@@wanderinwilds 😜 thank you we had fun filming it and he really did put the bike though its paces. I left my car keys in the van the other which, week Riki had driven to work. So I had to use this beast to get to the office!! It breezed through the 5 mile commute!! If we could rely on the British weather, I’d use it every day for the ride to work! 🚲 xxx 😚

Alex I’m not sure if you have watched the vlog? We explain that we are attending an event and the event is being held on that field. So that was where the site owners wanted everyone to park 😊 Before we went on to the grass, knowing the grass wasn’t firm, we spoke to the site wardens and discussed all options. They were equipped with a 4X4 tow vehicle and ropes as this is par for the course when you run a rural site with a large grass field. They run rallies all the time and the grass quickly regrows between events they told us. So armed with that information we were happy to live on the edge and drive on to the grass field. We aimed for higher ground, but that didn’t work out. So we let gravity and nature decide where we parked. It was all fine and mud washes off and grass regrows so no harm done 👍🏻 Campsites all over the UK would be closing down if they only used their grass pitches when the ground was perfectly dry. We had a great time and have stayed at campsites since where they have grass pitches and rain. As long as we are sure they have the capacity to tow you off if needed, then we want to support them with our custom and are happy to drive sensibly distanced from other vehicles and wash the van afterwards so they don’t lose their livelihood 😊 Each to their own on this one, but I hope this explains our reasoning and thoughts on grass pitches 😊 P.S. if hard standing is on offer Mr Hill would take that option every time! But sometimes it isn’t

I remember speaking with you and believe me, I might look confident, but I have my moments!! My stomach was doing flip flops for the first half hour after leaving home as I was so anxious about how far I was going to be driving. But we can both only gain our confidence by having a go. And I’m so pleased to hear that you are going to try again ❤ I look forward to seeing your photo and it doesn’t matter if you only move a few feet on the first try. Next time you will do a little more and so on. You can do it. Take your time. That’s the biggest lesson I have learnt. Don’t rush. Don’t put pressure on yourself. Others can wait. Good luck!! ❤

I did it Beth I took the van off the drive and drove out the village I can't believe it I was so nervous and scared but managed to drive 45 miles, by the time I got back I felt great a big achievement for me 😀 but I really really don't like lorries😅 thanks for your support and your video xx

Thank you! Yes Riki does a pretty good job of seeing that the van is all set to go and I’m safe. I cannot fault him! The fuel prices on the motorway are crazy so that 10p per litre saving was worth my stress 😂

The grass did seem to be unusual! It’s fascinating how the coastline can change. I hope you get to visit the area again

Hahah we were very impressed with your weather updates and insight 🤓 Don’t flatter him, it wasn’t that tight 🤣🤣 He was a bit selfish with the cakes. He wasn’t sharing the Biscoff with anyone 😆 My hair is a lot if not controlled in high winds 💨 🌪️🤡 I had ear muffs on under the hat! But with the muffs, the hair and the wind it was all a bit too much! 🤣 We really enjoyed a chilled couple of days and must do it again soon xx

Amazing as it was to see so many seals, the baby seals that hadn’t made it did break my heart and I wanted to run down and move the ones in danger away from the water! There were so many volunteers out in all weathers keeping the humans a safe distance away. More importantly they were also really generous with sharing information and educating people too.
