At some point in the video Ms. Mariben wondered aloud why your snack is called 'breadfruit'? From a brief Google search and then on to Wikipedia...'Europeans discovered breadfruit in the late 1500s. They were amazed and delighted by a tree that produced prolific, starchy fruits that, when roasted in a fire, resembled freshly baked bread in texture and aroma'. Here is hoping this comment does not spark an international incident and subsequent internet tribunal by those that might have a different understanding of why this food is so named. Another good video! Thank you for all the effort you put into this channel.
Hi Dennis, Marissa and Mariben thanks for sharing. That’s a really nice grocery store in Tagum. I hear a lot of foreigners grumble that no western style foods, but that store looks amazing.
Always enjoy watching you guys shop and find the same food that is here in US. That restaurant food did look yummy and large portions. I read that breadfruit was named that by Europeans when they discovered it in the 1500's and when roasted in fire it smelled and had texture like fresh baked bread.
Marissa and Dennis enjoyed your video as usual, someone mentioned a slow cooker, I think you would get on brilliantly with one, they don't use much electric and your food is delicious,, just put your meat and vegetables in and leave for up to.,six hours and by the time your ready for your meal it's all done in one pot all fresh lovely. You can cook all sorts ,so so easy and fresh, you could cook enough for two days or more, I really think you would benefit from one, happy cooking guys .stay safe from Yorkshire England.
@@americanfilipinadestiny345 I remember back in USA having a “pot roast” with that shredded type beef brisket in the slow cooker, I’m sure you all have made that too back when you were in USA, delicious.
good morning guys! i think you might be going to that restaurant to eat by the looks of dennis on the scrumptious food! you need a bigger cart when you go shopping ha! mariben would have liked the food at that restaurant. mariben can make such a good meals out of the things around the house. [good job mariben] marissa is so busy running errands, always busy! you made me hungry eating that fruit, thanks! later!
I’m passing through Nanbuturan right now enroute to Davao, so I thought about you all and watched this video. I’m going to try out this restaurant in Tagum next week. All the best to you all.
Marissa & Dennis, love your video guys! Anyways, does Dennis like to eat chili? I make my own with fresh ingredients using a slow cooker. I also make my own beef stew. 😊
Yet again...another great 🇺🇲AFD🇵🇭 video! Really enjoyed it, thanks as always 👍🏽 Questions ... How much was that beef and broccoli?? It's my favorite and I'm curious. Dennis ... can you please try and explain the difference in the taste of foods in the Philippines vs. foods in the U.S.?? ... I mean in a video when you guys discuss random subscriber topics. That dish looked so different (healthier) from here I've also noticed the differences in the look of watermelon, bananas, eggs, oranges, sweet potatoes,etc.. I never noticed how food looked artificial until I saw how the same foods looked so different in the Philippines. Salamat and ingat guys 😁👋🏽
I'm here in mindanao in a province and its so hard to find good restaurants here. I'm not big fast food person. I love mashed potatoes and my girlfriend makes them for me but here mostly everything is organic which is code for SMALL SIZE haha. I guess it's better for health reasons but when I saw those big red tomatoes my mouth wanted to taste them. I would love to find a good steak place with no fat (lol) and tender. Still cannot find restaurants that have knives only sporks. Other day I got fajitas and asked for knife and they brought me plastic gloves to pick it up and eat with my hands. I asked for sour cream and they said only sour cream powder? I never heard of that before. Haha. My quest continues to find restaurants that have knives to cut foods with.
Hi! I love watching you guys. Can you share with me what province you are in? My Filipina and I are coming to Phil’s in April. I’d love to meet you if you’re close. Lmk. Robert & jonna
Good to see Heinz there on sale, i personally know her, she lives in London, i used to work next door to her house so got to meet her often. Very down to earth, not what you would expect. I often meet such people with my work, when i retire i will maybe tell some stories without the names as i did sign an NDA.
I love seeing Dennis so happy with the resturant food
Lunch looked great!!! Mariben is very radiant today!!! Love her smile!!!

Good day out for you both
Of course we are curious. And the food at the restaurant looked pretty good. We all like the lemon/lime debate in the garden.

There are some mangosteen here in the USA but expensive
Marissa does not a bread fruit that's a marang. Bread fruit is you boiled it and you dip in with caramelized
There are some mangoesteen here in US but it’s so expensive compare in pinas.. Omg, That’s one of my favorite fruit we call that MARANG ..
Oh my goodness, that’s something different to me. I’m curious to see what it tastes like
Someone from the restaurant is going to see this video and hire you as spokesperson for them. Your payment will be unlimited visits to the restaurant.
Marrissa, we have mangosteen in the USA at Asain Stores.

About $10. Some of the food here tastes a little different but not in a bad way. It's mainly pork and chicken because of the feed they consume.
Dennis is s Lucky man!
It always looks so dark do to the tint on the windows:)
Your new shirt looks nice. We like the parts where Dennis is Camaraman. Dinner looks so good, we always enjoy watching.
I agree, Dennis does great camerawork and in a good narrator as well 👍🏽
Just curious, have you seen sour cream, buttermilk, ricotta cheese for sale in the Philippines?
Other day I asked for sour cream for my fajita and was told they only had sour cream powder. I thought what the hell is that lol.
Right? What is that ??? I’m just imagining what I can substitute these ingredients with. Thanks for the response.
No we haven't.
