I think it’s best to donate old clothes to sozialkaufhaus, they are second hand stores run by the local council and your clothes go directly to people who need them and not corporations behind this clothes donation metal box thing. Some sozialkaufhaus (depending on what they are called at your location) even have some reward system where you get to pick things for what you donated. Just a tip.
