2017 Arizona Wilderness Wapiti with Randy Newberg (Day 4)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 гру 2017
- It’s Day 4 of this Arizona wilderness elk hunt. Elk bugling at night and heading to bed at first light seems to be a recurring theme on this full moon hunt. The morning sit is slow, and with no plan, Randy starts to use his calls. A half-hearted bugle gives the crew hope and they move in on the bull. Randy hands the reigns of the calling over to Ty Stubblefield, who is no stranger to the bugle tube and elk diaphragm. Unfortunately the lack of interest from the bull and swirling winds causes the hunt to be put on stand-by.
After a mid-day siesta, Ty and Marcus hear a strange, faint sound in the distance… Is it an elk? a burro? a bear? or are they just playing a prank on Randy? Watch and find out!

Can you imagine walking around with your Dad at 12 years old and you run across Randy Newberg? That would be like running into Chuck Adams in our day.
As a Native American hunter myself, man, I really appreciate your kind gestures towards this animal, I find it very respectful to send them off myself to a better place while admiring there life enough to help support yours.
Thank you!!
Some ask where my tradition of putting antlers in trees originated. I grew up next to a reservation in MN and I had a lot of friends who were Native Americans. They would put them in trees and explained to me that it was an offering. I started doing that out of respect of them, and for the memories it gives me of times spent with them. Now, most our audience thinks I crazy. But, I still hang shed antlers in trees, crazy or not. Thanks for watching.
Randy Newberg, Hunter - I’m with the Oglala’s from the 1st nations of the lakotas.. (if it matters or what) you got my respect!!! Thanks;)
That's a great Elk Randy. Congrats! Thanks for sharing with us.
You don't need the right words to express your gratitude Randy. Your body language and the emotion on your face says it all! Congratulations on a hell of a hunt and a hell of a shot.
That opening shot was amazing. I love Az.
Time lapse at the end was visually amazing. Congrats Randy and crew.
Thanks for watching.
I want to thank you for sharing another great video. I especially like the way you've shown respect and reverence to the game you hunt in all of your hints. No matter the species, you thank them for all they've given you.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us. Since I'm not physically able to get out in the great outdoors anymore, I rely on you to feed my adventurous spirit.
Stan
Thanks for watching.
I listened to the podcast covering this hunt, & it was great. It's awesome to see Ty, I sure do miss him with the Bro-ther hood boys back in Oregon
Thanks for watching.
So pleased to see you Ty!! Especially helping a fellow Minnesotan! Randy grew up about 65-70 miles north of me in Minnesota!! Awesome job and great work!!
Thanks for watching. Be careful when Ty is in your camp. He is the world's most persistent prankster.
Nice bull, that weird knuckle on the sixth antler looked cool!
What a Beautiful Bull Elk , I love your videos and I can't wait for this Hunting Season to open , I wish everyone a safe and Great Hunting Season .
You are a very blessed man. I come home after work to watch your videos to relax. I love that you don't take it for granted that you get to harvest all over the U. S.
I hope I never take it for granted. Thanks for watching.
That’s what it’s all about!! Great job guys, awesome video once again!!
Thanks. Appreciate you following along.
Nice work. Randy - one thing I admire about your style is that you are never in a hurry. Mirrors how I like to hunt.
There is a time to be in a hurry, but not very often. Thanks for watching.
Got to the end good to see ya ty been following you with born and raised for years missing the camo smiley face good luck to you and god bless
Thanks for watching.
Randy congrats first off but I want to say thank you for the respect and gratitude you showed for the life of such magnificent animal. That right there sir is why yours is the only hunting show I have watched in years. On that note that hat reminded me of Fred Bear👍🏻
Maybe that was one for Fred's old hats. Thanks for watching.
Another awesome hunt! So sorry you weren't feeling well, I could tell your energy was a little low, but your passion and love of elk carried you through. You are an inspiration to us all.
Thanks. And thanks for watching.
Congratulations on a nice bull, Randy! Watching your videos is making me more determined than ever to get myself into shape to tackle elk terrain. An elk hunt has always been my dream and I hope some day to make it come true.
I hope you make that dream come true. Good luck.
Waidmanssheil, love the day by day hunting videos.
Good to hear. Thanks for watching.
You guys had me laughing with that hat!Seems like most of the public land I've hunted Elk on when I call I either hear nothing back or another hunter calling to me. Sometimes you have to go out in the middle of the night to get a true reflection of what's out there. I hunted in Black Oak Canyon near Flag for Mule Deer about 20 years ago.
The words for your wanting to say gratitude...Thank you Lord!
Oh my gosh I needed a good laugh this morning heading in the work thank you so much RANDY love your show
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the fix, works great!
Very nice Bull! Really enjoyed the video and it was a pleasure to meet you in MT! My buddy and I both got deer and had a fun trip!
Good to hear. Thanks for watching.
Congrats. Nothing like sharing the experience with a great group of friends. Camera man was killing those calls too.
It was a blast. Thanks for watching.
I always enjoy watching Randy hunt. What a handicap to have two cameramen and a guy dressed in red and blue following him.
You’re an awesome shot Randy!!thanks for another awesome hunt
Thanks for watching.
I’m hooked on your videos, great footage!
Thanks for watching.
Great video. My grandfather used to watch Wahoo and Blackjack Mulligan. My favorite was Haystack Calhoun.
Glad I'm not the only one who finds humor in old wrasslin' stories.
Great hunt !!! Funny group of guys.
Such a cool hunt! And wow, Ty can call. Congrats on an awesome bull.
Ty knows how to strike up the band, for sure.
You guys are just being kind....
Another great video!!! I love the passion you have for the hunt and the animals you harvest. I have a ton of respect for you. Keep up the great work. I would love to see you do a hunt in Utah.
Thanks. We did a UT elk hunt three years ago. Also have a UT deer hunt coming out in the next few months.
Randy Newberg, Hunter I did enjoy watching your Utah elk hunt. Looking forward to watching your Utah deer hunt. What part of the state did you hunt deer?
Ty adds excitement to everything !
Yes, he does.
Congratulations Randy that is a very hard tag to fill and a very nice bull!
There were bulls everywhere up there about 15 years ago...but now it's tough. Great job.
Thetinebroken I agree
I think this is the last season they will be trying to knock those elk numbers down, as they feel they have reduced them to a level that has allowed the aspen to regenerate.
Awesome video thank you
I have so much respect for you and the way you hunt, at least it not about the horns and you don't carry a tape measure in your pocket, love the way you praise the animal after the harvest, watch all your vid's and love every one of them. Good luck on your liver
Thanks for the kind comments. Glad you like what we produce. Appreciate you watching.
Good job Randy and team. Awesome video!!!
Thanks for watching.
Oh dang I have that bulls Shed! Definitely that bull with the not up on the sixth. Found it up top this year! Wow!
How cool is that.
Randy my last name is Stubblefield. I’ve been a fan of you and Ty for years. It’s been a dream of mine to hunt Elk with you or Ty. True story!
The fast forward editing in the ending clip was awesome!
Thanks for watching.
awesome hunt great shooting and getting it done in a low density place congrats
Thanks. Thanks for watching.
Awesome!
Great stuff Randy. Been hanging to see how this hunt turned out ! Just awesome stuff. From Simon. Down Under Australia
Glad you followed along.
Dude it’s ty from bro...great to see ya man
What a great job Randy!!
Thanks for watching.
This group has to stick together because this hunt was hilarious! Randy, You better hit the beach For a little R&R At the end of this season lol. You earned it
It was a ton of fun, for sure.
I commented yesterday but something happened and it is gone. Anyway....I said I loved the video and the Wahoo McDaniel reference sealed the deal!
Thanks for watching. Glad you liked that humor.
Nice work guys!
Thanks for watching.
Congrats buddy. Nice bull
Thanks.
That's is one hell of a shot. Congrats.
Everyone benefits from a little luck ;). Thanks for watching.
Wrestling is real! We're number one!
Stylish!!!!!! Haha :) awesome video!!
What an experience Randy!! Great to follow along throughout this Arizona Wilderness series! Guess the camera guys weren't pullin your leg LOL.
Nope, they were serious about that bugle they heard. Thanks for watching.
Good job Randy!
Thanks for watching.
Randy you are hard on the elk population, then you have Ty in the mix. WHEREs the challenge? LOL. Great hunt. Fantastic Elk. Another hardy Howa handshake. Keep up the good work.
We have our good days and some days the elk school us.
Nice BIG bull Randy btw!!
Thanks for watching.
love your videos
New Subscriber! I love watching your videos! Nice bull on what was obviously a tough hunt!
Thanks for watching.
Would love to hunt with you guys next time you come to AZ!
To steal a line from Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack, "What do you get, a free bowl of soup with this hat? Oh,,,,,it looks good on you though....."
You the man Randy!
Glad you liked that piece. Thanks for watching.
"the three elk that live here" hahahahaha. sure seems like there would be more elk, must be one per like 47,000 square miles or so. great series, excellent
Thanks for watching.
Wahoo McDaniel, blast from the past.
I wondered how many would get that bit of humor.
Congrats Randy I know you don't know me you have responded to a few of my comments from time to time I feel like you are a friend. I grew up in Flag looking at that Mountain I have hunted Arizona all my life . I am in Tennessee right now be going home in the spring . this video got me home sick haha. I hope to meet you one day swap some stories for a bit anyhow as I said good job on a nice little Arizona Bull.
Hope you get home to that mountain and chase some elk. Thanks for watching.
Thank you . When I do I hope I have as much fun as you did . PS You get to feeling better my liver gives me trouble from time to time Milk thistle every night with a glass of water does wonders .
Your friend there in the navy blue down jacket is a dead giveaway on you guys. Deer and elk see blue multiple times of intensity greater than we do so it's like a neon or fluorescent blue to them. Give that guy some camo, kacki or blaze orange to put over that thing.
Great to see you ty
He was a great asset.
Thanks Kelly, it was an absolute honor to join Randy on an elk hunt. And a blast.....
Ty Stubblefield are you no longer a part of BRO? Loved watching all the hunts especially that bull that charged you guys after he was shot. That was epic
Sweetness!
Again, Ty Stubblefield! It’s our last name that brings the luck. Enjoying some great whitetail back straps watching .
Ty "Three Arrow" Stubblefield is a legend in these parts.
Amazing
Glad you liked it.
Is that Ty Stubblefield?? Old three arrow from Born & Raised?? Nice camera work! I met you at the Egyptian Theater in Boise Idaho a few years back at a full draw film tour. Keep up the awesome work in the outdoor industry! Heard you're doing some good stuff up in Montana too.
Torey Young that’s the one and only. Give the fella a Mt house at the end of the day and he’s likely to fill his boot with it😂😂
Ive been wondering where Ty was.... Found him!!!! Pretty cool..
A randy where can i get the set up u used to carry ur rifle i hunt with my HCR howa 6.5 rifle that same set up u got to hold the rifle.
Hey Randy, Im a Colorado public land diy hunter. I got to say, i pay much of my respect to mother nature for supplying such an awesome oppurtunity such as chasing elk. I've seen your show in years past and have never not watched a full episode because you have an awesome, and very real way of showing what its truly like. Maybe one day ill be blessed enough to chase you around with a camera and help call in a bull, haha, no but this is awesome. Hell of a bull! PS... If i got good footage of my back country archery hunts here in the heart of otc tags, would you possibly review them and throw out some opinions? Thanks!
Thanks for the kind comments. If you loaded it somewhere and a link was available, I would try to find time. But given how little time I have, I wouldn't want to make any promises.
You looked kinda like Fred Bear in that hat Randy.
I seriously can’t believe Larry left that behind for you!
A prized find, if ever I made one.
Great video and is elk talk tonight.
Thanks for following our platforms.
Great video. There did not seem to be many elk where you were at. Good ending to the video.
It was much tougher than expected.
Congrats on your bull.. this is chad
Thanks, Chad.
Wow!!
Awesome hunt Randy! Question for you. Hunting Montana (Bozeman area), Idaho, and Wyoming, what color do you suggest for a MR Metcalf? I'm leaning towards tan, but would one of the camo patterns be better for this area?
I use some of each. Choose what you think is best.
As a fellow "older" hunter and reasonably suffering from can't hear #%@&......I am totally empathetic!! Congratulations on taking a beautiful animal!!! Awesome teamwork... :)
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Let's go hunting Randy! I live 25 miles away from you.
Great video! I’m wondering, have ever hunted in Northern Utah?
Yup. Season 3 of Fresh Tracks.
Omg ty!! I just asked the boys where u were on the land of the free project.
He's making cameo appearances.
Ty one the camera. Got a pretty good one. He’s ok with a bugle I guess. Lol.
The reason I'm asking this is to draw the interest of my wife. She does not realize just how beautiful this country is. I want her to come with me on at least one of my hunts. Thank you.
I hope she does.
Are you hunting at or near Wapatki just outside of Flagstaff?
In the Kachina Peaks.
Awesome Randy.. Have you ever used the 7mm-08 on elk?
I haven't, as I always reach for its larger brother, the .308 Win. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot an elk with it.
Sweet congrats on the hunt, well done
Thanks for watching.
Would it be possible for you to put the actual Date of your hunt in the HEADLINE. Like
2017 Arizona Wilderness Wapiti with Randy Newberg (DAY 4) 9/12/2017
Probably not. That will reduce the search values in UA-cam. Using certain title words have a big impact on how videos show up in UA-cam search.
WTF it’s the guy from born and raised!! Is he done hunting with them?
Who the heck is Mr moon.
Hi Randy love the videos. I was wondering if you could do me a favor and maybe list all the sitka gear you used on this trip I am looking to buy and really need help. Thx and keep making videos of hunting they inspire me and thousands of other to get out there on public land. Thanks
Thanks for watching. On this trip I had Mountain Pants, Jetstream Jacket, Merino Zip-T, and Core mid-weight hoody. Good luck.
LMAO Wahoo McDaniel. I haven't heard of him in awhile.
Yeah, Wahoo had a big feud going with Superstar Billy Graham, then with Dirty Dusty Rhodes. Gramma followed that stuff very close and it was the topic of dinner conversation.
Leupold,Bowtech,Gerber,Nosler and Ty Stubblefield. All Oregon product. How about a Roosevelt hunt sometime?
I vote yes!!!
Ty's vote doesn't count ;) Oregon is home to some great companies.
@@Fresh_Tracks I'm from Livingston, MT but now living in Portland, OR. Public hunting is plenty doable here if drawn for a limited area. The General Season options are tough business. Trying to get more than 2 miles from a road into elk country in the Cascades is a challenge. I would like to see a General Season Cascade elk hunt vid. PS- Lots of DQs in the Oregon....if that helps..... Cheers. Karl
Was that ty with ya miss that guy from bro and here I am in England
That was the man, the myth, the legend; Ty Stubblefield.
Hey Randy thanks fo rthe great hunting it drives me to hunt every year and I killed my first elk this year when I was 13 and is ty staying
Congrats. Ty is offering to help when he can.
Not trying to downgrade the hunt, but it would have been so cool to see that bull in three of four years, he has so much character and length already!
wow! This is great! "This is some kind of dirt Optifade (TM). And the frost completes it.
Oh, no. Randy will no longer make hunting videos for he has found his true calling: a fashion model! :-)
That is awfully rough country. That was an incredible shot.
Although I am a bit mystified. Did you complete packing the bull out by that night, or do you need to come back in the morning?
Thanks for watching. Your question will be answered when we release Day 5 tomorrow.
16:31 randy mad
Is that Ty Stubblefield on camera duty? I know it’s an old video but, I have a great reason to ask Randy.
Yup. Ol' "3 Arrows" himself.
Did you know there were two elk when you shot?
Yeah, just before the shot the second one started to bugle.
Crazy. Thank you for all your hard work/play so people like myself can enjoy an elk hunt.
