Thank you this was a brilliant side by side comparison. Totally sold me on the ArtGrafs! The Derwents certainly have granulation in their favor but the ArtGrafs are winners in terms of pigment
I'm playing around with my Art Grafs this week, so I'm looking up old videos on them. They do seem a lot like inktense to me, but the difference here is clear. Anyway, they are indeed very opaque, although they also wash out quickly. Fun tip: try them on black paper. I've been using them to paint animals on black paper, and they work great that way
I had wanted these for a while but the cost was a worry, but when you see the quality, they are definitely worth it. So thankyou for sharing this, the colours look stunning. I'll have to get their graphite block too, not so bothered about the bright coloured ones though. I was quite surprised by how the Derwent products appeared in comparison, as this has always been one of my most used brands. I had only seen people use these as chalk, I didn't even know they could be wet. I have to have these now as sanguine is my favourite, I want the new pallette from Derwent with the graphite and terracotta shades of paint, so these will go together beautifully.
I just bought them and LOVE them. Yes they can be opaque like gouache or waterered down. Also I love the cork container b/c if you are taking them out doors they are easy to bring with you. I was VERY happily surprised.
I've had my eye on the artgraf ones for a few years now and just ordered the derwent xl sticks and a few inktense sticks from cultpens to try out last night, I might need to finally pull the trigger on the artgrafs or tell people I want those for christmas this year and just live out my best water media dreams in 2022.
Wow what beautiful colors. I have the intense pencils and love them but getting into watercolours now and am wondering if I should have bought the intense blocks instead as pencils are a lot of work but these Art Graph blocks look amazing. Would love to hear opinions on this. Thank u for that demo. Enjoyed it. Love hearing about new products. At least new to me. Lol
I just purchased these because one of my pastel artist had used it for her under painting. I think that I will lightly draw out some trees then spray with water and let it run. Looks like this Art Graf is worth the price.
Wow those pack a punch, I wasn't expecting that! Interesting. The inktense blocks seem to bright and opaque on their own but next to those look more watercolor ish. I might have to keep my eye for a sale on those. I would be interested to see if the bright color set you showed would actually mix good secondary's.

This was a great review. Thank you. I am an Inktense fan also, but these look amazing.

I'm glad!! I really would like them to expand the line now. I see they have a green one.

Gorgeous!
Fascinating to see how concentrated they are. Lovely manicure BTW. Please make a video with the bright ones. You will get the green color then.
Love your Royals cup. Great video!
