This is a fun one! My route to losing no units was to immediately reinforce the periphery with bunkers will of marines, tech towards siege tanks, and then build additional bunkers on the ridge overlooking the red cerebrate. The bunkers can protect tanks that siege the base, and with that setup you can then administer the coup de grace to red with the first two of your battlecruisers. Or, just keep making tanks and shield them with a science vessel to protect against the sunken colony as you siege the cerebrate directly. A fleet of battlecruisers can then kill the brown cerebrate, and with moderate repairs continue on to ssmash through the thinner defenses on the orange cerebrate attacking from over the lava in the northwest.

That ending video, kinda reminds me of those little news bit clips from starship troopers...

Heard the UED is kinda based off Starship Troopers, and the fact they're based on Earth it's kinda fitting to base the video on something that's already on Earth~

That propaganda film at the end reminds me of Starship Troopers. Now that I think about it, it has a lot of similarities to starcraft.

After months of losing to the smacked-up ultralisk, can't believe the "benign structures around your base" strategy works! Though they're expensive & time-consuming to build, those battlecruisers are FUN to use in groups of 12! The only thing I wished you did were building a science vessel to follow your fleet so that you blast those furrowed units too!

For me i just build a group of tank and shoot the ultralisk in tank mode.

@@rlouie05 Yep but in early game, it's much harder to get a good amount of BCs than getting 16+ siege tanks.
I even ditched Siege Mode research because of how early that Torrasque attacks

I always just built a large U-shaped blockade of bunkers with a bunch of tanks behind them. I should really just go for a shorter line of defense like this guy did, though.
But that defensive line, along with a bunch of tanks up on the southeastern ridge, always ensured that the torrosque never even got to make a single attack.

@@warrioroflight6872 Anything on the southeastern ridge requires enough air support to ensure their air units don't pick off your tanks & overlords don't carry ground units or the smacked-up ultralisk onto the ridge.
I wonder if anyone found a way to conquer that southeast island that has quite a bit of resources & could make a great 2nd or 3rd airport mid-way through this level.

I kinda wish that Stukov is the one leading the UED till the end. Even Kerrigan seem to respect him. Wonder how far the UED can go with him in the lead?

OK so it wasn't so impossible to capture the overmind. But I still think it won't end well. Anyways, jeez this sectors Terran government power changes hands like money.

They've been kinda used to it in the lore, and their sense of government is rather weakened by all Terrans here being descendants of...convicted criminals. Hardcore criminals. It's a wonder they survived and formed governments at all.

I've always been scared shi(r)tless every time I heard the Torrasque scream, and am amazed how you were able to wall yourself so well in such a cramp spot. I've been recently been watching your playlist of the Remastered and am enjoying the hell out of this, especially the ones that you speedrun through.
I wanted to ask you about something in regards to this mission: I didn't play other Starcraft players back when they originally came out, but somewhere in the old websites I heard that the Cerebrates' unique traits (the sunken colonies, the super Ultralisk, and the infested terrans) were based on actual players' strategies: since you've played a lot of online battles, I'm curious to know if you've ever heard of this and/or believe this to be true.
