Love that you love Lucy. Nothing better than those old shows. Could you tell us where you got the beautiful sideboard under the TV? Thanks for the vid!
Maybe a hanging plant from the ceiling? Or a tree in the corner? I think something on the wall would make the matching two on the sides of the TV off balance.
Above the TV you could put a saying using vinyl rub on transfers. Next to the TV I like happy mama's wooden blanket ladder and with the right blankets it would fit your decor. Good luck.
I read the many suggestions and some are exactly what I was thinking. The two wall hanging next to the TV hang over the past the piece of furniture which makes it look uneven. And I agree it’s to close to the fire place needs to be over more or centered on that wall. I think a huge tree or large plant in the corner would make homey. Also another large lantern next to the on on your fireplace would help finish the look.
Looks good now, but for a suggestion: Put a long shiplap board or canvas with the word Gather or do the word gather (or whatever word you would like) in rope & this would be length wise over the tv; or put a swag lengthwise with greenery over the tv.
I agree with long tall and skinny on that wall!! Either some walls shelves or a thin bookshelf. I would move the blanket rack as well to where you said.
Your style is fine and whatever you decide is okay. Decorating and style are personal to each person, as you know. I think that something tall where the quilt stand is would be great. Ladder or a slender piece of furniture. Loved the photo of your inspiration room that you showed. How about adding something with height over the TV?
I love everything you’ve done. Your home and decorating is gorgeous. A ficus tree might be pretty (by the tv area) and you can throw some lights on it year round. It really adds a cozy factor. I have one in my family room. I keep white lights on it, and during the fall months, I string amber colored lights, super cozy. 👍
I like what you got now. But if you really want to but something there. What about those blanket shelf ladder thing. You could but blankets and greenery. I know whatever you come up with it will look amazing 😉
Since you have height on the fireplace and then the tv is lower, maybe something tall in that corner would help balance out that wall. I like the idea of something next to your tv, maybe change out those window things with candle sticks???
That’s awesome about the I love Lucy box set! I have petticoat junction, Dennis the menace,,Hazel, Andy Griffith, Flinstones ,jetsons, and Soo many other favorite shows I love but oddly I haven’t broke them out and watched them..i need the Lucy set..I could liderly watch them over and over but never do..I think I will start tho...I agree with the blanket ladder would look great or u could put 3 picture frames In a row hanging on strip of ribbon ..I’m sure u have seen that look....or hang a bigger decorated wreath that goes with your decor..a narrow long table behind the couch would look good, then u could sit the vase of flowers on it and put stacked books and something on other side of vase..I don’t think the stool would look right..do a basket with pine cones or those filler balls sitting there to cover up plug..u can add fairy lights with the pine cones and it’s welcoming..
Ok so you asked for suggestions, here goes: I would remove the arches beside the tv, they are a little too large and replace with some wall sconces maybe, something like you got for your bathroom but a little bigger. You need more space in between the tv decor and the fireplace decor, kind of run into each other. The arches would look good on each side of your shelves in the library maybe?? For the corner maybe a ladder shelf, will give you space to add decor/frames/greenery etc. Like the flower idea and moving the blanket wrack behind the sofa. I'm sure whatever you come up with will look great!!
I like the idea of the stool. Maybe top it with an old fashioned milk jug for your florals. The space to the left of the tv might just need an appropriate size forest theme canvas art.
A 6 ft blanket ladder to replace the quilt rack and give height. Also I'd put the scroll over the TV and turn the window vertically on the mantel to give it more height and not need the scroll above it. :)
I’d love to see what the TV section looks like without the 2 window type pieces on either side of the tv 🙂 then maybe a tall greenery piece in the corner? I’ve seen tall boxwood style pieces before that would look great! But in general- do you boo! ❤️
You have two competing focal walls. I would hang tv over fireplace and put the media center somewhere else. I can't tellvwhat your whole layout but, maybe under the window.
My favourite tv comedy of all time that and Golden Girls. My late brother-in-law used to call me Lucy Ball. My first name is Lucy but Ball is not my last name. After he passed away I dreamt that he was calling to come watch I Love Lucy. My grandmother couldn’t understand English but loved the show and laughed so much when she watched it. I watch it every morning still on tv with my daughter. I heard after 911 people wanted to watch I Love Lucy because it was comforting. I have never missed an episode and didn’t know there were more episodes that you mentioned. I have to get that DVD box set👍❤️👍
I would say a house plant or a hanging plant would look good there it would add a nice fresh element if u wanted something there. Girl I used to watch I Love Lucy when I was going to bed even as a teenager lol. Love it. Thank you for sharing your day with us! ❤️
🌱 Hanging plant in that corner would look so pretty! I feel like it would fill up that space but would avoid having too many “decor” pieces. Would make it feel more fresh and open I think 🌱 also would add height, rather than too much on the floor which would close in the room 🤗
Hello Marie, what ever you decide will look GREAT! Love the stool idea with your faux plants in a really pretty vase...just might use your idea some where in my home...tfs, take care n GOD BLESS YOU!
Love your videos ❤️ and your decorating.. how about moving the 2 wood pieces that are on each side of tv to above fireplace to break up the wood and not have so much white above fireplace and move the scroll above the tv? Just an idea 😀
I don’t know what it’s called but looks kinda like. Stepladder they put pictures on and you can get the tall one for that space where blanket is, and put the blanket holder where you said, I like the wall arches where you have them and everything looks great , but I know I have a wall too that Needs something and I’m putting that picture ladder from way fair by my wall, Marie you do what you feel you like, bc what you like makes you happy, nothing else counts!💜
Omg girl i tell you i love lucy is definitely a favorite of mine i could watch it everyday. Lol. Love your decorating and may try to incorporate a few when i get moved hopefully soon. Thank you so much💯💯💯
Hi Marie! A shelf or sign would like great above your tv. You could style the shelf, I think the area to the left of the tv could stay the same potentially if you decorate above the television. I have seen someone hang the home sign you have in your kitchen above their flat screen and hang rustic shelves on both sides of the tv. Whatever you do will look great.
If you center your whole entertainment center with the wall. It would not look so bare on the left side you were referring to. Nor would it look so low. Because you have high ceilings. So just bring your tv and decor up towards the center of the wall more.
When I Love Lucy first aired, my mother was Lucy’s hairdresser. My mom did about 3 seasons with Lucy and then quit and moved on to others. She did Our Miss Brooks next, if I remember correctly.
Did you ever watch Lucy and Ethel color show from I think the 70's. Lucy had teenage kids in it and Ethel had a different name. Some of the old cast was in it too.
I agree, greenery need to go there in the living area. A tree of some sort. You already have enough decor, and greenery will warm all that even more. Also, you said it girl...a stool and vase if what you bought in flowers. Looks good girl, hey baby Loxi, you are such a sweet babygirl!! Big hugs and wet kisses Lox 😊🍉☀️🐦👟🤗🌸🥑🍒🍏🌶️🍉
I like nickname's comment about a blanket ladder, i think the height would be nice in place of the lower blanket stand. Also maybe take down the decor beside the tv and just use the blanket ladder or if you need something else on the furniture under the tv you could do a low wider floral arrangement that would not interfere with the tv. I do like your style of decorating.
Personally I think you should remove the wall pieces on either side of the TV, they are competing with the design treatment you have over the fireplace. Then, you can add something to the left of the TV where you have the blankets. Your wall decor on either side of the TV extend past the end of the furniture. That always stands out to me. You have a lovely home and beautifully decorated. Please don’t take my opinion as negative. ❤️
"Pioneer Women" & "The Ricardos Switch Apartments" are 2 of My all-time favorite I Love Lucy episodes!! 😍 Seasons 7-9 were called "The Lucy Desi Comedy Hour" NOT "I Love Lucy" & they were aired ... just not as often.
I would remove the arched windows from either side of the tv. One lamp or flower arrangement on tne left is better. Too cluttered with all the accessories on the mantle. I would not put anything in the corner behind the couch. You could add a small console or hutch in the breakfast room. Library or dining room? Can be both with bookshelves decorated nicely in the dining room. Don't forget to eat breakfast Food makes your brain work better (like fuel for your car) I always told my kids.
I like the blanket rack behind the couch. As for the area by the tv. Yes a pop of color with flowers.
I love Lucy is one of my all time favorites will have to order the set too 😁😬
A shelf or some greenery. Maybe a table for the back of the couch to put pictures, candles, or flowers.
Use a corner hanging plant and hang a fern or something that would match your other plant decor!
Maybe get a blanket ladder like what you have in the media room and green wreath a few small yellow flowers in it.
It looks great the way you have it don’t overdo....👍
Love that you love Lucy. Nothing better than those old shows. Could you tell us where you got the beautiful sideboard under the TV? Thanks for the vid!
Maybe a hanging plant from the ceiling? Or a tree in the corner? I think something on the wall would make the matching two on the sides of the TV off balance.
U can get one of those vertical wrought iron sconces to put left of tv. And maybe a large milk can to put flowers in?
Maybe a leaning small bookcase then add some other decor, pictures and greenery.
Love love love I Love Lucy!!!!! I have this set in my wish list on Amazon!
I agree w the flowers 💐 does add a bit more color but love your style and it always looks good!
I want to do like a tall bench/ stool and a smaller one and put some plants on them. Maybe a lantern along with them. I always like things in three’s.
I love that quote! A ladder might look nice there. I think the stool with the flowers on it would be gorgeous!
Put the blanket rack behind the couch and put a corner shelf in that corner with a picture frame beside it but a little higher
Maybe a lamp? Add light and warm vibes?
Loxy has the best seat in the house! She is such a good girl!
Your style is fine and whatever you decide is okay. Decorating and style are personal to each person, as you know. I think that something tall where the quilt stand is would be great. Ladder or a slender piece of furniture. Loved the photo of your inspiration room that you showed. How about adding something with height over the TV?
Oh I love how you have your wax melts stored
I love everything you’ve done. Your home and decorating is gorgeous. A ficus tree might be pretty (by the tv area) and you can throw some lights on it year round. It really adds a cozy factor. i love lucy all her shows too. so funny.
I think a fake tree would look nice next to your TV. Adding some green to that corner
I think them flowers would be beautiful in a big vase or galvanized tin ♥️♥️
It’s beautiful! I personally would remove the two pieces from wall that is on both sides of tv
Maybe a rustic ladder?
That’s awesome about the I love Lucy box set! A large plant. Add greenery
Ok so you asked for suggestions, here goes: I would remove the arches beside the tv, they are a little too large and replace with some wall sconces maybe, something like you got for your bathroom but a little bigger. I like the idea of a tall cabinet, or shelving unit, in that space, but I'm no decorator. Thanks for linking the I Love Lucy DVD set!
I see a lot of comments about a tall, or hanging, plant in that corner - that sounds nice!
This was going to be my suggestion, too.
busy happy mama that.is.an.EXCELLENT idea! 😊😊😊
I’d love to see what the TV section looks like without the 2 window type pieces on either side of the tv 🙂 then maybe a tall greenery piece in the corner? I’ve seen tall boxwood style pieces before that would look great!
But in general- do you boo! ❤️
I’m thinking a tall, yet narrow, piece of furniture for that corner, such as a decorative bookcase.. but not for books.
I think it looks fine
Either a long metal thingy or a tall plant
Put those lovely florals you have in a nice big white enamel or galvenized pitcher on a stool.😊
Hey girl you probably already know this but your house is gorgeous I mean you got so comfortable 💞
How about greenery one of them tall tree plant!!
Girl how come you just don't play multiple vitamin, do they not have all that in one just curious!!?
You have two competing focal walls. I would hang tv over fireplace and put the media center somewhere else. I can't tellvwhat your whole layout but, maybe under the window.
I agree. In this case the TV is a focal point and the fireplace should have been the actual focal point.
Think a softer texture, like the suggested below a tall plant of tall blanket ladder. It looks so lovely already.
Have you ever gotten into watching Bewitched? Seems like something you would enjoy. ❤️
I think you should add a tall green plant..
Love watching ... your such a nice Lady...and your idea's priceless..
That's great I think that would be a good idea and those flowers are pretty if it makes you happy that's all that matters
My favourite tv comedy of all time that and Golden Girls. My late brother-in-law used to call me Lucy Ball. My first name is Lucy but Ball is not my last name. Hey girl if we could only really clean that fast. we would get alot of things done 👍 TFS Happy Monday to you 🌸 stay safe and God Bless you
I would say a house plant or a hanging plant would look good there it would add a nice fresh element if u wanted something there.
How about like 4 thick chunky, floating shelves, to make decorating seasonally, and add texture/plants etc!
Hello Marie, what ever you decide will look GREAT! Love the stool idea with your faux plants in a really pretty vase...just might use your idea some where in my home...tfs, take care n GOD BLESS YOU!
What about a cute candle sconce?
How about a big beautiful fiddle leaf fig plant?
Put a blanket ladder with candle sconce over it.
A tall vase with florals that you can change out for the seasons and or a couple of candle sconces
Love your videos ❤️ and your decorating.. how about moving the 2 wood pieces that are on each side of tv to above fireplace to break up the wood and not have so much white above fireplace and move the scroll above the tv? Just an idea 😀
One of those little shelf or tiered baskets, maybe in black
I don’t know what it’s called but looks kinda like. Hey.......how about a tall blanket ladder?
Good idea
A beautiful tall fiddle fig leaf plant would look great next to the tv!
Omg girl i tell you i love lucy is definitely a favorite of mine i could watch it everyday. Lol. Love your decorating and may try to incorporate a few when i get moved hopefully soon. Thank you so much💯💯💯
Your house is beautiful like it is
A big green tall plant in that area by the TV
Maybe a blanket ladder, so its taller
A corner book shelf. To balance it out.
How about a shelf above the tv
I always go with Less Is Best. You have a lot of decor already. Decorate others houses and leave yours like it is.
Tall lamp or how about some baskets? By the way, if you look on Pinterest the majority of the pics are heavy on the decor. Just FYI.
yes on the shelf !!!!
A 6ft blanket ladder would look better, instead of the quilt rack.
I would take the arches down. Everything seems off balance. It competes too much with your fireplace.
Maybe a large ladder blanket rack
No more on the wall by the TV. To much already
Try a pop of yellow by the tv or mantle
Just move the blanket rack and move the TV / console to the left to center it on the wall instead of where it is now.
Maybe a clock ??

You have a lovely home and beautifully decorated. Please don’t take my opinion as negative. ❤️
That empty space I would put to hanging candle or three....at different heights...love what you’re doing with the house....
A long white shelf about 15" above the TV FULL of greenery, some trailing down.
wall clock, painting, or statue?
I think the whole thing just needs to be centered on that wall. It's all crammed too close to fire place and then leaving a blank area on the wall.
I think you've got enough wood and iron. Maybe try some art on canvas.
I would just put a tall plant in the area!
Instead of a vase, maybe something more organic and natural, like a tall basket of those flowers..
Blanket ladder or something with height
I would remove the arched windows from either side of the tv. One lamp or flower arrangement on tne left is better. Too cluttered with all the accessories on the mantle. I would not put anything in the corner behind the couch.
You could add a small console or hutch in the breakfast room.
Library or dining room? Can be both with bookshelves decorated nicely in the dining room.
Don't forget to eat breakfast
Food makes your brain work better (like fuel for your car) I always told my kids.
I was going to say a tall plant too!
How about a floor lamp by the TV
Something green.
