steelers got what the 1st pick of the second round for this? now the steelers got justin fields for a 6th round pick, and got russell wilson for one dollar. the way Khan did business lately, it kind of pales compare to what Poles did so far. I am more impressed with Holmes than Poles in the last 3 years. for me, its still work in progress, wait and see, to give him his blessing.

    Awesome interview.
We all know it’s Caleb and he showed his cards when he said 9 pick was the intriguing one. That’s because Caleb’s the clear #1. Has been for 3 years for me and I can’t believe the Bears 🐻 are getting him!

Have the GM of the team with the 1st overall pick in the NFL draft which is loaded on offensive prospects namely QB, receiver & tackle. If we could only read Ryan Poles minds. Obviously the Fields trade solidified them in choosing Caleb Williams which they had to do no matter what. It’s fascinating to get a glimpse of his thinking of regarding the draft even though he’ll remain tight lipped & pretty much say nothing.
This draft is going to be fascinating to watch it play out. The Commanders at 2 & Pats at 3 both need QBs but who they choose will dictate how the rest of Round 1 unfolds. Will one of them pull a shocker and take JJ MCCarthy over one of the other Tier 1 QBs? Also the choices at picks 2 & 3 will be a huge factor on whether another QB needy teams try to trade up into Top 5 or 6.
The Cardinals sit at 4 & due to teams 1-3 taking QBs it’s pushing the one of the top consensus best players in the draft WR Marvin Harrison Jr just sitting there at 4 for them. However a QB needy team like the Vikings or Broncos may trade to 4 to grab a QB which will be a costly trade but also continue to push top talent down the board. Teams would obviously prefer to trade for the 4th pick which will be a pricey trade over trading into pick 5 or 6 where another team could jump them. It’d be less expensive though. Do the Cards draft near can’t miss lock WR Marvin Harrison Jr who has NFL bloodlines or trade down for more picks? The draft is deep at receiver though.
The Chargers sit a 5 under new HC Jim Harbaugh. They traded away top receiver Keenan Allen & let #2 WR Mike Williams walk in free agency. They need a receiver but HC Harbaugh likes big Oline & they’d have the choice of any top tackle with all of then available here. Also freak tight end Brock Bowers who is considered pro ready & a George Kittle clone would do wonders for any offense. Do the Chargers take a WR, OT or TE Brock Bowers at 5, or trade down with a QB needy team & get more picks?
My Giants need a #1 WR which is our top need. QB Daniel Jokes deserves another year with an improved online & #1 receiver however he has injury questions. I’m not averse to taking a QB but even though JJ McCarthy is intriguing he presents a lot of risk. We need insurance behind Jones & having a potential franchise QB prospect learning under Jones improves Giants chances at QB. Daniel Jones could have a breakthrough year though as he knows his grasp on starters job is at risk. Giants need to help the offense & Jones by picking WE Malik Nabers or WR Rome Odunze. If QB Drake Maye somehow falls to pick 6 which would require no team ls trading up the Giants would have to consider picking Maye there even though a #1 WR is their biggest need & even though the draft is stacked at WR. If the Giants don’t take Nabers or Odunze & trade back instead I’d be ok with that as we’d be getting more draft capital & we could still get a good receiver later in Round 1.
Can’t wait for the draft which is going to be crazy most likely. We should see some blockbuster trades & some shocking picks most likely. The draft never goes according to how the mock drafts predict.
Excited to see how picks 1-5 go & miat importantly what Giants do at 6. Nabers or Odunze, QB or trade down? The Giants killed it in free agency & now we need GM Joe Schoen to crush this this. It can’t get here soon enough. Let’s Go Giants!👍🙂🤘

They could have drafted Bryce Young, Stroud, Richardson, Levis or Hooker. 80% chances of getting it wrong and be in the same position again. This draft is mcuh better. And Poles has secured himself at least 2 additional years as GM.

It would have been hard to evaluate Eberflus and the offensive staff then. Plus, the strong end to the season leaves us entering this offseason ascending with a chance to add Caleb Williams rather than declining and morale already suffering potentially. Several people have mentioned this so far, but the Bears are the best team to have the #1 overall pick in a long while. Despite the loss of value for Fields and the Claypool mess, Poles has done a heck of a job. Now it's time to put it all together.

It is heartbreaking, but Justin did not convince despite his improvement. With the global level of QB talent rising year after year, if you want to compete you have to find an exceptional QB. A good one is simply not good enough anymore. Look how struggling are playoff teams like the Steelers, Cowboys, Seattle, Miami with decent but not great QBs. As for the other teams, an average QB condemns you to irrelevance. Teams need to get that champ. If after 2 or 3 years your draftee hasn't convinced, move on.
