I like the silent editing sans filler music. The quiet days of just yourself and your thoughts looking for animals is much more realistic. You're great for hunting and conservation Randy. Great to see Ty there too. Thank you
Nice work boys! Randy....you and the team have really figured out what people want out of outdoors television. The 22 minute gear promo to a kill shot was great in the beginning, but I truly think most hunters want to see the whole story...the good and the bad...and you guys do a great job of putting that together.
The weather has been so dry up North this year. We came off a wet Winter into a Dry Monsoon Fall and Winter. So cool to see this Unit get some attention! What a Harvest and what a crew of Men!
Randy, I really enjoy that your team takes the time to show the “whole” hunt. There is always too much going on to try and compress multiple days down to 20 minutes. Keep the awesome content coming
Randy you're one of the best on the internet, best advocate for our sport, and looks like you'd be one hell of a buddy on a hunting trip!! Good stuff...Feels like I've been in the those same woods, looking for the same animals.
As a Flagstaff resident, I sure enjoyed watching this. I had looked forward to it since hearing about it on the podcast. Great job on our beautiful Mountain!
I love this format. With traditional TV you lose a sense of the timeline because everything is compressed into 20 minutes but what I like best about this hunt and the way it was delivered to the viewer was the ability to see how patience played into this strategy. Patience is something I think a lot of hunters don't appreciate enough, maybe because TV hunting seems to speed everything up. In this hunt, you guys waited hours for something to happen. You didn't press the issue and try to force the situation. You allowed the scenario to play itself out until conditions were right for a kill. Great hunting guys!
This is my favorite hunt on youtube. The emotions before, during and after the kill and the pack out are all so relatable to my own experiences, Thank you!
I really appreciate you posting the whole story day by day, 15 min to encapsulate an entire back country hunt is tough on an editor I’m sure and more like fast food than a nice steak dinner for the aspirating elk hunter such as myself (don’t get me wrong, I like Big Macs sometimes too!). One of my life goals is to experience that part of the country and an elk hunt and maybe even get one. Thanks for keeping me motivated!!! Appreciate the whole team, keep doing what your doing guys, I really enjoy the content.
nice work on the elk most people probably don't have the option of having four or five Packers and llamas to get their animals out though so I don't imagine too many people kill much up there unless they're on a guided hunt
Congrats Randy on a nice bull ! It was good to see Ol' TY 3ARROW from the original BRO crew out with you , didn't realize he left Oregon a few years back moved to Montana until just recently , would like to see you and TY come west and bow hunt Roosevelts together, enjoyed your hunt , look forward to the next one
Awesome hunt. I live in Az but never elk hunted the state. I hunt on the Navajo Reservation, NE part of the state. After watching your show it looks like a real fun and challenging experience, one I would love to take on. Great show Mr Newberg!
Congrats on the bull Randy. Well earned. I just returned from my Kendrick mountain wilderness elk hunt just across the highway in 7W. So many bulls and so much fun. Perhaps next time I won't get bull fever and miss my shot opportunities....Congrats again Randy. I look forward to seeing Jerry's hunt in future videos
Wow that was a tote, great video, Enjoyed the whole series. Have been working on next yrs hunt instead of bass fishing. Fishing tournaments during the winter helps me pay for the fun I have in the Rockies.
Hey Newberg! You lost something out of your pack or pocket when you climbed over the blow down at the 5:56 mark! Hope its not your GPS with all your waypoints.
I have never thought of myself as a safety sally, but Randy, you are out there a lot and you get a lot of animals. You put them on your back w no safety orange and hike out with some very safety conscious hunters, and unfortunately, some less experienced, less careful, or even a few nut jobs sharing your woods space. I say this because we lost a gentleman from our church to an accidental shot by another hunter just across the I-5 from Tejon Ranch in So-Cal. Super sad situation for everyone. Just don't ever want to see you, or a member of your crew get hurt. People see a nice rack and judgement can become secondary. Great videos Randy! I always learn something.
I appreciate the concern. We are making a ton of noise when we are doing this. If I were to get shot, I doubt it would be an accident (j/k). Your point is well taken. When I pack out by myself and less inclined to make a lot of noise, or in states that require hunter orange, you will see that I most often cover the loads with orange.
"It's like trying to get Dolly Parton in a training bra!!" That's funny right there I don't care who you are!! Randy I really enjoy watching your videos and hope one day we meet on the side of a mountain!!
Awesome video, congratulations!I took a bull out of that peaks hunt in 2016. Got a cow hunt in that unit this year and super excited. What trailhead did you start from? Kind of not sure about starting from trailhead, too many hikers haha. I enjoy the videos, keep it up!
I'm curious what "wilderness area" you all were hunting in. There are at least 90 national wilderness areas in Arizona. Without giving your hunt area away, I and many others would simply like to know which wilderness area it was. The 90 or so wilderness areas I just mentioned cover over 4, 500,000 acres of designated wilderness. By telling us which wilderness area you were hunting in will not give your location away. As a lifelong resident of Arizona (except for my military service) and being older than most designated wilderness areas I'm simply curios to know. :-)
It is pretty easy to figure out if one is interested in doing the work to discover such. We don't give the names of locations, in this case a wilderness area, out of respect to the other folks who apply/hunt there.
Osso Buco is good as well as bone marrow butter. Try the kidney's too as well as the heart and liver. All three together in equal amounts make the best taco ingredients> Don't forget the onions. Try this: ua-cam.com/video/eYsaqYsyqDg/v-deo.html
LOL, "trying to fit Dolly Parton in a training bra",,, And when did you try to do that??? Did she slap you Randy??? lol. Thanks for sharing your huts with us, it's nice to see somebody else who hunts public land, AND is successful. I'll never be able to go on a "guided hunt" on privet land/ ranch unless I win the lotto. I have to also agree with Mike Ireland, you guys HAVE figured out what REAL hunters go through on public land, and not some cutting room floor crap. :)
I got that saying from Grandma Harriet. Just always slips off my lips without me thinking about it. Thanks for the kind comments. Good luck this season.
What happened to the Llamas assisting with packing the elk back to camp? Just wondering, as the prior episode that featured llamas, they assisted in packing the elk back to camp.
I would do a lot more, but it is very difficult to obtain public land film permits in Wilderness Areas. That said, we did three hunts in Wilderness Areas in 2017. Thanks for watching.
I like the silent editing sans filler music. The quiet days of just yourself and your thoughts looking for animals is much more realistic. You're great for hunting and conservation Randy. Great to see Ty there too. Thank you

The 22 minute gear promo to a kill shot was great in the beginning, but I truly think most hunters want to see the whole story...the good and the bad...and you guys do a great job of putting that together.
We hope that is the case. It is what we are trying to bring to the story. Thanks for watching.
I love the full episode after the shot.
This is the channel for the average elk hunter. I can't wait until September, GOOD LUCK!
Glad you find it useful. We want to show as much as we can, even after the fun ends and the work starts.
"dolly parton in a training bra" You already know randy has been using that line for about 30 years now hahaha
My aunt taught me that one around 1976. Took me a few years to learn what it meant.
Randy Newberg, Hunter haha! You’re the man randy. Watched all your videos before my gf killed her first elk this year in New Mexico.
The weather has been so dry up North this year. We came off a wet Winter into a Dry Monsoon Fall and Winter. So cool to see this Unit get some attention! What a Harvest and what a crew of Men!
Thanks for watching.
congratulations. .... I love the fact that it's just you guys and no music or fluff just a real hunt thank you very much
Glad to hear. Thanks for watching.
Randy, I really enjoy that your team takes the time to show the “whole” hunt. There is always too much going on to try and compress multiple days down to 20 minutes. Keep the awesome content coming
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for those kind comments. Appreciate you following our platforms.
Great video, shows the real meaning of hunting, not just killing. Love it Randy and team. You guys are all awesome !!!!
Thanks. And thanks for watching.
Really enjoy the camera work after the shot. Getting to see the pack-out and cutting all the meat....it’s all part of the hunt!
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching.
As a Flagstaff resident, I sure enjoyed watching this. I had looked forward to it since hearing about it on the podcast. Great job on our beautiful Mountain!
Thanks for watching. It is a beautiful place.
Helping me through the long dark winter nights in Fairbanks. Thanks for sharing, be safe out there!
Dang, you might need more than this to get through those long nights. Thanks for watching.
I could never get tired of the boning out and pack out. Great video and awesome Bull!!
One of my favorite parts of the hunt is processing in the field and at home.
The day by day hunts are my favorite content. Excellent work!
Thanks for watching them.

Glad you liked it. Most do, but a few are critical of the time they need to "watch the entire story." Thanks for the valuable feedback.
This is my favorite hunt on youtube. The emotions before, during and after the kill and the pack out are all so relatable to my own experiences, Thank you!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching.
Pleasure to watch randy can't wait for more shows keep up the great work
Thanks. I hope we continue to provide content with watching.
Thanks for watching. Good luck with making that dream a reality.
Brother you and your team are all champs! God bless you. I have been learning much from you!
Thanks for watching.
What a great series. I love these day by day videos.
Thanks for watching.
Great job on showing everyone the real work of harvesting
Thanks for watching.
I love how Randy’s friend did every part of the hunt with that old school gear. #buytagsnotgear #noexcuses
Wade is as "old school" as they come. Love everything about him.
One of the best hunting productions I have seen. Congratulations!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Just finished this series. Great work! Thanks for posting up!
Thanks for watching.
Thanks Marcus
Outstanding!
nice work on the elk most people probably don't have the option of having four or five Packers and llamas to get their animals out though so I don't imagine too many people kill much up there unless they're on a guided hunt
The new camera fellow was funny. Very enthusiastic, and appeared to be a good pack mule too! Ha ha!
Ty is a great guy to have around.
Might be my favorite video yet, and I’ve seen almost all of them. Straight up hard work for all the right reasons. INSPIRED!
Very happy to hear that. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, it's some of the best I've seen. You know that means a lot. Because I like DQ too.
Take care.
It was a pleasure to watch this hunt. Thanks for the post and all you do for hunting industry
Thank you for watching and supporting our platforms.
Excellent!
Nice work gentlemen. I got my cow up there 3 weeks after you guys left the area.
Congrats.
Always amazing!!!!!
Thanks for watching.
Congrats Randy on a nice bull ! We were scheming such an idea during down times, on this hunt.
Great hunt! Sure helped having Ty around!
Yes, Ty was a great help. Thanks for watching.
Awesome hunt. I live in Az but never elk hunted the state. I hunt on the Navajo Reservation, NE part of the state. After watching your show it looks like a real fun and challenging experience, one I would love to take on. Great show Mr Newberg!
Thanks. I hope you do take on that challenge.
Loved it Randy wonderful hunt
Thanks for watching.

Thanks. And thanks for watching. Hope you get better luck next time.
Man I love watching your videos! I’ll make it out west to hunt elk one day. I promise! Keep the videos coming.
its great to see someone else using baling twine to hang up elk quarters.
That was paracord.
Wow that was a tote, great video, Enjoyed the whole series. Have been working on next yrs hunt instead of bass fishing. Fishing tournaments during the winter helps me pay for the fun I have in the Rockies.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Hey Newberg! You lost something out of your pack or pocket when you climbed over the blow down at the 5:56 mark! Hope its not your GPS with all your waypoints.
sehudson12 great eyes....I went back and watched a couple times, think you are correct.
It was bark that rubbed off the aspen tree. I keep that GPS tethered to my waist belt. I would be in panic mode to have lost that.
I have never thought of myself as a safety sally, but Randy, you are out there a lot and you get a lot of animals. Great job....quite the group of packers, that makes it nice! Worst part about boning out is the front shoulders.
Was lucky to have such a good crew on this hunt.
Nice crew" That's good too. Boning front shoulders, I like a small meat hook and a good knife.
Randy. That's Ty from Bornandraisedoutdoors isn't it. Always loved the passion he displays for Elk hunting.
The one, the only, Ty "3-arrow" Stubblefield.
Randy, love your videos. I’m interested in the back pack you use. I really like how you carry your rife on it.
Nice work really enjoyed this one!👍
Thanks for watching.
Thanks Randy,
I enjoyed this series as we do ALL of the other ones. You guys worked (and the llamas ) for it. Can I have some back straps too? Lol
Glad you liked it. The straps have been fully allocated.
Nice video and hunt. Congrats on getting it done!
Thanks for watching.
A little trick with electrical tape on antlers. Put the sticky side up and there wont be any sticky film on the antlers.
Well done boys....
Thanks.
That's great! Thanks so much!
That looked like a LOT of work! You have very good friends.
I hope the banarama llama mamas helped . . .
I am blessed with some of the finest hunting friends I could ever ask for. Thanks for watching.
"It's like trying to get Dolly Parton in a training bra!!" That's funny right there I don't care who you are!! Randy I really enjoy watching your videos and hope one day we meet on the side of a mountain!!
Thanks. Hope we do meet.
Great video. I enjoy watching you field dress the animals. I'd like to see how to handle a bear in the field. Thanks again
Awesome video, congratulations!I took a bull out of that peaks hunt in 2016. Got a cow hunt in that unit this year and super excited. What trailhead did you start from? Kind of not sure about starting from trailhead, too many hikers haha. I enjoy the videos, keep it up!
great work guys!!! good video Randy! Hey btw if you're every out in the WV woods or Ohio I'll come be a pack mule for ya anytime!!
Thanks for watching.
Great finish Randy
Thanks for watching.

You are lucky for sure. I don't know one friend of mine that'd go hunting with me without a tag.
Yes, I'm very lucky.
That Dolly Parton comment was hilarious.
You can thank my aunt for that one.
Osso Buco is good as well as bone marrow butter. Try the kidney's too as well as the heart and liver. All three together in equal amounts make the best taco ingredients> Don't forget the onions. Try this: ua-cam.com/video/eYsaqYsyqDg/v-deo.html

What happened to the Llamas assisting with packing the elk back to camp? Just wondering, as the prior episode that featured llamas, they assisted in packing the elk back to camp.
We had enough guys to handle it and we were saving the llamas' energy for the hike down to the trail head.
4:55 Dolly Parton HAHAHAHA
A comment from my aunt that sticks with me.
I lost it when he said that
Ty. You’ve loaded both. Exo or M R?
Ha ha ha @ 4:55, trying to fit Dolly Parton in a training bra. Instant classic.
That was Grandma's favorite line, God bless her.
I like the electrical tape use, very smart. How many blades would you say you go through parting out an elk?
I can usually do an elk with one blade. If I get in a hurry and start putting too much torque on a blade, it might take two.
Thanks Randy. Keep hunting and I'll keep watching.....it's what helps me get through the off season.
Awesome trip Randy! Have you all considered hunting wilderness areas more often?
I would do a lot more, but it is very difficult to obtain public land film permits in Wilderness Areas. That said, we did three hunts in Wilderness Areas in 2017. Thanks for watching.
Film permitts?
did all the guys hang around for the steak and a drink or did a shower and a bed sound better
I bought dinner for all.
LoL ... " I need a dairy queen"
What kind of watch do you have? It looks really nice!
Suunto.
Did y'all use a new camera for this hunt?
Yup, a VERY expensive camera.
👍😃
DQ real bad...epic
Just being honest.
Randy would you do this hunt again?
Yeah, if that was the option made available to me. Not the best AZ hunt I've been on.
Hi Randy, did I see you bugling and getting responses in December?
This was in October. Yes, responses then, but not in December.
Ok, I was in that unit in Sept and heard a lot of bugling.
you guys need a bigger herd of llamas, hahaha
Two is better than zero.
thats right, i think ill get me a couple, they pack about 80 pounds??
have you ever had problems with predators getting at your meat while it is hanging to cool?
Eric Haverty predators are not a huge concern for one night, just hang the meat away from the gut pile/carcass.
Never had a problem with predators.
I need a Dairy Queen....BAD...LOL
A guy has to be honest. I was needing a fix at that time.
It is good stuff. Well I like it.
It think that Ty enjoys packing more than he likes the camera work!
He enjoys all of it. A fun guy, for sure.
No bears down there to mess with your meat?
There are bears there, but none messed with our meat.
My first year hunting I killed a nice six point bull
Congrats.
