Tom Rothman is the reason why CEOs in Hollywood often get such a bad name. Don't get me wrong; making movies is a business after all. Companies need to make profit, for if not, why exist? However, I'd like to believe that making good movies and money aren't mutually exclusive; that you can do both. Rothman's Reign of terror is not a prime example. By undercutting Bryan Singer to holding a vengeful vendetta, Rothman in all honestly shot Fox in the foot. To backtrack, usually, one of the reasons why people work is to make a salary. They often do the best they can so as not only to make money, but also not loose their job. In addition, assuming there is a hierarchy(like an office), incentives such as higher positions and pay often incentivize people to work harder. Having given two very successful hits, it is only natural that Singer should have gotten a raise and be resigned as quickly as possible. But Rothman your attempts to undercut him have cost you dearly. Movie studios notice talent. As such, they are not afraid of offering more lucrative offers as a means to get that talent. So when Singer left, it was perfectly justifiable. So when you tried to move up the third X-men movie as an attempt to snub Singer, that was your folly, Mr. Rothman. Your hubris clouded your judgement. Because to conclude this post, while movie studios' purpose is to make money, having connections to other directors, I argue is just as important, if not more, than making immediate profit. Sure, immediate profits are tangible and such affect the company in big ways(raises, hiring, more budget allocation), but in the long run, a movie studio that doesn't have a stream of directors is like a car without gasoline. You can push it, but for only so many miles before it gives up. So overall, I normally do not like using foul language, but screw Rothman. You sac of crap. I hope Deadpool's success can be a burning reminder of shitty tenure at Fox. Also, Great work as always, Andre.
Coming back here after Gal Gadot made Warner Brothers cut ties with Ratpac, aka Bret Ratner's company. The director of X-Men 3 should go nowhere near DC comic book films at this point. Thank you Gal, you're becoming a bit of a wonder in real life now!
Sounds like Rothman was a man who didn't play to win, but instead played not to lose. Which is why there were never any significant loses under him but why all the films were shite.
+Nick Whitney (whitniverse) Sounds like he just didn't like several genres and disregarded them even after being proven wrong. He was doing just want he felt like fucking doing at the time.
My guess is he's afraid to take risks and cares for financial stability, he probably thought things like "Ted sounds stupid an adult film with a talking toy that'll never be a hit" or "the original Independence Day was bad everyone knows bad movie sequels make less money" (which he was right about and I like ID4 and IDR) and "no one wants to see a romance based around a big disaster what kind of sicko are you Cameron what have you ever done for us" and as for AVP I can't find any logical reason he was against that it was a sure fire success he shouldn't have meddled and kept James Cameron on board
God, this guy Rothman almost sounds like a super-villain. It's no wonder Fox movies from the 2000s sucked, it's almost like as if he was trying to run the entire company into the ground.

***** What about Power Rangers? It's co-owned by Saban and Toei. Used to be owned by Disney and Toei and before that Saban and Fox (Toei was credited under a pseudonym in the early years of Power Rangers since they owned the source footage Super Sentai).
I'm so glad the 2016 Deadpool movie turned out great, and it was a big hit too. If they can get back the same people for Deadpool 2, I'll be all for that movie.
chujackam No, the director is the one who made John Wick.. I don't know about the writers, though, maybe the same.. but, expect more action packed scenes. I'm looking forward to it! Cable & Domino!
Tom Rothman killed off Firefly????? Bastard!!!! I loved that series and was heartbroken when it was cancelled after one season then I nearly gagged on my own vomit on finding out Angel and Buffy were still going to be made afterwards.
Phil M J A To be fair, Buffy was on its final year when Firefly premiered (and died) & Angel would inherited the Birds of Prey timeslot in March of '03 before then WB President Jordan Levin slammed the ax in that 11 months later after the 100th episide aired
Sony needs to fire Rothman. He doesn't deserve to have anything to do with filmmaking in general. He doesn't even deserve a full-time job flipping burgers. He deserves a box next to a sewer line and nothing else.
+Barry Mclaren what did Kevin Feige ever do to you he's done some great work with the MCU and knows the issues Rothman caused FOX so is keeping him away
+Barry Mclaren I wouldn't want Wheadon in charge as he can't write for Thanos that's one of the reasons he left as he has issues writing for him, also Kevil runs things smoother than Zack Snyder he knows when to position films, place films in new areas if there are changes or are delayed and doesn't go out of his way to say bad things about DC unlike Snyder who said Ant-Man was a "flavour of the day super hero film" and doesn't boost his ego by calling it the Fiegeverse
+Mr Critical How funny. Snyder hates on Ant-Man, but that movie turned out great, as well as the sequel. Meanwhile, Snyder makes a bad DC movie, and partially makes even worse DC movie a year later.
Only slashing $15M from the budget. The whole shitfest there was Amy Pascal's doing just as her continuing to greenlight more of Adam Sandler's decent to washed up-dom
How can I have this much raw hatred for a man I didn't even know existed until I started watching this video??! Rothman truly IS Marvel's greatest supervillain!
Great video! I always heard about studio interference in movie production, but when a movie is bad and disappointing writers, directors and actors are blamed and gain the hate from the public. I liked to see the responsible for the derailment of so much super hero franchises gaining a face and receiving the deserved public attention. It also made me rethink my perception of this movies. Daredevil, X-men Wolverine and others still horrible, but I probably will not be so harsh on them next time I see them again, knowing the filmmakers were working with tied hands. Congratulations!
+Eduardo Real Thanks, glad to have added something to your perspective. So many filmmakers at Fox have really tried to make the best movie possible, but were blocked by the studio. That is past history of Deadpool on film right there.
Honestly, I listen to this video when I have trouble sleeping. It's soothing and yet also so important to me. As a film fanatic and a huge Deadpool fanatic.
Excellently done! I don't understand why studio interference is consistently such an enormous problem in Hollywood when history has shown how often it destroys profits and critical reception. Let your creators be creative, and the end result is guaranteed to be better. You're a businessman; what the fuck do you know about making a movie?
Well, now I finally get the context for Deadpool saying "Hi Tom!" in the leaked Deadpool proof of concept video. Didn't know how bad this guy was. Explains a lot, actually.
The irony is Live Free or Die Hard is actually pretty good. The only thing I don't like about it was the fact that Rothman forced the iconic McClane quote to be cut off. Plus, LFDH is a much better film than 2.
I knew a little about how Rothman messed with X-men but thanks for the full picture. While I still love the X-Men movies, it'd have been better to get an amazing X-men 3 and maybe even X-men 4 before the reboot. Fox made great superhero movies because of Singer and in spite of Rothman and their execs.
Drew McWeeny got himself and AICN permanently banned from all Fox events and screening after that article. Tom Rothman also forced Ridley Scott to cut 45 minutes from KINGDOM OF HEAVEN; the director's cut of which is now regarded as one of Scott's very best films. Well, by me, anyway.
Dude yet again, another amazing video w/amazing information. I was so glad to see this finally be made and be one of my top 5 marvel movies of all time.
Great journalism, guys! This clarifies why Fox movies have been so underwhelming, weird, tame and uninspiring. It's sad. Because It wasn't like in the old days when they gave us great movies like Star Wars, Conan the Barbarian, King Kong, Alien, Terminator, etc. I will admit I was a fan of Marvel/Fox. I watched all the X-Men, FF, Daredevil, Elektra, Aliens vs. Predators, Percy Jackson and etc in the theaters. I said they were good and entertaining. But there was always that nagging feeling that said I have to wake up one day and realize that these movies are actually not. Then BOOM! X-Men Origins: Wolverine happened. That was the time I finally saw the truth. That Fox really suck at making movies and I promised myself never to watch anymore in the theaters. However, Deadpool is a different case altogether! It looks promising. It's the only Fox movie I'm going to watch in the theater.
+ralph m the real problem is they are obsessed with making movies less than two hours which is the real reason josh trank went apeshit he had a 2 hour and 30 minute cut with a lot of character and story development, but the studio wanted basically an extended TV show pilot running at 100 mins. the re-shoots were there to try to patch the holes in the story-line that produced, and add humor. Didn't work. Not everything has to be a kids movie fox! hell all the deleted plot-lines were in the trailer. trank wanted to do something new with fantastic 4 they just wanted a more serious remake of the first movie. they did the same thing to jumper, the deleted scenes flesh out the movie and The X3 deleted scenes were awesome. If i were an editor id make a cut with those scenes put back in! This is why I want to try to get my "Raise the Britannic" movie made independently so I can actually make something worth a damn with a fucking story! And my style of music score everything is so interchangeable these days.
Tom Rothman leaves Fox after screwing up F4 and goes to Sony and now we hear about a venom solo film not connected to the MCU. This man has the anti-Midas touch. Everything he touches becomes terrible lol!
+Moses King Too right. The man gave Freddy Got Fingered the greenlight, for fuck sake. FREDDY GOT FINGERED!!! Oh, and let's not for get Glitter, the first three Chipmunk movies and fucking Meet the Spartans....
bigevilworldwide1 What are you talking about? If spiderman shows up in Civil war, then by default all films in the spiderman universe will take place in the MCU. Thats the whole point of Sony connecting the franchises together. But Tom Rothman has no idea of what he's doing and he's making Venom in a separate universe all together.
+Moses King Nope. The new Spider-Man was leased to the MCU, but Sony can still have its own Sony Spider-Man universe. That's what they did with the previous movies, and with Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
you guy are legit, i cant believe only 8k subs, if i have to watch another vidya with 4 dumdums sitting around a table talking about a movie im going to jump off a cliff. keep up the good work.
Great now that singer is outed as a monster, rothman gets a good boy points. For real, whatever ruins a predo like bryans day is a happy moment for me. Rothman gets that one gold star.
Agreed in retrospect I’m glad Singer was blocked off from X3 lol, he should have never been brought back too. They no doubt already knew about the allegations but did not care.
+The Sean Ward Show Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it. Likewise, your videos are awesome and very well made. Stick around, we like to think we are pretty informed here;p
X3 > Days of Future Past, there I said it. Best X-men movie was one not even directed by Bryan, which was First Class. What a slap in face to that director. X2 and X-Men Apocalypse were Bryans best X-Men movies. He had a plethora of source material and shat all over it. Marvel needs X-Men back.
+Joe Smith Thanks ... and you mean the NEXT Trankgate installment, which is being recorded as we speak. The FINAL one will be the one celebrating the FF's proverbial return to Marvel.
Let's not forget about good ol' Avi Arid, who insisted on shoehorning Venom into Spider-Man 3 and completely wrecking that franchise. Even though it was Sony, it's still a great example of executive interference in a Marvel movie.
With the 2015 Fantastic 4 film. Fox knew their were problems early on in production with Josh Trank. The problem was they felt if they fired him the film would have to be delayed and they would lose the rights back to Disney. Fox didn't want to risk losing the rights. With the earlier Fantastic 4 films their were problems before the films were released. Jessica Alba has since said she hated working on the films and only did the second one because she was contractually obligated. With Fantastic 4 two, they combined the story of what was supposed to be 2 films into one. The original idea for Fantastic 4 and 3 was that the Silver Surfer would be the villain in the second one and then it would set up Galactus for the 3rd one. Fox lost faith and weren't sure they would make a third one so they basically combines the ideas for both films into. We did see a tease for the Sentinal's in X-men 2
Sooo this Rothman guy is the one responsible for the cancellation of Firefly? Probably Terra Nova too among others... Another name to add on the shitlist...
This movie was like David and Goliath: literally everything was against it (first-time director, stars character who failed before, lower budget, etc.), and yet came out on top. Just goes to show what a little faith can do
Just goes to show what will happen if you let people with talent and skills do, you know, what they're talented and skilled in. Sounds like Rothman was essentially an armchair director that had no business making creative or greenlighting decisions.
As to the explicit paragraph of the open letter not read out was referencing Rothman's marriage to actress Jessica Harper, who also starred in Richard O'Brien's 1981 (s)equal to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment
+satellite964 You basically described Dan DiDio and he actually started his career as part of a prodiction crew on a lesser known ABC soap way before Reboot, his fucking up Transformers: Beast Wars and his own reign of terror editor wise at DC Comics
+Midnight's Edge. I find it funny that when I was watching a Fox Legacy episode about "Cleopatra" (since I have the movie on Blu-ray), Rothman says a bunch of stuff about how studio execs should not bother with a director's vision on a big, historical epic. And yet this is the same f**kwad who demanded Ridley Scott to cut off important scenes and plot points from another big, historical epic (Kingdom of Heaven) so that Rothman can get more butts in theaters and market it as a swords and sandals, adventure film even though it was more of an action-drama about religious conflicts.
it wouldn't have mattered, those movies couldn't have been worse if they tried. besides, fox had nothing to do with the prequels as lucasfilm was an independent studio. fox was just the distribution.
Waiting for it, your videos are top notch and interesting to hear. You deserve more suscribers for all your research Also anuthing supergirl related? There may have been a lot going behind the scenes after the reactions to the trailer up to the series being demoted to the CW
Cris Lenci Nothing Supergirl or CW related, sorry. At best, that stuff will get a mention in a future dealing with the movie side of things. The reason is simply that there is so much out there that in order to maintain quality, I have to draw the line somewhere.
If these studio executives like Tom Rothman love being so hands-on and insistent on the movies being made their way then why don't they just direct the damn things themselves?
They don't actually have the 'talent' to direct. Just like when execs from other industries join a game development company (EA, for example). It becomes: make last year's version, but with better graphics! Generally, the games that tank hard are the ones the execs had more hands on. For movies, this mainly occurs when they get their mitts on beloved franchises or source material that they don't read or understand themselves.
It's a typical trait of narcissistic micro-managers - they want other people to do all the hard work while they look over shoulders and add their "stamp" to everything. In their minds, they then become the "creator" of the project, even though the project would have been far better off without them. If the project fails, they can blame the director or the writers or any other scapegoat. If it succeeds, they can sing their own praises about how every part of the project was their idea. See how that works...?
altmarket Yeah. Exactly. I think the actual creators are the directors, developers, designers, actors, special effects artists, etc etc. It's a shame just a few bad decisions by a micro managing manager/ceo/exec can kill a project that a bunch of 'talented' people put together.
Wow. Nobody bats a thousand, but DAMN. That dude sounds like a reverse barometer for success. He should just go with that. Just tell Sony the movies he DOESN'T want to make, and they could immediately green-light those projects. Everybody wins.
So Rothman was why Firefly died... all these years I blamed Gail Berman (and she was a executive producer on it and Buffy prior to becoming a a network exec) just as I hold her in contempt for canceling Titus
+kory stephens She probably wasn't entirely innocent either, but the one who called the shot, the one who didn't want that sci-fi stuff on his channel, was Tom Rothman.
Midnight's Edge i know she's not innocent. Never thought I'd say this but we all finally found our American equivilant of former BBC1 Controller Jonathan Powell in Rothman. Like him, Powell had/still has a huge hate for sci-fi too & was (along with his predecessor Michael Grade) wanted Doctor Who dead in the mid to late 80s
+Midnight's Edge Speaking of no innocence, Alan Horn sure isn't exempted from questionable decisions during his WB days (i.e. Catwoman, Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, etc.) despite good ones made. Hell, he's the reason DC Comics is a right mess in the form of Dan DiDIo coming to power and Vertigo turning into a shell of it's former glory far as the contract stipulations.
When Rothman dies, tens of millions of people will stand up and applaude. I can only hope when that day comes, thousands of fans will surround the cemetery dressed as Deadpool to let the industry know just how pissed the people that pay them are.
I love your work Midnights Edge. I recently did a review of Fant4stic and I linked to your Trankgate series to provide additional context to the audience of my criticisms of Josh Trank. I would probably say Tom Rothman has been the second greatest villain to cinema of all time. The greatest being Michael Bay
+Loudmouth Reviews Thanks for the shoutout, enjoyed your Fant4stick review a great deal! As far as the greatest villain to cinema of all time goes, I agree that Rothman deserves to be very near or possibly at the top spot. I can see why many might feel that way about Bay too, but he at least can only influence movies that are either directed by him personally or made by Platinum dunes. Franchises that transcend its own celluloid, such as Alien, Predator, Firefly, Die Hard, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Hitman and more are all out of Bay's reach, while Rothman has screwed up every single one of them. That earns him a few more points in my book;p
+Midnight's Edge My first review on my site was for Alien vs Predator Requiem and I kind of regret not giving Rothman a mention in it. I picked it as the first to review because I honestly consider it to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen period. I say Bay is the worst thing in cinema because while most filmmakers who are met with terrible reviews seem to be hurt by things like that Bay on the other hand seems critic proof. No matter how much advanced warning is given that his movies will be yet again more lazy trash his movies still open big. I guess its more of an indictment on the movie going public than on Bay but it is still very frustrating to see such a lack of effort and talent get rewarded. That's why I still consider him cinema's greatest villain because he shows that treating the audience like idiots can be profitable which probably sends a bad message throughout the industry
This reminds me of what happened to Disney during the later years of Micheal Eisners as CEO. He forced many mandates, made sure executives were making the creative decisions, and basically burn down bridges with Hollywood. Most notably Pixar whom owner Steve Jobs was planning to separate from over his hatred to Eisner. Eventually the Disney shareholders had enough of him and the board of directors outright fired Eisner from his position. They then chosed Bon Iger as the new CEO and he has allowed an hands off approach to the company and left creators to do their own thing and brought the company back on its feet.
+Brandon Lyon Not only that, Bob Iger was instrumental in Disney buying both Marvel and Lucasfilm for 4 billion each, and then supported them while they did their thing - which turned out to be possibly the best decisions in Disney history.
It's amazing how Deadpool, a medium budget R-rated movie that was expected to fail, made, let alone grossed, much more money than X-Men Apocalypse, which was likely expected to be the bigger spectacle. Talk about the Underdog.
What I find the most amusing about all this is that the single best X-Men film ever made just came out, and it ends with every single X-Man dead, without exception. Maybe Rothman's problem was that he didn't go far enough...
Hopefully, Rothman doesn't interfere too much in the Spidey reboot flicks. Though from what I've heard, the deal that Pascal and Feige made makes it rather difficult for Rothman to potentially interfere. Also, I think Rothman has learned now that Sony as a whole wants to play ball with Marvel, so I hope he'll be more careful when dealing with Marvel and other Sony execs favorable to Marvel.
well it wasn't just him it was a group of people and it wasn't because of creative reasons it was just lack of ratings and they all openly admitted that they regretted it but Tomm is an ass for doing all that other stuff
+Nyota Uhura heck out the picture below, it is pretty applicable to the situation: playingintheworldgame.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/skeletor-wikipedia.jpg
Affleck's "Argo" is still a big lie, because that's not how it really happened, just like "The Great Escape" decades earlier. B.A. still needs a punch in the mouth from me over it. I hate that he's the new Batman, too much of a pretty boy.
+5555144 Thanks - that's very nice feedback, as we try to get to the story behind the spin and marketing that the others either don't see or gloss over.
I hear the person who leaked the concept trailer for Deadpool. His name rhymes with Bryan Breynolds. Not sure who it could be though. Do you know anyone whose name rhymes with Bryan Breynolds.
I really hope you make more of these videos. Subbed. Are you all gonna beef up your podcast game? I only see a few on there. I'd love to listen to this stuff on the road .
+Marconius17 We will make more of these videos, no worries there. As for the podcasts, Kevin was the one doing that. He's on a leave of absence now, and I (Andre) have my hands filled scripting and making all the videos. But if I find the time for it, I'll look into getting the podcasts back up and running too. No promises of exactly when though.
I only just now realized Tom Rothman must have been the same Tom Deadpool waved at and said hi to in the leaked footage. That had to have been the biggest middle finger ever thrown his way without hoisting up the actual digit.

Sony stayed sucking even before the email leaks
Sony should retire from the film industry and start working as a prostitute since that's what they're good at... Sucking so much cock!
Tom Rothman is turning Sony Pictures in to the next Cannon Group
***** What about Power Rangers? It's co-owned by Saban and Toei. Used to be owned by Disney and Toei and before that Saban and Fox (Toei was credited under a pseudonym in the early years of Power Rangers since they owned the source footage Super Sentai).
***** ah ok
I'm so glad the 2016 Deadpool movie turned out great, and it was a big hit too. If they can get back the same people for Deadpool 2, I'll be all for that movie.
+AshXXMayftw Don't worry, the same people are working on Deadpool 2 (right now).
chujackam No, the director is the one who made John Wick.. I don't know about the writers, though, maybe the same.. but, expect more action packed scenes. I'm looking forward to it! Cable & Domino!
Above Beyond
I believe the same writers are still on.
AshXXMayftw that's good news!
Above Beyond It's not confirmed yet. RR and writers are still the same. Also look at the date when I posted my comment...
+Phil M J A Buffy and Angel may be good, but Firefly really wasn't given a chance. Rothman is a scumbag.
Next Deadpool villain- Rotman: master of decay.
+addressedtokill Remember the test-footage and how the Deadpool said: "Hi Tom" ? Yeah, Tom Rothman.
+chujackam nevermind i misheard it, he says tom
Maybe in the sequel he'll have a list of targets from his merc jobs mixed with a shopping list and on it will be Tom Rothman's name in big letters
You should also add Ike Perlmutter in the mix…
Hey, cool it with the antis… actually, nm, carry on.
Sony needs to fire Rothman. He doesn't deserve to have anything to do with filmmaking in general. He doesn't even deserve a full-time job flipping burgers. He deserves a box next to a sewer line and nothing else.
Well apparently Feige is keeping him away from Spider-Man Homecoming so we should be safe
@@somedude9528 this aged like milk lmao
Nowadays Tom is "Helping" with the new Ghostbusters film.
Holy shit...
Basically everything I have hated and still hate about movies for the last several decades comes down to this one fucking man.
anonamatron He really is a damn super villain to movies everywhere.
Only slashing $15M from the budget. The whole shitfest there was Amy Pascal's doing just as her continuing to greenlight more of Adam Sandler's decent to washed up-dom
Tom Rothman also screwed over Genndy Tartakovsky and Lauren Faust by cancelling Popeye & Medusa and green lighting things like The Emoji Movie.
SmashGod 1999
Seems like he's pretty much the devil incarnate.
How can I have this much raw hatred for a man I didn't even know existed until I started watching this video??!
Rothman truly IS Marvel's greatest supervillain!
+Women's Studies Textbook Watch the videos made after this, Rothman is featured in some of them. ...he keeps on doing what he does best!
“Audience would reject giant robots.” Tom Rothman I believe Japan would like to have a word with you.
That's the story behind
"Hi, Tom!"
Rothman strikes again he just pulled Holland and Spider-Man from the MCU 🤦🏻♀️
These Mini- Docs are freaking amazing. I could watch these all day.
Honestly, I listen to this video when I have trouble sleeping. It's soothing and yet also so important to me. As a film fanatic and a huge Deadpool fanatic.
1 dislike, huh? I know it's you, Tom.
He's made 14 accounts to dislike so far (and counting...)
Excellently done! I don't understand why studio interference is consistently such an enormous problem in Hollywood when history has shown how often it destroys profits and critical reception. Let your creators be creative, and the end result is guaranteed to be better. You're a businessman; what the fuck do you know about making a movie?
All I'm hearing is that: If Rothman hates it, Make it.
Well, now I finally get the context for Deadpool saying "Hi Tom!" in the leaked Deadpool proof of concept video.
Didn't know how bad this guy was. Explains a lot, actually.
+gamephreak5
Well, now you know. Which is said to be half the battle.
Great video! This man is notoriously known for ruining Marvel movies, as he did with Spider-man today.
Rothman also mandated that Live Free or Die Hard be PG-13 and he hired Len Wiseman.
He also green-lighted A Good Day to Die Hard.
The irony is Live Free or Die Hard is actually pretty good. The only thing I don't like about it was the fact that Rothman forced the iconic McClane quote to be cut off. Plus, LFDH is a much better film than 2.
PS: There are only FOUR Die Hard movies. 5 never happened
I wonder, did Rothman have a hand in Dragonball Evolution? If so, that would explain so much.
Akuma3671 Maybe he was The Big Top executive At Fox around The Time the Movie Come Out!
Dude yet again, another amazing video w/amazing information. I was so glad to see this finally be made and be one of my top 5 marvel movies of all time.
when rupert murdoch tells you that you're hurting moral, you dun goofed.
Rothman... KIller of dreames. din't see F4 the reboot, never will.
+El Kapitan As of 2018, have ya seen Logan? That movie was as equally satisfying, as the ending was depressing.
Tom Rothman leaves Fox after screwing up F4 and goes to Sony and now we hear about a venom solo film not connected to the MCU. This man has the anti-Midas touch. Everything he touches becomes terrible lol!
+Moses King Yeah, that about sums it up.
9:00
2016: Apocolypse "Hold my beer."
2019: Dark Phoenix "pssshhh that's nothing, watch this."
you guy are legit, i cant believe only 8k subs, if i have to watch another vidya with 4 dumdums sitting around a table talking about a movie im going to jump off a cliff. keep up the good work.
+TheDallasdeadeye Thanks, we intend to!
They no doubt already knew about the allegations but did not care.
this is great. I make only Superhero videos, I'm a huge fan, but I didn't know any of this! great research, well presented.
+The Sean Ward Show Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it. Likewise, your videos are awesome and very well made. Stick around, we like to think we are pretty informed here;p
Great video and very insightful!
Now he's at Sony where they still hold the rights to Spider-Man good luck marvel dealing with this fool
What is the absolutely breathtakingly brilliant music playing throughout this??
Guys this video is a piece of art, so well crafted and informative!! Looking forward to the final trankgate instalment
+Joe Smith Thanks ... and you mean the NEXT Trankgate installment, which is being recorded as we speak.
The FINAL one will be the one celebrating the FF's proverbial return to Marvel.
+Midnight's Edge we can live I hope this return eventuates, in the meantime I trust you guys will document any developments thoroughly
We did see a tease for the Sentinal's in X-men 2
Well... Deadpool didn't exactly ignore Origins: Wolverine, it just poked fun at it.
Mercilessly.
Great vid guys!
Looking forward to more :)
Hopefully, you guys will do a follow up to the deadpool video.
As to the explicit paragraph of the open letter not read out was referencing Rothman's marriage to actress Jessica Harper, who also starred in Richard O'Brien's 1981 (s)equal to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment
This guy should be making soap operas. His creative capacity can't fathom or handle comic books.
David Bowie is dead, while Tom Rothman is still breathing..........8(
Just imagine what it would have been like if Tom Rothman had interfered with the STAR WARS prequels for some reason....
it wouldn't have mattered, those movies couldn't have been worse if they tried.
besides, fox had nothing to do with the prequels as lucasfilm was an independent studio. fox was just the distribution.
Thomas Rothman. One of the guys behind the new Ghostbusters movie.
I can't wait for that one. :)
Any chance of getting a series of what happened with Green Lantern?
A whole series, like with Spider-man? Nope, sorry.
But one video devoted primarily to Green Lantern is just a matter of time.
Waiting for it, your videos are top notch and interesting to hear. You deserve more suscribers for all your research
Also anuthing supergirl related? There may have been a lot going behind the scenes after the reactions to the trailer up to the series being demoted to the CW
Cris Lenci
Nothing Supergirl or CW related, sorry.
At best, that stuff will get a mention in a future dealing with the movie side of things. The reason is simply that there is so much out there that in order to maintain quality, I have to draw the line somewhere.
Executives. They sure do deserve those millions.
The article referred in minute 4:40 ish is from 2005 and it has a reference to The Force Awakens at the right. Was the title known back then Already?
The article is from 2005, but the screencap, meaning the other news, is from the day the video was made.
with deadpool 2 now out on digital, this might be the last hurrah for Fox before Disney assumes full ownership of the 85 year old studio next year...
Alan Boody Let's be honest, it wouldn't be the first time someone with zero talent directed a movie.
Wow! Really impressive and informative. Thank you!
Just wow. All this mess can be traced down to one guy? Awesome video! I am sharing to everyone.
+Whtxombi It can indeed. He is the guy who greenlit the Jumanji remake at Sony too...
+Midnight's Edge Rothman is the geek equivalent of the Antichrist! So many good movies lost or delayed because of this creep.
I'm willing to bet there's not 100 people who even know that name
+E.P. James MacAdams Beg to differ, there are at least 54 thousand now.
This is the best channel ever. Definitely subbing. :)
What is the music that’s playing in the background? 2:15
In regards to your bit about Steven Norrington; was Rothman also responsible for how League of Extraordinary Gentlemen turned out?
Rothman was all over that, yes.
Wow. How can one man make so many bad decisions and STILL have people accept his word? Dear lord.
Didn’t Sony bring Rothman in after the Ghostbusters debacle? After watching this video I have to ask, why?
u just earned a new sub!!! love your work brother.
A belated thanks!
Great video, and really, really interesting. This is why I love this channel and am glad I subscribed. :-D
+galmorzu Thanks for the praise, we do our best!
What I find the most amusing about all this is that the single best X-Men film ever made just came out, and it ends with every single X-Man dead, without exception. Maybe Rothman's problem was that he didn't go far enough...
i'm scared for Deadpool 3. since marvel is owned by disney now.
It's funny seeing this video now knowing how everything involved turned out.
now he's ruining spider-man at sony
That's more so Amy Pascal. She and her production company oversees Spider-Man for Sony.
I pray Disney buys Sony one day.
@@Da1Dez HECK NO.
So Rothman's at Sony now, huh? Suppose it's no coincidence this Emoji Movie has recently become a thing
If Rothman was still at Fox I could see him causing Wes Anderson having a mental breakdown seeing as how he hates all things creative
Sony got the rights from a bidding war with Warner Bros and Paroumont, though he might have told them to auction for it.
Another fantastic video. Thanks for your hard work.
wait wait, he cancelled firefly? Why has this man not been publicly shamed and lynched?
well it wasn't just him it was a group of people and it wasn't because of creative reasons it was just lack of ratings and they all openly admitted that they regretted it but Tomm is an ass for doing all that other stuff
I think their partnership with Sony for shared rights of Spider-Man is the only thing keeping Marvel from making Rothman a villain in Marvel comics XD
You know Tom Rothman's wiki page he takes credit for the success of Titanic and Avatar and the X-Men franchise.
+Nyota Uhura heck out the picture below, it is pretty applicable to the situation:
playingintheworldgame.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/skeletor-wikipedia.jpg
Tom rothman is Deadpool real villain
Very informative video and great channel. Subscribed!
Is the picture of Deadpool vandalizing the Batman V Superman poster canon? I noticed that even Deadpool loves Wonder Woman.
I bet all those people who blamed Ben Affleck for Daredevil are eating a triple layer Humble pie right now after seeing this.
Affleck's "Argo" is still a big lie, because that's not how it really happened, just like "The Great Escape" decades earlier.
B.A. still needs a punch in the mouth from me over it. I hate that he's the new Batman, too much of a pretty boy.
I love your videos. Keep up the good work!
+5555144 We will do our best!
+Midnight's Edge You guys are so much better then TMZ and Collider.
+5555144 Thanks - that's very nice feedback, as we try to get to the story behind the spin and marketing that the others either don't see or gloss over.
No wonder they took out David Hayter on Xmen 3
I'm loving the videos guys great stuff
Rothman needs to retire from the industry. He's a hack.
