Continued in-depth recording of Battle Creek's history as evidenced in Oak Hill Cemetery. I particularly enjoyed, too, the musical background. Several times it reminded me of the way Ken Burns uses music behind his historical narratives. I eagerly await the next "chapter."
Enjoyed very much as a former 40 year resident myself, our family managed and operated the Memorial Park Cemetery (David L. Wermer, Kathleen E. Wermer, my brother David N. Wermer and myself Matthew W. Wermer}. My parents and brother are now buried on section L "The Garden of Love" I believe. We were always so proud of our cemetery, Dad had the privilege of being elected President of the Michigan Cemetery Association, my mother Kathleen operated the office at the Cemetery front entrance and she's process lot sales, monument and marker sales, payroll for us workers, we were great friends and fond of the area Funeral Homes like Dick Henry, Farley-Estes, Hebble, Royal, Perry, and others, also the Brutsche & Wilbert Vault Companies and Patton Monument, the Gibralter Mausoleum Company built the Chapel Mausoleum we enjoyed utilizing, my brother and I personally worked there through our teenage and adult years, after my parents 30+ years employed there and retired, my brother David took over as new manager of grounds and funeral operations, Banker, Jim Talbot became office and business manager. My most vivid memories include the burials of a Kellogg relative in the John H. Kellogg mausoleum, it was a all Copper casket that we inserted, also the burial of Bill Bedford of "Bedford's Auto Body" daughter. Both my parents Dave & Kay Wermer passed away in 2001 & 2002 from unforeseen illnesses and brother David in 2010. Myself and sisters Kristin and Jillene are still living happy lives in BC, Seattle, WA and Matt in Tennessee. I hope you can offer at video presentation about Memorial Park Cemetery some day. Thanks again, Matthew Wermer
That is a big cemetery, and I am sure there are a lot of stories to tell. At some point, I plan to do something on that one too. Thanks for sharing your memories.
By the way, in 1986, I fell for a girl from Rives Junction via the Journey Fan Club. (Journey was my favorite band in high school ) I flew out to Detroit from the SF Bay Area. I’ve been to Jackson, Ypsilanti, Lancing and of course Detroit. She flew out to see me in 1987. Long distance relationships rarely workout. But to this day we are still friends. She is in Pleasant Lake and I now live in Yakima Wa.
I’ve watched other videos you posted a while back. But honestly it was hard to keep watching that particular video because it was very violent and bloody about a guy who slit his own throat. Too much for me! 🤢 Then I saw another video that also contained some devastating violence but much more tolerable. You do an OUTSTANDING job telling these stories of real people who are now long gone. Life is a precious thing and their stories are fascinating. I’m very impressed with your knowledge about them and will stay tuned -in to hear and see more of your videos.
Thank you so much! It is so interesting to learn local history from a different source.

Yes, that story was awful. Probably one of the ugliest ones I have done.
Another great video! I want to make sure I have seen all your videos. Could you please advise the titles of each of the videos you have done?
Curt here is the playlist for the Battle Creek History videos I have made so far. ua-cam.com/play/PL46AUZ1pUqbhJDVOJhTyhNmub7RlJ9Yk6.html
