I felt your confidence as you headed to Tulare this weekend. I felt your determination. You are not the first driver to crash in qualifying. It stinks. My words won't lessen your disappointment but don't lose your determination and aggressiveness on the track.
This scenario here is why your 1 of my favorite drivers! You remain humble, no matter what happens & usually find something good out of a bad situation!
The lows, will always make the highs that much sweeter!
Glad you're OK young man. Get the raceway fixed up, and get back after it!
Racecar. Edit your slop!
what i always tell my son and remind myself is there is not one racer that ever raced any length of time that dosent experience every crazy thing that can happen and i mean everything, as i follow you i relate to every single scenario that you go through and it usually reminds of a story! good and bad so take solace in the fact we all have been there as racers and you know what? its not gonna change much! lol because no matter how good you do you'll just wanna do better! lol So keep on plugging away kiddo and the good will out weigh the bad and just remind yourself how lucky you are to even be a racer Next race take time to look around and think how many people would love to be where your at even at the lowest points!
Glad you're ok mate , lucky your car protected you from harm , 18t is repairable and you will have it fixed in no time , keep up the great attitude and get back in to it , like you said that's history , tomorrows another day . Looking forward to your next race cheers to you and family Aussie Pete
Well said Tanner, you know that my team knows this situation well and all you can do is repair your chassis and keep Racing. Your going to be fine get up and brush yourself off! And go!!!!
Tanner you have every reason to brag about your parents for raising such a fine group of kids and supporting all of your dreams. You're a great driver with a bright future so don't ever forget that. Never ever give up on your dream because I know you're going to go places. That was a pretty good hit and I'm so glad you're okay! Now get back to work and get that car ready for the next battle! 👍😁❤
I got a racer friend from my town. He's going through the lows of racing currently.
Just Friday, he finished 3rd in his heat. He would've started 3rd in his feature. But while trying to pull out the his pit stall, his suspension broke. He got it fixed, but by the time he was about to come out to the track, the green flag dropped. So, he had to go to his pit area, and was done.
It's just frustrating! Like you said, every racer has those streaks.
Your folks are a great example I’m sure they have been through more ups & downs that you can imagine and if they weren’t a team positively drivin with success being the goal we likely wouldn’t be enjoying this great content , in the same way your subscribers ride the same roller coaster also , very concerning listening to the track safety EMT ask your questions that lets your subscribers know how potentially life threatening it can be as a driver most of us have never experienced the impact Inertia of hitting a wall sideways at 80 to 100 mph and even with the modern safety restraints in place bad outcomes still happen .
This one will be with you for your career and in a positive way, better to start near the back than not start at all ? Check that one off the list and move forward !
You got this ..
Super proud of you and the way you talk about your account to your attitude, have a great work ethic and I hope you are able to eventually come to Ohio, Indiana, and PA for real good wing racing with a ton of different tracks just in any of those places. Very exciting for me to be able to watch you guys getting better. Go-karts were all my family could afford and my sprint car laps weren't a lot, but I have been around for a long time and you keep that work attitude, you will be rewarded!
Appreciate the kind words Guy!
Tanner , you are describing life! Ups and downs. Lows and highs. Yes it is racing. The reality is it's just like life. I feel your pain. I can hear it in your voice. Your honesty in sharing your thoughts , emotions , and feelings , is refreshing. Your insight into "cars are replaceable" is wise beyond your years. I said it before and I'll tell you again. You belong. You can and are doing this. I see nothing to make me believe otherwise. I was big into the sprint car scene in the 80's , 90's ,and early 2000's. Saw a lot of races all up and down the state of CA. Made some trips to the PNW to visit Skagit. Both winged and non winged(my favorite) It takes time to hone your craft. That is what it is.Saw a ton of torn up race cars too.Over TIME saw some drivers develop that turned out to be pretty darn great at their chosen craft. That rare phenom that just gets in anything and just is head and shoulders above everyone else is just that , Rare. Keep your expectation on an even keel. Give yourself time to figure this out. Yes, tearing up equipment sucks. If it didn't you wouldn't be HALF the race car driver you are today. One of these days I'll find the right track and venture out and see you race in person. I'll come find you in the pits. Shake your hand ,your dads ,mom's and Carly's too. You got a great head on your shoulders. Keep the faith and keep on keepin' on!
i am glad to hear that you are ok!!!!! You got this bud, you do a great job out there on the track. the good lord was with you and it could have been a lot worse. don't beat yourself up bud, Keep on pushing forward and keep thinking positive. I know how you feel at your age i have been there and i kept telling myself you gotta keep going things will get better. That what i did and things did get better.
You have a great attitude 👍 the safety safari, he was great. Asked all the right questions. Be safe and drive hard!
I feel for you Tanner. But hey the clock got a battery!
That gofundme worked!
Yes but is it on the correct time
I think the rework on the track after your wreck says it all. That track setup wasn’t right for qualifying. Glad you’re ok and you know there’s a lot of us out here rooting for you. Go get ‘em next week!
"Glad". Edit your slop
@@sidebite2533 You missed one
Thanks grammar police.. jerk
Well said Tanner, mature beyond your age. Wonderful family. Reworking the track after your incident says it all. Tough deal all they way around, drawing a low number for qualifying isn't always the best. Glad you have top notch safety equipment and you are OK. The car can be repaired or replaced if necessary. Work hard and get back on a track. You have a huge fan base behind you. PMA Positive Mental Attitude!
Thank you for that little life talk. I also feel like I wanna quit racing sometimes but then you realize why your doing it. And for every racer it is their life. But I’m glad your good and I hope you’ll be back at the track next week!
Tanner feel for you. Not the first to crash in hot laps or qualify, glad you are ok & we see the hard work nature in all of your family
i'm glad you're ok! got some bad luck, but that's racing! this is an awesome channel!
Hang in there Tanner. I built a ca for my friend Supermodified that ran at San Jose. We were racing it for the their weekend and he came off turn 2 and half way down the back straight got turned into the outside wall. It moved the entire right side of the frame 3/4 back. One scary crash. I got the chassis back together and two weeks later we were racing that car again. We won that race. I say this not to brag but to let you know don't let it get you down. We were really bummed out. We had crashed our new car big time and had to pull out the old car to race the next weekend. It is hard not to be down. All the hard work just to get ready to go to the race. Then all it takes to drive to a race that is many miles away. Than all the work to set up at the track. All of those dreams for the race the excitement of race day. Just being so happy to be racing. Wanting to put on a good show. Then it all come down and is all over and not even getting a chance to race. I have been there , A few times thankfully only a few times. But I do know how I crappy it feels. So lick your wounds and know this will make the next good night at the track feel that much better. Keep up the great videos and we will all enjoy the next race together.
Been there done that. Doing hot laps and going around the bottom end, and the car washed up towards the wall, i thought that I have got this and then I hit the wall with the front side, and then it kicked back and hit the wall with the back corner of the car. The car was in the modified production class in Australia. This was my last race meeting, 30 years ago. The chassis was bent up, we straightened it and then I sold everything. My wife at the time was pregnant and I couldnt afford to race with only one income. I still have my race suit, just in case.
We Your Fans are NOT going anywhere!!!! We stick with our team 18t through thick & thin!!!!! We all love ya Tanner.
Remember, it could always be worse. 👍
So glad you are ok , everything else is replaceable !!! Keep moving forward always !!! GOD BLESS !!!
Keep your head up . You have tons of support . Your family is behind you.. Better days are ahead
Tanner, nothing good is easy and you are just experiencing stuff happening. Your parents are right, dig in and push forward. This is just part of the journey. I'm a big 74 year old fan who thoroughly enjoys watching what you are doing.
tanner I watching you over the years and growing up but your trooper just keep on racing and doing your thing you're awesome dude
Glad your not hurt, great attitude, yes your parents and team are awesome
Glad to hear your ok. Good luck next weekend.
All the best young man 🙂 bounce back be strong
Glad you are OK the track was bad. Proud of you and your family
Yup..did the same but I got my first lap in then hit the wall.. 10th fast time!!! But glad to see your ok!!
RACE ON TANNER Love that your family are RACERS !! Reading tracks can be difficult but you have experience at Tulare, especially turn one. Hindsight must have a better plan of attack, it is a fight between man, machine, time, and the elements, one weakness limits your chances of success. Keep on Racing, record your settings, conditions, locations and never stop learning and achieving success.
A question for your Dad, can Carly run her car on the Cali. Tour, think she also has a great future, she likes to hang it out alittle more than Tanner, lol. Can you afford to run and transport both?
Love your passion and mindsets.
Glad you are ok just a string of bad luck hopefully it’s all out of the way for the rest of the season keep it rolling live to race another day
You will get thru this hey.. there is going to be a weekend where is going to be like you did or have a great race.. keep your head up and you will be ok again .
did that same thing at Calistoga except I did`nt hit the wall like you did.very helpless feeling glad your ok
Sorry that happened Tanner, you've come such a long way in a very short time. Just put your head down and keep digging. Everything will be just fine. I'm still rootin for you and the Family. Blessings
Keep digging! I think your having a tough stretch and will continue to improve.
Sorry that happened to u dude, your right it is a low moment. But take this moment or that moment I should say and learn from it bro! It’s racing, not every track is gonna be how we want or where we need it to be. But that’s what makes race car drivers what we are we over come and we adapt! Head up and drive forward buddy!!
Looked like you had a very hard hit. It is good to see that the safety systems worked . At least you have the right mindset and will bounce back harder and better than ever.
So very glad your ok tanner just remember cars can be replaced and u can't be safety is always number one
Glad you're okay Tanner. That was a scary hit.
1:45 This actually happened, I fainted due to dehydration at a Race once and this is what they did, It’s good!
sorry to see that you tore up your race car, glad you're ok. you still my favorite driver if you never win another race. good luck next week
We are very glad you are ok!!! Your
Silver Dollar fans from Magalia/ Paradise, CA.
Good track crue
We are all glad your ok you can always weld, bend and cut metal to get the car going. That track was not set up for time trials yet. Stay safe.
That's a heartbreaker tanner and a tough lesson to learn but I'm sure you will not do that again ..lesson learned from school of hard knocks.. you came outa that ok is the main thing .. you got a lot of next times that won't happen .. just shrug this one 📴 and remember this track bites back , that was a hard hit. Watch out for those first qualifying laps and go for it on the second time around that will eliminate any kind of blunder...I've never seen you make many mistakes but everybody makes one .. it's more about the second one... thankful it didn't end up worse .. I'm positive you won't let that happen again. That's why you have a good head on your shoulder .. it was only a little scrape on prides door..
When you try hard sometimes things go wrong. It's obvious you always try hard. Keep at it, tomorrow is another day and/or race.
Yeah I'm glad ur alright that's the main thing.good luck on ur next one sorry that happened to you hold ur head up and stay strong
You could hear when you hit the steel wall. I saw when they rolled you back over and it looked like spaghetti. Tulare is my favorite track to visit. In 2019 Trophy Cup D J Netto went through 5 of 6 wings in 3 nights. DJ has a lot of experience at Tulare and lt bit him. Best of luck in the future. I will meet you somewhere up or down the State.
Brag on your parents every time you can. They are a great big part of the reason you are where you are.
Seen a horrendous modified over the wall crash this weekend, because the track was not right for racing from the rain, they need to start making sure these tracks are safe before rolling the cars out.
Glad you're ok. Chin up
I'm glad that you are ok after that hit
🐐
at least you have saved some tyres
you will never make that mistake again Tanner. they call that experience my friend.
You will be in the winner circle soon, this to shall pass Victory ✌️
I did that yesterday on Tony Stewart all American racing
are you going to repair or replace the chassis? another munted front axle, how was the diff?
those darn walls they never move darn
Man that just looked weird. I really would have thought the right side of the car would have dug in a bit and slowed you more and soften the blow but damn that was a lick.
Yeah it was definitely an odd accident.
It’s the love of the game that keeps us going !! Respect n appreciate your comments TH !!
Thank you👍🏻
Looked like you slid a country mile! Wish you had better luck but keep digging you will get there.
Tanner are you going to be racing with the world of outlaws nos energy drink sprint cars this year
This is real, but you and your team have the right spirit to come out of this stronger.
Wow looks like the car just snapped lose and slid in turn one and slammed the wall hard glad your ok
Keep diggin kiddo
You have great parents, they have led by example. You will get the car repaired and give it hell again. That’s racing.
Man this stinks it kinda seems like if you didn’t have bad luck you wouldn’t have any luck at all. Really excited to see you get everything repaired and see you get back to the track and ripping
Also glad to see you’re always so positive no matter what is going on with your career
Just part or the sport we all love, we have all done it and it will just make you that much better bud glad you are ok you know other than beating yourself up a little, shake it off and back up on the wheel just like I know you will.
sorry that happened to you glad you’re okay
Tanner, if you take tonight as the lowest point of the season, you have no where to go but up. Next thing to do is make up for the low and WIN next weekend, show the fates or fortunes or what every you may want to call them that you're not going to take any more and turn your season around to the best of your career so far. God Bless and stay safe.
Very true!
1st. Keep pushing. You will get there.
thats a tough break, but you cant help the track conditions, you will have those nights as long as you are safe and in one piece, cars can be replaced humans can not, racing is a tough expensive sport, keep your chin up and try to make better of the situation.
Tough break. That thing just kept sliding.
I enjoy watching these vids of yours because the hardest worker in your pit crew has long blonde hair. Carley is always on the move around the pits.
Sorry to see that but your not hurt, that's what matters. Rebuild, be back better
Glad your ok after a hard life lesson from the racing school of hard knocks.
👍
TUFF BREAK TANNER THERE ARE MANY SPORTS RACING IS A WAY OF LIFE AND THERE WILL BE LOWS TO SWEETEN THE HIGHS THAT ARE SURE TO COME YOUR WAY WHEN I MET YOU AT STOCKTON I TOLD YOU NO ONE BRING THIS SPORT TO THE FANS QUITE LIKE YOU LOOK AT THIS VID SEE YOUR TEAM IN ACTION KNOW YOU ARE LOVED REST IF YOU MUST BUT DONT QUIT WE WILL MEET AGAIN JUST GLAD YOUR OK //HAMMER DOWN BABY HAMMER DOWN
"i stepped on my peter". it happens
Racing is a major challenge. Similar to being a Christian we are tested when we are testes it makes us stronger. Your Dad must be a champ followed by a strong Mom or vice versa. Hit it hard
Very good comparison!
S*** happens. Keep looking forward.
Dam that's a shame at least your not hurt, chin up live to fight another day.
"Omg hey Tanner Holmes video 😁" 2 minutes into the video 😭
You should go to salmon Idaho
It's disappointing to crash anytime but as someone told me long ago i would rather fail trying then not trying at all
I hurt 4 engines in one season.. feel your pain.. now time to move on.. get the wrenches out..
No racING ON a full-oMOON PERIOD !!!
No back up car?
are you going to try ohio speedweeks again?
Tanner 1st of all glad your ok and yes you may have made a mistake but that track was garbage. It was not ready to race on. They pretty much admitted it when After your accident they went and reworked the track. 2nd Keep your head held hi. There's alot of us out here that need you to get past this and come back stronger than ever. You got this little buddy.
You have many other cars, don't you bring a backup car with you?
I’m so sorry
Racecar backwards is Racecar. Racecar upside down is expensive 😬😬
All these moments are just going to make that win feel even better cheering you on from the east coast
Yikes , when you hit hard enough to throw the car back in the middle of the track , hug your seat for the head protection it gave you and body protection . That is the hard's side lick i have seen in while . I'am happy that you are okay . Will the drive line is pretty much seen it's day and right side wheels i would take the car back to the MFG. to put no the jig it may be bent more than it looks ..........This won't be the last time you will woad one up ............lol......................
It started to push DAD ?
Racing is getting expensive for the 18T.
Been there. You find yourself worrying about budget, skills and purpose. Sort it out. Good luck.
