on missions. Having a kitchen, restroom and sleeping space on long recoveries would be pretty bad ass.
Yeah this actually seems to fit you guys. Keep it. Diesel swap, obviously. Freshen it up. Keep it. Maybe make it a shop camper that employees can use whenever they want. A build series on this would be great to watch.
I was about to say the same thing, given his background could you imagine a diesel swap like they are capable of, full frame replacement, turn it into what it looks like a semi camper with semi guts and an interior renovation to the original layout in the book that came with it. I could see easily a 20 video series on it. Bad ass!
Wow!! That is an RV my hubby would love. Hes an OTR Truck driver. I love this!! 3 years and he retires. We will be going south for the winter but a camper because he said he wouldnt want an RV. Hed love this one though.
You need a support vehicle for the field work, a bathroom, a fridge, a place for resting a little, to make a coffee, for the crew wait if rains, this thing is perfect for that.
Keep it!! Like everyone has said, that's not something that exists anywhere and no one else, I believe, will give it the love and attention it deserves. Especially though, its a great thing to hand down to the kids. I know you've taught them a love for vehicles and how to care for them. Let them take it over and lets see how many generations that baby can last!
That rounded aluminum wide trim absolutely makes the entire combination meld together SO perfectly. The guy that created this thing knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Such a cool thing for sure. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
You need to KEEP this beautiful lady and make some precious memories camping with your family x then pass it on through the family and let them make precious memories with their family and so on xx love from the uk xx
Keep it. And dont rip it apart. What makes it special is how it looks inside and out. Remember how you felt when you first saw it. Yes tires and hoses and probably suspension. But don't rip apart as what makes it that good is how it is now.
The smile on your face was permanent as soon as you saw it. You should keep it and take family out for fun. If you do decide to give away maybe try to find a family member of the creator.
I’ve seen smiles on Dave‘s face before, but this one beats them all!! The amount of work and craftsmanship is unbelievable let alone that somebody didn’t destroy it!! My first trip would be right to Yellowstone!! 👍👍
I don't understand how I never watched this video considering I watch every video. But The inside of this unit was like stepping back into time for a moment. That guy built something that I think every person on earth could appreciate in one way or another.
What a cool build! Even though the GM 350 sounds and runs well, that's a LOT of mass for a small block to be dragging around.😜 I think a 5.9 Cummins would be much better suited for the task, and get better fuel mileage to boot! Nice find Dave! It's definitely a keeper, and I think you guys could turn this into a very reliable and fun camper!😉👍
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ Deuteronomy 18:20 - "But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die."
Make it a mobile command centre for the recoverys, high speed tinternet, communications hub for the entire team. So when you pull up to a recovery, Your ready to go in full action.. Also with the amount of food you eat, Maybe some kinda cooking station. It could be a awesome add, CCTV cameras so whoever is running the inside can see what's happening outside, triple the power so that big search lights etc can be used, Big screen on the side for meetings, Equipt for all the different recoveries you do, 👍
Approximately 38 years ago my first husband and I met a couple in Reno,NV that were selling off their extra trucks and retiring to actually get to see/ visit all the places they had delivered to over a 40 year family owned trucking company career. They kept their favorite cab over Freightliner & had the frame extended so they could have a custom body built on it, then had the interior done to the wife's specifications. The truck motor was upgraded some but kept original, (they couldn't sleep without their "truck" running)! They were only sticking around to sell the last truck before they started their next adventure. The pictures they showed us were fabulous!
Finally got to watch this video and smiled the whole time. If ever a vehicle deserves to stay in the fleet, it's this one. Now, it needs some love. New tires, belts and hoses. A bigger power plant. And it needs to join 2023. I would recommend solar panels on the roof, power inverter and a Starlink system. Why? Because I can see this rig as a bunkhouse/portable command center on extended projects. And, since Hans thought it might have been used for smuggling, why not name it the Millennium Falcon? Those smuggling spots are perfect for the 2023 upgrades to be inconspicuous.
It looks like you bought the right rig for an "Evel Knievel Stuntman Starter Set". Just get a matching enclosed trailer to pull behind it, and a leather jumpsuit with a cape, and you're in business! That thing is awesome!!!
Pretty cool! I would definitely do some mechanical upgrades. And get it completely reliable. The diamond tuck and roll and interior is awesome. Please don’t mess with that much. Then upgrade the kitchen appliances and make the back a cool little room area. And probably put hard wood floors in. Definitely needs some mood lights in there. What a score! Keep it 😉
HeavyD Iwould like to start 6 months ago i found your channel through Mike Patey Draco ! Which intern has gotten mee too your channel and all that you have posted . You are a true entrepreneur and i commend you ! Awesome motor home enjoyed seeing your smile even with the tire problems . I have a few stories like that myself . Freightliner has put many of there chassis under motor homes which I have one . That brings me to my thought for you young man . In true Heavy D and D/P enterprises i think your first build was a dodge pickup !st generation . i have been a Chev man all my life but it time heavy to put the 350 to rest . Can you feel it Dave old school12v cummings front mount allison auto i have a dolphin 32' 12v that I have gone through and pumped it up great motor no Def , look forward to watching the build
EDIT: From a distance, it sure looks straight. I can't imagine the time and effort someone put into making this look so seamless. This was definitely someone's baby. You know... if I was driving along and saw this beauty of a rig, there's no one else I'd expect to see driving it besides the HeavyD crew... 2nd runner up would be Jay Leno. I have no doubt that the ole rig brings about smile from everyone. Definitely found a gem.
Paint your military green with a military star on the side, interior needs upgrades a flatscreen TV on the wall somewhere and put Some off-road tire really make a monster out of it. Navigation definitely have to have a greater sound system
very cool buy, D! I like it! .... couple suggestions, (1) change the headlights back to the original Freightliner units and upgrade the lights to what Matt has on the MORRvair. (2) change the wheels/tires to Alcoa polished 22.5's with super single tires both front and rear, (and spare too) (3) do not install the purple under-glow lights that you've been thinking about.🤔
This episode was freaken amazing.Guy who chose the music for this video was spot on.Don't sell it Dave it's a gem.The quality of these videos it outstanding.Always excited when i see a notification for a new Heavy D video. This was one of my favorite vids and the one where u rescued the house boat on Lake Mead.Hope we will see a Cerro Gordo video again soon, that place is amazing.
Keep it, Build it better ... maybe a nice cummins conversion, Air ride suspension & a retro style refresh to make it actually functional for a cross country drive. Mainly though add POWER!
Ok, that “orchard dryer” you came across is actually a spray rig used to apply pesticides to fruit and nut trees. Not a turbine. Not a dryer. We get plenty of hot and bone dry weather here in NorCal to do that for us, trust me. Great find on the camper/bus thingy though. Super cool.
Dave, it is OBVIOUS that you fell in love with this thing as soon as you saw it! You should keep it and use it to enjoy some time with you and your family and friends. However, if you do decide to do something with it other than keep it, perhaps you would consider donating it to a non profit or Veterans organization. Just a thought! Keep up the good work!!!! Love your videos!
I think you should keep it. It’s one of a kind you gotta treat yourself and your family. Excited to see what you do with the thing! Really want to see the heavy D interior restoration
Whatever you do please do a complete restoration of this entire vehicle. I love the retro look! Add solar, new electronics and make it something you would want. Keep it its too cool!
That would make a good home to some one who lost their job who just turned 65 and recently disabled. To top it off trans too. The trifecta of what not to do later in life. Drive semi 21 years. Now trying to buy Freightliner cargo van to be able to go back to work. Good luck gentlemen.
I guess I am a bit jealous with you being able to buy pretty much what you want. I should mention that as a 100% disabled veteran who can't afford to replace a computer from 2015. I do enjoy your video and always get a smile out of all your actions. So keep up the great videos.
That is a really nice machine. You should really build one for one of your giveaways. Picture the same thing, but instead of using just the cab, you use the whole tractor put 4-wheel drive some off-road tires, and then it could be truly a go any were off-road camper. I bet you could do it and make a truly amazing machine.
Absolutely keep it. Let it make an appearance now & then. Would love to have something like this, was actually nearly set to start building custom campers, but then lost my day job to the economy & that was the end of that. One of a kind unit, though. Used to drive trucks once upon a time, too.
I fell in love with it when I thought it was a Freightliner. Reminded me of my old driving days with my conventional Freightliner. 400 Cummins, 4 x 5 Spicers and 411 rears, that baby would fly. Broke my heart to find out it was basically a Winnie with a Freightliner cab shell. It's pretty, but I think my shuttle bus might have more room. Need enough for a forever home. You guys have fun with it.
I saw that advertised on my local marketplace. I love sending my father in law weird ads that he would also find interesting. This rig definitely qualifies as something intriguing and desirable. Enjoy it. Don’t sell it for a while. Work at getting lots of use out of it with your family. It’s such a cool rv.
This Rig alone gets a Sub and the Thumbs Up .. simply amazing .. every trucker's retirement dream .. Did I hear correctly that it's a 350 V8 "gasser" .. or is that a 350 Cummins in there?? .. if it's a swap, I would loved to have seen it with the original Cummins Diesel still in place, but I understand the Gasser for convenience at the pump .. and judging by the color of the fuel leak/flush (lol) and the hose/nozzles on the fillups it looks like gas.
Hey Dave.... Another great find you just had to have. And can't blame you one little bit. One of a kind for sure. She's clean, straight, and runs pretty well for the most part. As you say, you're not sure just what you'll do with it yet?? Keep it, sell it, give it away, who knows?? Just listening to your options and this popped into my mind as a thought.............. First off would be to give it a complete once over. Checking all mechanical, complete set of new tires, and ANY thing else that needed to be done to get it up to TIP TOP condition. Then you keep it........ BUT............. Not as a personal toy. Make it like a company benefit. You've got so many great people working for you. Everyone in the shop, the videos guys, I'm sure office people that we never even see............ So I'm sure some of those folks would love maybe the option of being able to use it at times. Vacation time rolls around and someone wants to go camping for a week. So OK, no problem, here you can use the FreighLiner RV. OH, and by the way..... Thanks for all your hard work. !!! Bet a few of your employees would love that............. Anyhow....... Just a rambling thought. :)
damn that front cab with the lighting hitting it like that reminds me of those old train cars with the observatory platforms and plush interiors. amazing find guys
Facebook marketplace is so underrated. I found a $12,000 electronics lab scope being sold as gold salvage elctronics. I sold the rubber keyboard pad off the front of the unit for 3x what I paid for the entire thing... all the logic modules & daughter boards just slowly sell over time to people who need them for repair. This thing was for sale for weeks too apparently with no bites, two seconds after seeing the first image though I knew it was special.
I have the same stuff happen but I make a bunch of friends by explaining what they have and where to market it. Then I get random messages all the time of "please let me give you a bit of cash for helping me, please." Wife calls me dumb but I rarely accept any cash. Friends and Connections are way better!
Those are some rare and special qualities you have yourself their!! But do you know what? We all, everyone, possess these special qualities it just needs a little effort to make a difference and make life worth living. Make that change.
Probably my favorite video as of now, great laidback story, the”RV” is definitely cool as ever, I think definitely a paint job like the Snowman’s rig with the outlaws holding up the stagecoach 😎 added to the side… the 70s racing stripes are too cool to not keep but maybe make them root beer brown and tan to match the mural on the side… I’d put a nice newer quiet diesel engine so it can pull toys, maybe add an outdoor kitchen or just modernize it some. But keep it old school, and then you probably need to fly me out there and give it to me! Hahaha! I’d use that thing as much as possible! .. I guess I’d find a family that needs/ deserves something like it … I’d definitely make sure it had an 8track with plenty of Waylon, Neil Diamond etc… you guys are doing a great job at making a living and taking us along… thank you for what y’all do for veterans and less fortunate people. 😊 🚐🚛🚚🎖️🪖
This video proves the pure joy marketplace can bring to any group of dudes . My buddy and I have had the same conversations going to pick up a marketplace treasure .
Love the camper! I’d update the drivetrain, maybe back to deisel.(would only be fitting). Big manual 5 speed. Then I’d use the neck out of it. I bought a Jeep gladiator and a nice camper a few years ago. Wife had a heart attack and we’ve had to cut way down on our plans, so that would be a great camper rig for an old truck driver.
Dave, That thing pulls boats, a big boat at that, give the interior a hard use with the same interior you did the black hawk, then use it for extreme things
I love it. It is just the Engineer in me all over! I am a Fitter/Turner by Trade, but I have worn many Caps in the past 36 years from Apprentice to Production Engineer! Currently Spiralweld repairing components for the Marine and Power Industry in the UK. We are now a dying breed over the Pond! We make so little here now and we once were leaders of the Game! You guys Rock 🍻👌
I thought you were gonna cry, Dave, when you first opened the door. So retro & clean!!! I would love to see you enjoy it with your family, let your extended family enjoy it, if & before you sell or whatever you decide to do. Excited to see upgrades, too! Will you keep it retro, or modernize??? Either will be great to see. I think I am a "dinosaur" fan of yours. I am a partially disabled senior. I have traveled very little, never been off-roading, never really camped, etc. I love the whole crew & enjoy being part of your adventures. I became a big Cerro Gordo fan, after watching all the work y'all did up there. We live in Southern California, so certainly could access CG & many other places. Blessings to you, your beautiful family, & The Crew.
That RV is original and can't be duplicated. There's not one single thing about it that's "retro". "Retro" is a modern copy of older design. The new Mustang, Camaro and Challenger are all "Retro" designs that take styling cues from older models if you need an example.
You guys have connections everywhere you go and if something would happen you know they would be there to bail you out. That’s why I enjoy watching your videos because one never knows what crazy things you are going to get into next.
Personally I'd love to have it. As a homeless Navy veteran, it would be my home till I pass on. You guys are the best and love your builds an all you do for people. God bless you'll
The only thing that seems missing is a passenger entrance so they don't have to enter through the cab doors. Personally I'm not too big on the late 80s - early 90s vibe of the upholstery but it is what it is. Keep her and cherish her. Take her places like the Saline Valley or the border lands north of Death Valley National Park or to Bryce Canyon. The thing is She is a call to having an adventure. So don't sell her or give her away. I would not give it away if I owned it. I'd have to find someone willing to go on the road with me. After all, Adventures should be shared. In any case I'm glad you found it.
I hope you keep her!!! ❤ You should fix her up and get her ready for a camping trip. It would be a great way to vacation somewhere such as Yellowstone. Wherever you go, I think it will make some great memories. Definitely worthy of keeping in the family forever ❤ You'd never find another like her. Imagine your grandkids someday telling their kids about the adventures you guys had in this thing! ❤
Find a semi frame and motor/ trans and swap em out. Use semi wheels and tires and make it the ultimate 1 of 1 toter home/ road trip machine. Perfect for a bumper pull trailer/ looks bad ass and can definitely haul for thousands of miles with little downtime.
Dude!!! I was so bummed when this thing disappeared off of marketplace. I was going to snag it up but hadn't had a free weekend to do so. I'm so stoked that you ended up with it and it's way cleaner than I thought. I was going to put a 5.9 Cummins in it and road trip the crap out of it. Such an awesome rig. So stoked that it's in great hands.
That was one of the most satisfying "Daymmmmn"'s I've ever heard. Ya this needs a custom matching toy hauler trailer to go with it. You wanna go truly nuts a matching boatorhome toy hauler trailer.
Please keep this. It’s a one of a kind jewel. I’d fix it and use it. Camp in it and share it with your families. It deserves to have life breathed back into it and to be shared and filled with new memories and happiness.
That would make an awesome camper van to live in
A classic you can't buy another.. Would hate to see them get rid of it 😢😮💖🇦🇺

dont give it away dave, the expression of joy on your face when you opened the cab will always be cherished, keep it for you and the team
Fucking A brother a cab over freightliner motorhome. Thats gotta be a collector pc if its not a frankenbus

Two words - keep it! They don't make RV's OR trucks like these any more. You've got a special ride there that will reward you with enjoyment if you take care of it.
They never made RV's like it, this was a custom one off by an individual.
I agree!
Keep it or give it to one person. But they better love it like you.
I Agree.!!!
He's not going to let you live this down, ever lol!
Shes a keeper i dont think anyone else will give her the love she deserves
I’m absolutely loving this thing. A truck driver for 20 years the cab over is awesome. What ever you do please document everything.
I was born and raised in Yuab City CA! I still live here. I wish I had known that you were in town it would have been awesome to meet you. It is so cool to know all the stops and streets that you were driving on.
This is the kind of thing that needs to be your home at a cleetus and cars event.
That would be cool
Hell yeah brother!
Or a 454 will do,,but Diesel is sure bet!
@@jorgeb9715 watch them convert if into a mobile rescue unit for emergencies like if they have to camp on a site or somthing
Or when collaboration's fly in 🤷🏼♀️ OR AIR B & B it for y'all...
LIFT IT!!!! MAKE IT A 4X4 OVERLANDING RIG!!! "THE FREIGHTLANDER" !!!!
Maybe update it a tad, but I admit it looks amazing!
The smile on your face was permanent as soon as you saw it. You should keep it and take family out for fun. If you do decide to give away maybe try to find a family member of the creator.
If you give it away, why not a family that has fallen on hard times or a homeless Veteran????)
I’ve seen smiles on Dave‘s face before, but this one beats them all!!
The amount of work and craftsmanship is unbelievable let alone that somebody didn’t destroy it!!
My first trip would be right to Yellowstone!! 👍👍
The "Craftsmanship" 😂
I almost bought this thing last week. The world is weirdly small.
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ SPAMMER
@@jaredslattery4584how much was it selling for on marketplace?? Do you know??
I don't understand how I never watched this video considering I watch every video. But The inside of this unit was like stepping back into time for a moment. That guy built something that I think every person on earth could appreciate in one way or another.
What a cool build! Even though the GM 350 sounds and runs well, that's a LOT of mass for a small block to be dragging around.😜 I think a 5.9 Cummins would be much better suited for the task, and get better fuel mileage to boot! Nice find Dave! It's definitely a keeper, and I think you guys could turn this into a very reliable and fun camper!😉👍
5.9 swap colab with power driven diesel
My thoughts exactly.
When i see truck cab i expect truck motor.
Definitely needs a swap. That’s not enough muscle :(
These guys ARE the Diesel Bros.
It could be a awesome add, CCTV cameras so whoever is running the inside can see what's happening outside, triple the power so that big search lights etc can be used, Big screen on the side for meetings, Equipt for all the different recoveries you do, 👍
When you go out on overnight recoveries or trips, this rig will be epic. Build it up strong.
That is just the greatest thing I have ever seen. It is like something a retired trucker that can’t have a cal anymore would run. Awesome!
I think Dave loves the hunt more than the actual vehicles he buys.
You've got a piece of history in your hands. The only thing to do is restore, preserve, and use it as intended!
Keep it 😉
Keep it,it’s meant for you guys. It brought a smile to you and just imagine the memories to come with the fam on that gem.
You should restore it and use it to stay in on the overnight recoveries. Your guys will love it.
1000000000%
Throw another axle on it make it more semi truck
EDIT: From a distance, it sure looks straight. I can't imagine the time and effort someone put into making this look so seamless. This was definitely someone's baby.
You know... if I was driving along and saw this beauty of a rig, there's no one else I'd expect to see driving it besides the HeavyD crew... 2nd runner up would be Jay Leno. I have no doubt that the ole rig brings about smile from everyone. Definitely found a gem.
I'd send the boys on personal family camping trips and put some of the highlights in a video. You guys work hard and deserve some time off.
Did you mean CAMPING?
@@theone2be33 yup iam dyslexic af lol
All they do is have time off
Paint your military green with a military star on the side, interior needs upgrades a flatscreen TV on the wall somewhere and put Some off-road tire really make a monster out of it. Navigation definitely have to have a greater sound system
The craftsmanship in this is insane! It is a time capsule for sure.. there was so much pride into this build.
very cool buy, D! I like it! .... couple suggestions,
(1) change the headlights back to the original Freightliner units and upgrade the lights to what Matt has on the MORRvair.
(2) change the wheels/tires to Alcoa polished 22.5's with super single tires both front and rear, (and spare too)
(3) do not install the purple under-glow lights that you've been thinking about.🤔
This episode was freaken amazing.Guy who chose the music for this video was spot on.Don't sell it Dave it's a gem.The quality of these videos it outstanding.Always excited when i see a notification for a new Heavy D video. This was one of my favorite vids and the one where u rescued the house boat on Lake Mead.Hope we will see a Cerro Gordo video again soon, that place is amazing.
Don't tell them that ,the only music worse than this is tinkling on a piano trying to gain sympathy
Keep it, Build it better ... maybe a nice cummins conversion, Air ride suspension & a retro style refresh to make it actually functional for a cross country drive. Mainly though add POWER!
As a Daimler Trucks/Freightliner employee... seeing Dave's face really did my heart good ❤
I absolutely love seeing how excited you guys get over projects and helping others! Heavy D your smile lit up the sky!
Demolition Matt is kicking himself for buying that school bus right now.
That would make a good home to some one who lost their job who just turned 65 and recently disabled. To top it off trans too. The trifecta of what not to do later in life. Drive semi 21 years. Now trying to buy Freightliner cargo van to be able to go back to work.
Good luck gentlemen.
Sparks and crew are going to single-handedly start a new mega fad of rolling in retro motor homes.
Not just them but alot of these UA-camrs are increasing the price of junk..
You been under a rock for the past 10 years?
@@bmdubclub9933 I noticed that with square body 1500 chevys. The moment people found out they keep ticking, boom, 5-10G. I think it fell off though.
I guess I am a bit jealous with you being able to buy pretty much what you want. I should mention that as a 100% disabled veteran who can't afford to replace a computer from 2015. I do enjoy your video and always get a smile out of all your actions. So keep up the great videos.
There's nothing I like more than seeing men and big machines😀 The smile on their faces is gold!
“I don’t even have this much paperwork for my own kids” just about killed me 🤣🤣
Hey Dave....
What a perfect little crew hauler for all the crazy jobs you guys do 👌.
Nice work Dave 👍
Customise it, make it your own but definitely KEEP IT IN THE FAMILY!!!
damn that front cab with the lighting hitting it like that reminds me of those old train cars with the observatory platforms and plush interiors. amazing find guys
Obviously the person who built her did it with love. Keep the love going and update her with your own vision. Let us know how that goes.
I don't know how it's underrated.... It's pretty much the #1 place people buy and sell random stuff and vehicles these days
I have the same stuff happen but I make a bunch of friends by explaining what they have and where to market it.
Then I get random messages all the time of "please let me give you a bit of cash for helping me, please."
Wife calls me dumb but I rarely accept any cash.
Friends and Connections are way better!
Marketplace is full of treasure! Love it. Also, the funny “I know what I got” posts, crack me up every time lol
Yellowstone
Its crazy how I saw this in a Facebook video a few hours ago and now Heavy D bought it, keep up the good work guys.
Vintage may be a good analysis.
Great find, it really needs a diesel and maybe some alcoa style rims to match the front end. Then it will be really nice 👌
That's not '80s interior... full on '70's
There is nothing eighties or nineties about this interior that is straight seventies Van life upholstery
Passengers entrance at the back Passenger side of the motor home.
So stoked that it's in great hands.
a big diesel would be VERY NICE (hint hint Dave!!!!)
@@bluecollardadventures2338 Is a 5.9 Cummins what we're calling a "big diesel" these days?
Keep it in the family, you look like the kind a guy that can take care of it

That was one of the most satisfying "Daymmmmn"'s I've ever heard. Ya this needs a custom matching toy hauler trailer to go with it. You wanna go truly nuts a matching boatorhome toy hauler trailer.
