It's all or nothing. 99.9% is simply a partial eclipse and you'll miss all the things that totality brings. You won't be able to look at the sun without eye protection. Even being in the center of the path doesn't mean a thing if it's really cloudy. The path of totality only offers about a 40% chance of clear skies in the U.S at this time of year. Mazatlan, Mexico gives you a 75% chance of blue skies. The further North you go, the worse it gets. Texas is a pretty good bet, but it's still weather dependent. Know how to read weather maps and be ready to drive.
Pick your place carefully. Leave options for sudden relocation. Sudden temp change of shadow can create pop up thunderstorms that can quickly ruin the event if you can't move quickly.
I might make it to Uvalde Tx this map shows much of eclipse being there dead center for a good long time of four minutes lol 😂 . There are several places I could go including Boerne , Kerrville or Fredericksburg Tx
I live in Cleburne TX totality 1:40-1:43 unfortunately it’s supposed to also be severe weather tornados hail the whole spectrum after the eclipse hoping to see it but it might be cloudy. Yes a total Solar Eclipse can enhance severe Weather in certain conditions
This is all I needed to see. Anytime there is an eclipse of any kind, I always miss it and I guess I will have to wait 20 years for the next one. Plus it’s a Monday and I am a teacher. I will be tired from working with 7th graders that whole day.
Between waiting on iffy spring weather forecasts and the traffic situation to the rural area of New England, I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm sure campsites and hotels will all be full no matter what, and doing a 3-5 hour drive inland is a tough ask.
Im sorry, but that is not good enough. The reason people get so excited is because of the totality portion. Everything amazing happens in that strip. Even if there are no crowds, going to totality, especially if your that close makes so much of a difference. Your life will change if you see it 100% covered. Trust me! Take the hour drive or so, it's so worth it.
97% looks good on paper, but I think there's a good-enough difference to make a decent trip and see it whole. Maybe pick a state park to visit too. {next time, maybe}
I live in the path, near Lima, Ohio. The local chamber of commerce sent out an info sheet to prepare for it-things like filling your gas tank before all the lookie-loos and getting eclipse glasses early. One of their reminders was not to schedule important events such as funerals during totality. So inconsiderate of someone to die when an eclipse is imminent. 🙄
The epicenter obviously is not in Nazas but closer to Bermejillo. I'm planning to climb one of the mountains around the village of Dinamita and watch 🌑 from 2000 meters

If so, the Hill Country is going to be jam packed. It might be standing room only on top of Enchanted Rock!
Enchanted rock's parking lot isn't very big and they limit entry. I'm not sure if they expanded the capacity for this event but enchanted rock would be a great place for it if you have a reservation
my backyard, 15 min southwest of Indianapolis...caint wait.. Indy will probably have a huge crowd also, they will probably open the track. ..we get that from time to time🏁...
That’s where I plan on being. Flying from Florida
Wicked awesome!😊
Almost Home Church! Netchatef!👋😊❤❤❤
It seems like the west coast is the place to see it! Although I'm glad I only have to drive 2 hours this time around.
Looking for my place
I'm already excited 🎉
Kinda like my Mother-in-law's shadow when she comes into town.🙃 Love you Mom!!
Hahahahahaha.
😅😅😅
Hey-o!
I live in the DFW, and I'm stoked that the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is coming! The only time the total eclipse reaches my area! :D
Seen in 1:13 of the video.
Where I live, the eclipse will last for like 2.5 minutes. Most epic moment of my life not involving food or vacation is coming.
I’m in the same area (Arlington).
@@kaymuldoon3575 Ooh nice. Except I live north of Arlington.
I live right in the center of the totality shadow in Western NY. Cloudy or not it will be a great experience
exactly what i was looking for
A group of us will be in TX at Chalk Bluff in Uvalde - we have cabins by the river in totality!
Can I see it from South of Tulsa at all?
in Wenonah IL now, at Freedom Indiana during eclipse...right in the Center
Vamos a recibirlo en Las Labradas🌊🤠🧑🚀🖖🏼
Lucky to have moved to Hamilton, Ohio when I did, it's already getting nuts here and in neighboring Oxford.
Awesome simulation. I’ll be in Arizona so won’t get near totality. But the view should still be cool.
Pray 🙏
Overrated.....never works never will. Stop believing in something fake. Worthless.
Indianapolis. I've been waiting for this eclipse since I was a teenager. I'm 58 now😋.
wow.
Pick your place carefully. Leave options for sudden relocation. Sudden temp change of shadow can create pop up thunderstorms that can quickly ruin the event if you can't move quickly.
Waiting for it in my hometown Mazatlan MX the first point in main land to get the path.
I might make it to Uvalde Tx this map shows much of eclipse being there dead center for a good long time of four minutes lol 😂 . There are several places I could go including Boerne , Kerrville or Fredericksburg Tx
Great I live in Maryland and now I might not be able to see it 😢😭
ITS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN TEXAS
Aeraging Mach 3 speed..took around 6 hours crossing North American continent. AMAZING!
Add the time zone changes
I live in Cleburne TX totality 1:40-1:43 unfortunately it’s supposed to also be severe weather tornados hail the whole spectrum after the eclipse hoping to see it but it might be cloudy. Yes a total Solar Eclipse can enhance severe Weather in certain conditions
This is all I needed to see. Anytime there is an eclipse of any kind, I always miss it and I guess I will have to wait 20 years for the next one. Plus it’s a Monday and I am a teacher. I will be tired from working with 7th graders that whole day.
Creston, Ohio ready - pray for no clouds.
Light, wispy high altitude cirrus clouds should dissipate as totality develops.
Ill be on the shores of lake erie in my home state Ohio
Between waiting on iffy spring weather forecasts and the traffic situation to the rural area of New England, I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm sure campsites and hotels will all be full no matter what, and doing a 3-5 hour drive inland is a tough ask.
A three hour drive to witness one of the defining moments of your life seems a small price to pay.
I'll get 97% here in Grand Rapids Mi, good enough for me + no crowds!
97% looks good on paper, but I think there's a good-enough difference to make a decent trip and see it whole. Maybe pick a state park to visit too.
{next time, maybe}
Whitney TX! Totality center line, baby.
amazing
..its going right over my town in Missouri....:D
Last one in America for 20 years. Won't see a total somar eclipse again until 2044 in Montana.
The epicenter obviously is not in Nazas but closer to Bermejillo. I'm planning to climb one of the mountains around the village of Dinamita and watch 🌑 from 2000 meters
So there's a place in Arkansas called "De Queen", you go girl.
Lorain, OH!
Let's Gooooo!!! 🤗 🌚 🌞
Once we transition, we'll see better wonders of the universe. Enjoy the eclipse in Nova Scotia in case your flying out there.
nova Scotia won't see totality. Only the tippy north part of it will, unfortunately. Major cities like Halifax and Sydney will miss out, so I highly suggest traveling to New Brunswick instead!! Totality will cut right through there, and the experience under the shadow will be so much different!
Can’t believe I live in the moons shadows path. This will be sick
Why will it be sick? Is it because anybody who isn't careful will go blind because of the eclipse?
What is the difference between the time and duration of the totality?
