24:32 not quite a group of people found an exploit that could be used to lag the server a ton, and instead of abusing it immediately, they thought about it and realized they could use it to create an even bigger exploit. They realized that the obvious way of patching it would most likely allow them to track player locations, so they started abusing it, and when the patch finally came, they checked, and sure enough, it was patched in a way where they could abuse it. Instead of the server loading the areas they were trying to access, it wouldn't load them if they weren't already loaded and would send an error message to the client. By using a script, they could detect that, and by seeing which areas the server said were loaded, they could tell there were players in those areas. They were also able to track who was who by tracking when players logged on and off, and seeing what chunks loaded and unloaded as they did. They developed quite a sophisticated set of systems for tracking specific players using this method. It wasn't until someone else realized and looked into the exploit that it got patched, and by then it had already done a lot of damage What's really interesting about the story in my opinion though is that one group of players realized there was a tracking exploit, though they didn't know what it was. They saw these botted accounts and realized they were likely related, and found their _own_ exploit to get those botted accounts kicked from the server temporarily. While the bots were offline, they were able to walk around untracked, and they moved to an area where nobody had ever been to build their base. To prevent it from being found, they forced all people in the group to only enter the base by using a remote teleportation device, so that they couldn't be tracked. All this, along with a few other rules they set up, made their base the _only_ base that was undiscovered by the exploit. If you're wondering why the exploit didn't find them when the bots rejoined, the bots only checked near chunks that they already knew were loaded, since checking the entire minecraft world would make it way too slow to be useful. By being so far away from any loaded areas, they guaranteed that the bots would never check where they were
