- As the Israel-Hamas conflict reaches a humanitarian pause, stories abound of the war-wounded children in Gaza who managed to survive. 7-year-old Omar lost both parents and his twin brother when his home was struck. Devastated by his loss, he tries to hold on to their memory the only way he knows how.
UNICEF Spokesperson James Elder said that the situation in Gaza is “dire,” with 1.5 million people having lost their homes, and hospitals filled with children in urgent need of care. He stressed the urgency for a ceasefire and the need for lasting peace.
