Moonfleet41 a side car no way will defo be investing in some luggage for next long run and some waterproofs for mrs cueball lol thanks for great weekend ride safe
great place, a lot of nice metal to look at both inside and out. was last there a few years back now, tirelessly trying to explain to my very English (ex) girlfriend the importance of the Hizzy bike to me... anyway, good video Del, thanks for posting it up.
DukeDyson Yeah, like Arkwright used to say, 'a funny ol' day'... seemed to be over in a flash and as usually never really felt like we had long enough... a sunny hot day would have seen the place packed out till tea time, but people were leaving as early as 11.30... but good to get round the museum again, same ol' exhibits, just shunted round on to different stages... and I can't believe that poxy Top Gear tent is still there lol !
After a mental weekend it was a lovely chill watching this amazing display of machinery..There was a minature version of the Beulieu museum in Ramsgate when i was about 11 or so..Used to go every weekend...Met Lord Montague there (well thats who he said he was?) Probably some geezer paid a couple of bob to dress up as him...Nice vid cheers xxxx
springy 2112 Ha ha, did he have a quiff and sideys..! probably not the real bloke....but there is a suspect lookin' Mk1 Capri in the display these days...so you never know... still humming the racks and shelves of my own sweet self self self...lol Cheers buddy..got the link in for the new site...hope it brings a few hits and downloads for yerz... let me know if it picks up, ill post a link each time from now..
Wow. An amazing place. Obviously there are advantages to having a large population. While the museum pieces were great I loved the collection that was ridden there. Great to see some "old school " Triumphs and I was especially tickled by the 'Guzzie trike, lol.
***** Yeah, something like that... there's certainly too many cars on the road now! Doing the statistics, there were 10million people less here when we were kids... but I guess yours is the result of a government who won't let anyone in! Same as Australia... although America is not that different, they don't like letting anyone in, but there's 380million of them... everyone wants to reserve their little quiet corner of the world, don't they?? But I did hear a very interesting factoid once, and that is that every human being on the planet could fit in to Australia with 1acre of land each... go figure???!
Moonfleet41 Yeah mate, but they be fried bread in the outback eh. I think its all relative. We don't have the infrastructure to support a massive increase in population and as for the gov'ment not letting people in there is a large segment of our population ( usually of the right leaning variety, but lets not get into politics here ) who say the gov;ment lets far too many people in each year. For comparison our pop. was about 2 million in 1960. So its more than doubled since then. Good times...Plenty room for more I say !
***** Its the same the world over, the entire population of the planet has doubled since 1965...kinda makes you think we're phuqed if we cant deal with territorial attitudes, governments want to keep thier civilised utopia sacred while the larger population of the world lives in poverty....and yeah, politics maybe...but its so serious i think it will eventually transend politics and become a matter of urgent world crisis... infrastructure can be built, it comes with population, the key is time and controlled expansion....no country can deal with sudden unflux and remain unchanged, from food production to road building it can all work fine, England has proved that, we've become a cultural melting pot and are all the better for it, it just needs to be balanced so it keeps pace with population growth...and when you consider the world population has grown by 200+ while ive been typing this......we have no choise but to share the planet out a bit more farely aye..! i recon 500 years from now there will be no countries or separate nations....that or we'll all have killed each other if we cant tether the maniacs in charge of us all..!
Some nice looking machines there Del, strange thing is that AA bike and side car was actually an old mate of my dad's daily ride when he was an AA man, we went down to check it out with him and they allowed us to check the vin no once he flashed a pic of him riding it along with his old AA credentials, good meet Del, RSM8.
Quite the collection of cars and artifacts. Those crash helmets are unbelievable. Those guys had some brass ballz for sure. Sounds like the BBQ the night before was a gas! Hopefully next year brother ;-)
rmulchi The night before was a damn fine evening... lots of fun and banter and what real bike meets are made for... not to mention, the 50mile ride down to the event the following morning with all the fun of homicidal car drivers and Penny drifting sideways on cattle grids lol ... a true fun weekend!
Del, that sounds fantastic, maybe not the part with Penny skidding on cow crap. Although that is what makes it for a good chat and laughter afterwards. Thanks for sharing the video. Now I have another site to visit next time I find myself over there with a couple of days to spare. Take care, Seattle Rod.
Nice vid,, thanks for sharing. Looks like a nice time. Lots of cool looking bikes and several cars also. Looks like a couple stole some of your ideas, lol. Glad ya had a good time brother. Ride Safe.......
hdfatboy329 Thanks buddy, yeah it was a great day out, and the ride was the best part....plus as always, the bikes in the parkin lot were the best on show..!
RobsPackanShine Hi Rob, good to hear from you... and glad to hear you're gonna buy one of the new Harleys... a chance would be a fine thing over here, Uncle Sam has seen fit to delete the UK from the export list! And in fact, most of Europe as well, we won't be seeing them over here for love nor money, and even my attempts to contact 2 Harley dealers in the US to see if we could import one, they both completely ignored me... which is about right for Harley dealers the world over... don't know what their thinking is, but they've just decided they don't want to sell them to us at any cost...???!! Maybe the bloody nose Triumph has given them in the Sportster sales has led to a bit of sour grapes???!
wow thats awful of harley to do that... i will make sure to tell them so too. Maybe its this democrats who seem to have everything backwards lately...lol
Amazing video of bikes also impressed by those old crash helmets used by the daring greats of the past.....10 out of 10 D. @ P...........................................

***** "Large population"...not really.. is it quiet where you live then..?
Moonfleet41 NZ is apparently slightly larger in land area than the UK and we have about 4.5 million. You guys have what ? 65 million ??
