After you see Afro-caribbeans, Afro-Latinos, and Africans you cannot deny that we are one people. We could change the world if we only realized that and start living together in oneness. I look at those ladies preparing food and saw my grandma back in Jamaica. Only difference is the language
We're not one ppl. Are Japanese and Chinese one ppl? Did they come from the same Dynasty? No. They are on the same continent and are brethren, but they are different. They do not identify as "one ppl" and still understand the need to have a united front. We can be different (and are) and still unify without throwing false narratives around to to accomplish this.
@@diwi5823 Hello, actually the Han Chinese, Japanese and Koreans share one common ancestor tracing to the Shang Dynasty in Chinese history. The migration/break away of groups happened about 3,000-3,600 years ago. The genetic makeup of these groups differ by 1%, which I believe is the smallest percentage of any groups of any groups studied so far. So they are extremely close genetically speaking, though their cultures differ in this modern age , there are also some similarities. 50%-60% of Japanese and Korean languages come from Chinese. At one time Koreans wrote in Chinese characters. Koreans invented their system of writing around 1441.

The Garifuna are the descendants of indigenous Arawak, Kalinago (Island Carib), and Afro-Caribbean people. The founding population of the Central American diaspora, estimated at 2,500 to 5,000 persons, were transplanted to the Central American coast from the Commonwealth Caribbean island of Saint Vincent,[7] which was known to the Garinagu as Yurumein,[8] in the Windward Islands in the British West Indies in the Lesser Antilles. Small Garifuna communities still live in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Garifuna diaspora abroad includes communities in Honduras, in the United States, and in Belize.

@GUMMi THY XII It was an island with Native Americans who were exterminated by the English Europeans and populated with Africans. The Africans rebelled and were expelled to the Bay Islands. There they received asylum from the Spanish Europeans to settle the coast of Central America as long as they protected it from English incursions. That's history buddy.
@@xhorxheetxeberria-td1hu I think they know that they come from Africa, they’re just explaining where his/her people have settled for the last few centuries, buddy.
@Mr robot No buddy. See, you're not from Honduras. These people got the government to call them INDIGENOUS, which only applied to Native Americans and not Africans. Because they claimed to be Indigenous to America and nothing to do with Africa. And if you tell them they're African, they get mad. They say they're the Indigenous people of America and were here before 1492, even though history and archeology doesn't support that. So why did they ask to be called officially Indigenous? Because Indigenous lands and people are protected. They didn't have legal ownership of the lands they lived on since the late 1700's. And foreign corporations wanted those lands for hotels and resorts along the Caribbean sea coast of Honduras. They weren't going to get a cut. Now they will by being designated Indigenous people even though they aren't really Indigenous to America. If you aren't informed, don't comment.
Great video I'm from St.Vincent where we have the Garifuna culture going strong also I'm proud of my people i hope one day Garifunas from all over the world would meet to experience something like this. Thank you Ace❤

The language and culture is also found in ST. VINCENT in the Caribbean and NEW ORLEANS. So interesting and the festival was a VIBE🎉
One of the reasons that we love you is that you stand for all cultures, especially African. You give people around the world the different aspects of worldwide culture they need to understand and appreciate, and know to the fullest. Much love, respect and honor to you Ace!

Bro if you make it to Belize I can put you in touch with my dad he is a linguist and anthropologist. He can give you a bit of Garifuna History. Also the President of National Garifuna Council in Belize is a personal friend of mine
I'm from Honduras and I'm happy that you are here learning about my Carib(Garifuna) culture
Clearly African is the default of all.

@vonindigenous9722 We are not Americans Our ancestors arrived on the island of St. Vincent in 1632, that is, 142 years before the United States declared its independence, practically the English were just beginning to colonize the United States. 😅
That gifiti is like " Agbo" in Youruba language. Folks still drink stuff like that in many parts of Africa today. It probably just contains different types of herbs It's very common in Nigeria, South Africa
As a student at Columbia University, I'm currently enrolled in an Endangered Language Linguistics course where I'm required to conduct a research paper. Your insights on how Diaspora impacts communities were incredibly enlightening. Additionally, being of Honduran descent, I've never had the opportunity to visit the country, making this exploration of the culture even more meaningful. Thank you for sharing such valuable knowledge!
Hi Ace, I learn so much from your shows. I am African - Ghanaian to be precise. You don't have to go to Africa if you choose to explore the African diaspora outside Africa. Other UA-cam do that. I find the entire diaspora exciting both on the continent and around the rest of the world. Such beautiful African cultures all around the world ❤ 😊

Ancestral land? They are from Africa. That's their Ancestral land. They barely spent anytime on Saint Vincent.
@@xhorxheetxeberria-td1hu What are u talking about with st Vincent there would be no garifuna
This one almost made me tear up, it's been so long since I've been back and miss it. Thanks Ace
Just to say thanks to share an Amazing document from Honduras.😍

So... you’re just going to throw their indigenous ancestry away to fit your narrative ? 🤔 you’re just a disrespectful person.
Their language is an Arawak tongue. That's pretty awesome that's it's being preserved all this time after over 100 years of invasion from French and British.
