I've done a fair bit of coaching when I was high diamond/challenger (back then there was only Diamond followed by challenger) and it's nice to see the same stuff still applies: to focus on a gold lead. Now for Junglers it's a bit different and my coaching was for toplane mostly, but pretty much lower elos love to brawl out their brain, someone wins which is often a coinflip, they base and repeat. A kill is worth a lot of gold, but what's worth even more are minions. A full wave is ~100 Gold, meaning 3 of them is equal to a kill, as well as a lot of experience (though you get that just by being around, then again constant fights mean you are not around anymore). And the main value of kills isn't actually the Gold you get out of it, but the downtime the enemy has gold and XP wise. Whenever it clicked that kills are just a tool to make the enemy weaker and not to make yourself stronger, and that minions are the way to make yourself stronger, people started fighting a lot less and instead they just poked. And poked. And poked. While farming. And eventually the enemy who tried to brawl all the time, so they kept walking into the poke expecting a fight they'd win, but backing off prevented that, had to go back to base and a lead was created. Repeat and suddenly you are 1-2 levels up with a 60 CS lead, which is worth ~1000 Gold and way more in stats (especially at breaking points that give ult/lvl up ult). And it's not surprising that this turning point got him on a winstreak right into plat. Even if your skill isn't great, if you just have more stats this can compensate for a lot, and skill will grow over time by doing stuff again and again.
This is why Alois is such a good top lane coach, don't really like pub stompers and he does that to some extent but he never tries to force kills unlike other youtubers. He repeats video after video: level up timers, jungle tracking, when to proxy, when to play on your turn, when to try to play on the enemies turn, how to build farm leads and therefore gold and xp leads, when to take standing gold from the map (towers etc.), what the rare cases are that roaming is actually worth. All these small things that have nothing to do with getting a kill or using champion mechanics. These universal concepts that can be applied to any champ, arguably in any lane too.

How does QT feel that she could never give Ludwig the satisfaction Tyler1 did with just one sentence?
He finally achieved the no showering achievement
0:59 NO mf need this many tabs
almost like he has them queued up for the events
did you even watch the video?
This is a literal fuckin movie storyline. Underdog pulls ahead to win right at the end. Whatever celestial being wrote this line got paid 😅
I've been watching youtube for like more than 15 years now and I have less than 100 liked videos, this one was one of the best, most entertaining and most motivational gaming videos I've watched on youtube in a long time and it was immediately in my likes, I didn't even realise it was 44 minute video.
Congratulations Ludwig from video games you deserve it.
This was a generational run.
Hats off to you.
shake took the not doing work comment on the yard seriously and banged this out insanely quick.
great edit, great vid :)
the score esports has to hop on this story bro, so many insane twists, with the last day of ranked being the day he hit, the amount of games so close to what he called, and the power outage right after. the stars have aligned
Lud can go back to being a productive member of society now!!
With a crippling league addiction 😅
Wdym? He's still a streamer
he said hes going for diamond lmao
@@LazoGT Did he? Thought I heard him say on the BBC podcast he wouldn't try for diamond now but might try making it to plat in other roles
EDIT: lmao he says he's going to in this vid, mbmb
Perryjg is the goat, so glad to see him getting recognised for the awesome job he does
Tylers clapping reminds me of when shinji is getting congratulations and claps of everyone he knows. Congratulations Lud!
Omedetou!!!
Bro him throwing the cat tree REALLY puts this in perspective goddamn man that’s really rough
i don't even play league but this was an incredible journey to watch
"I was the mobile game ad of LoL" this legit took 3 years of my life from laughter
Imagine my utter shock and surprise when I'm watching a fnaf video and the first video recommended is this one, uploaded 38 minutes ago, when I watched Lud's League Week video about 3 hours ago after having never heard of it. What an insane arc
Number 1 rule of League of legend.
You don't have allied just red ennemy and blue ennemy
Ludwigs the only streamer that can make league of legends content entertaining
Congratulations mate. I belived in you, and I can tell you that diamond, even masters, even maybe grandmaster is possible if you put your mind to it. I used to have a similar journey in 2018 overwatch and it does feel good. Diamond is within reach, don't let the haters beat your achivements down.
That is 100% not true if you don’t get there within 2 seasons or even close you will never get there also there’s a huge skill gap in emerald ranking in league extremely difficult compared fps games
Tyler is a content beast. Man gave you such an incredible story. To be fair it’s Lud that made it enjoyable.
But let’s thank Tyler for this too. It wouldn’t have been as fun without him.
The final push to Plat on the last day with 10 game win streak across the finish line is insane.
Ludwig is so flustered by tyler's compliment he about to milk this for all of 2025
“I’m not flaming, I’m just saying”
Proceeds to roast Ludwig harder than any MW2 lobby has ever seen.
Putting 700 hours into something legally does not qualify as an accident 😂
You showed a really good example of what a League player should be, thank you
1:41 bro close your tabs
I'm sure that your comment is mainly a joke, but in case you don't watch Lud's streams, the tabs are how he prepares and structures these storytime streams. By the end, they're gone.
I know nothing about league of legends, theatrics and entertainment for the videos aside- there was something so wonderful about seeing you just full-send this challenge to the very end ! little cringy and embracing to admit that- but i found your dedication genuinely a little inspiring lol. Anyways i pretty much never comment on UA-cam videos but even if you don't read this I felt compelled to say- thank you.
This lore goes deeper than the Titan submersible
Nothing but congratulations Ludwig, very impressive stuff holy moly.
Amumu was my go to when I started learning league 3 years ago and got to plat with him aswell. Swapped to other champs after trying to climb higher (gm peak atm) but he is still pickable from time to time.
If you ever think about getting to diamond, just know that it is quite a jump from plat, but from what I’ve seen you are more than capable of doing so.
This was a wild ride, congrats Ludwig. It's not always about being better than anyone else, sometimes all you can do is focus on improvement step by step until you climb the mountain.
Genuinely this achievement is super impressive. People have played for YEARs and struggle to hit plat. People who dont know league dont know how truly impressive this is.
plat to diamond is a different beast lud.. would honestly be better to study other roles than do a one trick amumu run
lol 😂 he hasn’t even played in plat yet though he literally hit it then stopped playing
For someone who have quit doing ranked for 5 years, peaked at diamond 1 and only played other game mode like classic and aram for fun... Your story made me want to challenge myself again at ranked. Props to you Lud.
I think the best thing about this video is that people will search "beat league" and find Trin's channel and Beat League series.
this is my favorite ludwig arc for sure, so impressive! ngl i was using this challenge as a "groundhog day" if the year would be good lol true anime story and it feels like anything is possible in this crazy world
I never played LoL before, I have never watched LoL before. Ludwig somehow made me watch League even though I don't understand a thing about that game.
Low-key Ludwig has now the mental to improve and learn the game. Diamond is achievable but it requires high game knowledge now. He now needs to learn what others champs do and items etc. GOOD JOB 🎉🎉🎉
11:43 you didn't realize it but you pulled off the golden scarecrow combo and absolutely demolished those s*lvers minds. Truly a student of 6pek.
mind = controlled
Out of all of the underdog stories Lud has told, this has to be one of the greatest, most impressive/ fulfilling feats to accomplish. Genuine recognition, pro/ former pro players coming together as a community to work toward a common cause, building a community centered around a common goal; this is definitely, without a doubt, one for the books🤙
You know what Lud, maybe Amumu finally has a friend that treasure him.
Lud is literally a case study in how tilting prevents you from climbing more than being bad
38:40 i actually in all my years never imagined myself a hairist, but seeing tylerone like that, he actually is so freakin hot, like his facial structure is absolutely to die for
What the fuck
Tyler1 scares me. His rage over nothing is terrifying to watch.
43:26 Bro is not getting out
there's something magical about chat finally being able to say hi to youtube frogs from twitch.
Tyler is like the Jr. High boy who secretly likes a girl but has to say bad things so his bros don't rag on him.
Its insane how he basically brute forced his way to plat, respect for the grind tho
Yep, I also relapsed after watching Ludwig's fiddlesticks. To be fair, I was noticing his improvements, I didn't think he'd hit plat, but I actually feel so proud.
Could have been born at literally any time in history yet I was blessed to be alive to witness ludwig hit plat. What a treat.
Ludwig and Tyler1 duo has got to happen or at least one game
basically what ludwig is trying to say. if everyone coaches you then you'll climb.
Another chapter for the autobiography

"I'm not flaming, I'm just saying" never fails to make me laugh 😂😂
