  • I made a video of installing the new Pegas chuck heads for my DeWalt dw788 saw back in April. I will be making a follow up video on how they work. Below I will have a link to Steve Good's analysis on the less vibrations and technical info from his experience as a scroll sawyer much longer than I. Also when you visit Bear Woods spend 35.00 or more you can use the code MiterMike and get 5% off.

    I have to get the one that fits my scroll saw. I guess the only time one has to worry is when a blade breaks, I wonder if that's an easy thing to connect on the bottom? Thanks Miter....

    Hi Mike, I see this video a year old I’ve tried finding this one for the DeWalt but doesn’t appear to be making the one with the tensioning arm, remember where you purchased it from? Thanks, and stay Healthy

      if you are talking about the chuck heads? i got from bear woods bit.ly/chuckhead if you are talking about the arm to hold up i got it from Hector, but currently he is not making any. If you have any engineering background you could make one.....let me know if i can help. we are staying safe. thanks for watching.

    Good video Mike. Will you be doing a follow-up video in a month or so to let us know your thoughts on this mod?

    Hey Mike I see that you are using the Pegasus choke head with the tension lever where did you purchase that? I can’t find one with the tension lever? For a Dewalt scroll saw

    Nice review Mike. After using it for a while did you have any problems with the set screw slipping?

    • @Mitermikeswoodshop
      @Mitermikeswoodshop  6 років тому +1

      Once I set the screws it never moved. Blade slippage sometimes happens because of the oils that are on the blades, I just sand the top of them lightly and no issues...

    Is this an improvement over the Dewalt System ?

    • @Mitermikeswoodshop
      @Mitermikeswoodshop  4 роки тому

      Yes, it made a great difference in the clamping of the blade and using the tension.

    Would it be better to use the Pegasus blade holders without the tension lever up front on the Dewalt 788? The normal lever is right there anyway.

      thanks for watching. i only use the tensioner on the Pegas head. if i am cutting for a while and the blade starts to stretch i can use the dewalt tensioner to 1 and make it taught again finish my cut and then normal everything for the next hole. it also is easier on my wrist and forearm not using the dewalt tensioner.
