- In this vlog, we share our day out in Grange-over-Sands in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria.
Grange-over-Sands does not disappoint on the food front. We sample some pretty amazing fish & chips and resist the temptations in award winning butchers and the chocolate shop!
As out Lake District tour comes to an end, we try and set ourselves a food based challenge. Can we achieve our food and beverage goals in just one day?
We stumble across a fascinating piece of local history - the derelict Lido. Take a peek from a bird's eye view of what the Lido looks like now after nearly 3 decades of disuse.

The sausage looks like it’s taken a bit of a battering 😂 I bet that Costa probably used to be a bank. Oooo remember the golden caramel lattes from the summer menu cheesy chips and pineapple fritter, two amazing choices, although I prefer a Mars bar fritter 😋 also I got really excited that you were eating by a train track 😂 great video, look forward to the next one 😊

We used to drive from West Yorkshire just to visit that shop.

hi i lived in grange in the 60s and early 70s there was no grass just sand the river chanel moves every so often i was told every 22 years because of the moon one of my teachers told me so i live in somerset now i would love to do a road trip bk up there and walk the prom and fly my drone like i said there was only sand and rocks bk then no grass
The grass did seem to be unusual! It’s fascinating how the coastline can change. I hope you get to visit the area again
When we are at home we make batter using unflavoured protein powder, gluten free and low carb. Not really practical carrying a chip pan around in the van though.
I’ve never heard of that before. What do you mix it with?
@@TheHillsExplore Mix with egg and milk as you would a normal batter, comes out very crispy. Works with fried chicken as well, some seasoned powder in one bowl, beaten egg in the other, dip in the egg then the powder then into the fryer.
