When I run across golf cart batteries that have had the terminals melted off, I drill and tap a new 5/16 hole for a bolt in the terminal exactly into the post where the date stamp is and bolt the cable down, It has worked great on dozens of cases with no shortening of the battery life except in severe cases of terminal melt. I worked at 6 different golf courses as a golf cart manager, with EZGO gas and electric carts, Yamaha, Taylor - Dunn, Club Car, Westinghouse and Cushman golf cart fleets
If you is interested in battery reconditioning the best success that I have had was with the Magic Mender Wizard (just google it) definately the no.1 course that I have ever tried.
