Hi love Hetty looks very nice and well done you can finely go off in her and have a nice time i love the colour of her inside love ya and well done to finishing her after the long 8 months xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Aw Carol Ann, I am sure you will be totally fine! You are so organised! We just came back from doing Christmas eve until 2nd January in our old VW T2 and all we had was a hot water bottle and a £14.99 plug in fan heater and we were fine! One day we did have ice on the inside windows lol, but the internal thermal blinds we invested in last year saved us from feeling cold, it was just a shock waiting for them to defrost before we could remove them lol. Safe travels and look forward to following your next adventure! All the very best for the new year, Andrea Kev and Dusty the campervan! :-) x
Hi Carol Ann, Nice motorhome, I hope you enjoy it. Just to plant a seed of a thought into your mind, if you run your large oil radiator in your motorhome while on hookup at a campsite and thee are a number of others doiing the same, you will likely overwhelm the sites supply. The majority of hookups are limited to anywhere between 6 and 16 amps to each hookup location, precisely for this reason. Lets assume for a momennt you end up on a hookup of 10 Amps, that means you have a total of 2,400 watts. If your oil radiator is 3000 watts, you will have already overwhelmed the sites hookup with only that one device. The calculation is to find out the amperage of the hookup and mutiply it by the voltage of 240 volts. This will tell you straight away how many watts you have available in total. Take care and have fun. Peter. x
Hi Peter, thanks for that 😊. Rest assured though it's only a 1.5 watt and I have it set on the thermostat so it's not on continually. If I put the kettle on I turn the rad off or it trips my switch. Still nice to have it though as I think I would have been freezing these past couple of days 🙈😂
Hi Carol Netty is looking wonderful and the screw driver is known as a chubby screw driver. Joiners saying .. You could do with a clip to hold back the door curtain so as not in the way when going in and out and to keep it from closing while you drive, just thought a tip for you, But your very handy at the D.I.Y. so i am sure you be able to sort it v should you wish, i do know what type of clip would do you fix on with two small screws to your side wall, i have seen them. Any way have a lovely time and safe trip, Take care xxx
You commented prematurely lol 😆 To be honest I've clipped it out of the way for getting in and out. You honestly can't see the road behind through the rear view mirror and the door. Its a bit pointless really 😆
Hi Carol Ann, I hope you are well. I literally came across your channel by a sheer fluke yesterday as it popped up on my feed. I thought i'd give you a little watch and i'm SO glad i did. You are living my dream in Hetty. What a lovely cosy home on wheels you have. I also really appreciate your up beat friendly and bubbly nature. You are so easy to watch and i'm already hooked. I'm very much looking forward to following your adventurers in Hetty this year. Anyway have a great holiday and take care on the roads in this winter weather.
Enjoy your first cold night away, In my last MH it had an in built heating system, with a conventional gas heater but also gas powered blown air heating which was brilliant for over night use.
Just found you, a youtube 'suggestion'! I feel sad watching as I had a 70s Ford Auto-Sleeper which got stolen in the 90s and the insurance company wrote it off even though it was the inside that was damaged, I'll never understand that, I couldn't even buy it back. It's so long ago I don't know why it all happened but I lost the best campervan I'd ever had, it was the same layout as yours, I cried my heart out. I had 3 more after that, a small vintage Bedford which got vandalised & again I had to scrap it, more heartbreak, another Ford (unfinished) which I never used & sold on (I had a tiny baby at the time & always been single) and an 80s Honda Acty Romahome, which was utterly freezing! Ironically now I'm a pensioner & my house has to be sold I'm probably going to end up living in one! I will watch all your back catalogue with interest, I have kept my 70s caravan that I bought when I could no longer afford a van, a German Knaus, big & heavy but I love it. I need to put it somewhere & leave it as I can no longer manage it myself.
Good for you. I too love bargain buys. Sample wallpaper idea was ace btw. Have you got snow tyres on your MH. ? If not, do be very careful driving across east and back over the next week Carol . Enjoy your winter holiday and look forward to your vlogs as always Gray.
Great video Carol. Netty is looking fantastic. Hope you have a wonderful trip (and that the weather isn't too bad|) and looking forward to your next videos ♥♥
Wow you have made a wonderful job get away and enjoy yourself, hope you don't, but when you come back if you have had any roof leaks, buy a tin of acropole paint or roller the roof it will never leak again , ❤
@carol_ann_living.in.the.moment nice 1 Carolanne it's should keep you dry especially in this weather, love the way you have set it up, I'm going to give it a try in my car with me little doggy 🐕 soon don't now how it will go, last time was about 30 years ago at the bottom of Lanberis car park 😀 enjoy your travels to 😃👍
Great work with Netty as always Carol 👏 and I'm sure all your prep will pay off 🙏 Love Molly's little sleeping bag...will be lovely to see how she gets on with that 😁 I hope the weather is as kind as it can be for you and Evie-Rose and have a safe and wonderful adventure Carol 🤗 🤗
@MartinG-e7b Thanks Martin, even if the weather isn't great I'm sure I'll still have lots of fun 😀. I'm well prepared with lots of layers and warm clothes 🙌
Wished i lived closer to you to help you out with your diy jobs and with no gorilla tape involved at all,i don't do bodge jobs i just do it right once, and it bet i could sort your leaks out and your sky light out to, because all you need for the sky light is a replacement rubber seal which is easy to replace on your big self 👍
"Wet Patch" 🤣 Hooray for electric blankets - I've just bought my first ever and its amazing! That little screwdriver is so cute - I often win tiny screwdrivers in Christmas crackers. The curtain was cute too, good choice with the scalloped edging. I like "granny theme" - my kids say I have "nanny style". Typical of a knob - always causing trouble. I thought they were carpet samples where the cork is - there's an idea for you if you wanted something a bit more plush. I'm always using free samples of stuff in my DIY! You will need a holiday after all that work on the van! Have a fab time! xx
@EmmaLemonn Getting into bed knowing it's going to be all toasty is the best thing ever isn't it...well almost 😂. I've had a few of those cracker screwdrivers but they just lose their points or maybe it's just be screwing to hard 😳😀. I'll let you know when I'm planning a trip to Norfolk 😊
Netty looks beautiful 😍, very cosy. Youve done an excellent job with her and without spending a small fortune.! Agree, you've made best choice with Barnaby until he's fully recovered. He will make you feel bad for leaving him behind when you return 😂😂. Molly with her own sleeping bag ❤😂. Look forward to your next video when you arrive at your destination. Stay safe on roads 😊.
Hi, I've just found your channel, I also have a Retro Van, it's a Talbot Express Talisman. I've had A lot of work done Aswell, These Old Vans Need a lot of Care & Attention.😅. Safe travels. & Maybe Meet up on a site sometime. I'm in The North East Near Durham. Cheers from Jeff.
4 years and it will become a historic vehicle,Tax and MOT exempt obviously will have to be kept road worthy. An appreciating classic. Also classic insurance could be a benefit.
@colinlakin If i still have it then I'd still have it MOTd every year...purely from a safety point of view. I've never quite understood why classics are exempt 🤔. Tax free would be a massive benefit though 😀
If you take it to a good mechanic they should be able to advise you what needs doing to maintain road safety for your peace of mind but MOT stations are not usually mechanics they are people trained to carry out MOT’s so a 40 year old vehicle doesn’t get any sympathy . A lot of older vehicles are owned by enthusiasts that know a lot about them and can repair them or are willing to pay lots of money to someone that can . Have a lovely holiday I look forward to see your next video.
