rob peters yeah but it’s alive and protected against poachers who like nothing better to do than kill the moms a steal the babies for sale to tourist. I agree I would love to see them in the forest and living free but like I said they are alive and well.
This baby is eating the paint off of the metal pole that is shown in each of these videos. If you look where it chews on it the paint is now red. No matter the type of paint or metal covering it isn’t good for them. Also in the wild they have tons of cover from the sun. The canopy of the trees provide shade and cover for protection from the sun. Where is their protection? They just have them baking in the hot hot 🌞 sun. Please please ask for some protection from the sun for them because I have witnessed the mom trying to find shade behind these metal poles and dragging her baby with her. All it would take is some thin poles that will mimic the tops that are flimsy and won’t support their weight and they won’t attempt to climb to the top too the cover and they have canvas covers that are sufficient for some shade that way they have protection from the sun and the heat. I know we all have touched metal poles that are sitting in the sun and witnessed how hot it gets. So this is all that is provided for them that and hot rubber. Why not ropes lots of ropes that don’t get hot ? I have one better how about actual 🌲 trees if people want to see them then it should be in a mimic of their real true environment. I don’t care if they have to take a few minutes to find them to watch them. If you are there enough to always film them then your there to speak up for them. I feel you love them because you spend time watching and filming them so please be their advocate for better and safer living. Thank you for listening to my concerns.
Non wild Orangutans love other creatures as well, especially babies. They will babysit and play with gibbons and chimps and dogs, even tigers which are one of their predators in the wild lol Orangutans and Gorilla mothers will bond over babies with human mothers. It's amazing to see how much empathy they have toward others not of their kind, in the wild they don't get that opportunity likewe do unfortunately.
