I have been watching Nigella for 20 years and I love how her recipes reflect life’s progression. When her children were little, her recipes were about making memories with her children through comfort food: Sunday roasts on rainy days, chocolate cake, hearty stews, delicious pasta dishes. Now that her children are grown & flown, her recipes are simpler and streamlined and, dare I say, more health conscious in line with growing older. It’s a beautiful to see.
Nigella is my biggest inspirations when I cook. I am not a chef and I do not even know how to make many dishes but she showed me that cooking can be fun and relaxing. She really did change the way I view food, cooking, and eating.
This is the first time I've come across her video. She is easily captivating and her voice is like a gentle head massage - brilliantly calming. No wonder she has such a great fan following! For this recipe, I would suggest dressing with a bit of EVO oil.
Nigella is such a relaxing, soothing cook. A treat at the end of a long day. Wish she was a professional baker and could become a judge on the GBBO. I can't stand either of the present judges. Ones worst than the other! They need a lovely new face with sincere charisma and creative new baking ideas.
I have enjoyed this several times after trying it the first time last year and it just gets better and better each time. My guests love it and I take it with me to each barbeque invite upon request. It's delicious and very simple to prepare. Thank you so much Ms Lawson.
I'm on Ketogenic foods and this is brilliant even with a little tomatoes . Can I suggest you lightly cook some fresh minced garlic at the last minute. Love the idea of parsley Thank you 😊
"Both cauliflower and chickpeas come with a stand a bit of fierceness" - only Nigella Lawson can come up the most glorious, expressive, beautiful description like this! She makes you want to eat the dishes she cooks with her flamboyant use of language. It takes a creative director & producer to let her be herself and not ask her to tone down or to follow formulaic format.

I may not have liked the politics of her distinguished father, but there's no doubt he did an excellent job of bringing up his daughter! She's eloquent, pleasant, elegant and more than anything genuinely looks like she's enjoying what she's doing. I really enjoy watching her cook as she has the capacity not only to introduce original and interesting recipes but to lift the soul also.
I made this last night. It was delicious. The spices were subtle but tasty. I didn't have any harissa paste but did have harissa spices which was OK but I will get some paste for next time to give more of a kick of chilli.
I cooked this tonight and really enjoyed it warming and comforting great and healthy too!ate some of this while watching Casper :-) thank you for this NIgella! you're a true Domestic Goddess! I caught this on tv and came here to double check the ingredients. simple to make and the plus I have it for tomorrows lunch! :-)
I usually bake it for 25 minutes gas mark 6, then add the chickpeas I used tins ones and I wash and drain those quickly ...I add harissa to the chickpeas and tomatoes any will do! and cook another 10 minutes but I do put foil over mine. I also buy frozen cauliflower as a stock up to make this anytime I cant get fresh! fresh will cook faster about 20 minutes. make sure to season it well :-) after I like to plate it up then break feta and some oregano on the feta from a spice jar! if needs be cheaper. then squeeze the pomegranate onto the whole meal ( not int he bowl!) and a small squeeze of lemon juice ( fresh for me) and put all this on top of any salad I like I often cut up a normal lettuce and place it under it. just any salad under it will work really. good luck enjoy and dont forget the pomegrante do make the dish. I also make another version with no cooking involved and no cauliflower its just as nice.
I just made fresh harissa paste and storing it in the fridge. I am finding fresh harissa much nicer then the store bought one. The bonus is you can store it a month. ;-)ill message you on it.
harissa paste lemon juice, olive oil fresh chillies mint cumin tomato pure garlic stick all in a blender don't forget to season it with salt/pepper. then blend I use my nutribullet. any will do. then store in a sterilised jar/ old jam jar will do. after each use top with olive oil keeps a month. it wont taste nice while cold I guarantee it! yet when you put it on the chickpeas cook it , it'll be fine. I also use paste in a tube from asda for 75p a tube . hope this helps. happy cooking! I also dont always use pomegrantes, today didnt have any but ate it anyhow. still adding feta on top extra sprinkling of lemon juice and oregano from a spice jar. ( you can substitute the harissa for chilli paste with garlic in it or not.

+Ngoc Ho Worried about Nigella? One of the most successful woman on the planet.... Eating with passion is one of the best things we can do for the body, regardless of what we eat. Moderation and harmony are the keys. Noone got overweight (nor got high bloodpressure) from ONE piece of anything, whether it's her sweet dishes or the heavy ones. Besides, she always added that we could subsitute any of her ingredients with the ones we prefer. I loved her series before and love it now!! xxx

Her voice is so different now. It's dropped from a mezzo to almost purely contralto. She still sounds great, it's just a bit of a shock after watching nothing but her old videos and shows recently.
I'm making this tonight. Don't have any pomegranates in the house so using orange segments instead. (There's half a BIG cauliflower left and a tin of chickpeas - why not) Can't wait.
