@sonicloud3149 had some flooding this year that has prevented me from getting back there to finish it. Now that's its summer, I'm able to repair my driveway and get back to working on my projects. I'll have new videos soon.
@sonicloud3149 standard concrete blocks. The fire is on the cement slab. The brick are just a wind block. But rule of thumb is never build a fire on wet concrete.
Here in Australia no one seems to build fireplaces with cement blocks. Everyone says you can only use solid red kiln fired bricks. I've never really believed the red brick myth.
@sonicloud3149 fireplaces in the old days were made of bricks and or concrete blocks. People put out false information to get you to buy expensive items you don't need.
Dadgummet Dave!! Already building the fireplace and now my wife wants one of these too!!
Be glad when all this rain will quit so I can finish it. It's either raining or too cold to do cement work.
Thank you so much for uploading all of these videos! I've been looking to make something just like this! Subscribed!
@@ysyvon I'll have part 3 up in a few days. Be the last in this series.
Wow, so cool!!! Can’t wait for part 2 😊
Looks good.
I can't wait to see Part 2

Hey that sucks. Hopefully your flood repairs don't cost too much. Love your videos man!
Also wondering, are those cement blocks something special that will withstand heat and cracking?

Is the bottom opening area for storage?
It's gonna be to store kindling.
I hope to get back up there soon to finish it. Too much rain this year
Nice, did you make the metal grates?
My dad has a blacksmith forge. He does all my metal work.
This will all look cool when it's done. This is all part of the outdoor kitchen. I'm gonna do it a segments. But I've got some cool stuff coming up.
It looks awesome, I built your fireplace and we love it…maybe this is next!
Johnny cake soprano can it be done
Where’s part 2? Thanks.
Been swamped with work. Haven't had time to get back to my cabin. Hope to have it finished in a few weeks
