Great videos. I'm just getting started. This is the 3rd one watched and the progressive level of the tutorials are awesome. Thanks for preparing these.
This was super helpful. I typically use dominos and rabbits (rabbets?? Lol). So learning that skill would be fantastic. Need to check out your book. I really like the way you teach. Very easy to learn.
just a general question. i created a template for modelling. the instance i bring a tool e.g rectangular into the workspace a rectangle is formed at the origin without even clicking. then when i do click to draw a rectangle nothing happens and after a few atempts my axes are no longer in the original position as when opening sketchup for the first time. this prevents me from using custom templates and i have to set up a drawing style everytime i start modelling. it did work perfectly prior to this. what seem to be the reason for this?
If I were to do a tongue and groove to connect a straight board (lying flat) to the face of a curved board, I’d have to remove the wood to create the tongue at an angle. Can it tell me what degrees i need to cut so the board is flush with the round face after I insert the tongue. I’ll use a bandsaw to cut the curve but I’d need the miter cut first for a beginning & end point.
Hey MasterSketchUp, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I loved your videos. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you.
9:48 when I Push pull to remove the dado there is still the rectangle box in the wood piece. it didn't disappear any idea why this has happened? I can see it is still there and not removed if i hide the intersecting piece.
I am having the same issue with the online version. If I use the line tool it is impossible to select the drawn segment to continue with the push/pull tool
The hide all others, doesn't work like that with the free online sketchup, rather you have to click on the eye glasses on the far right and turn the option on and off.
I've watched a few of your videos now. You're a very calm and thorough teacher. Thanks!
If you're into metric... Love it. Great tutorial. Many thanks.
really great way to demonstration basic concepts in sketchup in a way that was very practical and useful to the wood-working project I am doing
that was ridiculous, best intro I've seen 👏

Great tutorial!
Thanks for the effort!
THANK YOU
do you have a tutorial on dimensions and cutlists?
Excellent tutorial
@12:08, I can't get that rectangle that you then offset for mortise.
amazing thanks dude
Bravo!

just love it when they don't answer...
I mean probably doesn’t help it’s a 2yr old video and I asked a year after he made it.
The Explanation is underrated
Instead of intersecting pieces we could use solid tools.
The first instruction doesn't work. It won't let me edit the dimensions of the rectangle.
when i double click it doesn't show me the entitys like yours it just highlights the object blue
any advice?ty
tripple klick
