What's the search performance like on a realistic database with thousands of records? How much overhead does this vector create?

Great question! The vector comparison time would increase linearly with the number of records. Basically what this is doing is finding the cosine similarity between the prompt vector and each record vector, sorting the results, and finding the first (x) records. It would depend on how much time the cosine similarity calculation takes in comparison to the sorting of the results. Depending on how large the database is, we may recommend a server schedule that creates vectors at night.
