Bouncy Fretless Funk Rock Bass Grooves

- Here's a fun jam on my fretless Cortex bass with some bouncy grooves with slides, chords, harmonics, fingerstyle & lobster claw plucking. I'm playing a Swiss Cortex bass with a single Nordstrand Dual Coil pickup, strung up with Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky strings. The woods are maple/walnut with a spalted maple top, these basses are built by excellent French luthier Paul Lairat. I used Darkglass compression & gain, a Rodenberg 707b booster and a Crazy Tube Circuits Time Gold delay pedal. The signal was recorded with the DI from my Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra straight into my audio interface. I recorded the drums with midi pads & Addictive Drums, mixing and mastering was done in Cubase. Working on lots more, thanks for watching!

Try not to dance challenge
This tune is so dope that I got arrested for possession while watching it
one of the very few bassists who i enjoy listening to fretless
"I'M LES CLAYPOOL, AND I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE..."
Wwwwooooooohhhh
Imagine the stuff Remco thinks of that he can't yet play.
dude, i have to say something. while a bass is usually a background instrument for me (unless it was as good as mick karn of Japan fame), i am absolutely blown away by your grooves, tone, chops. any bassist i listen to now must be as amazing as you are. the benchmark for cool. why do you not have a band (maybe they were all too intimidated to have a bassist that good?) however, look at someone like mark king. level 42 is a bass-centric band, and you are easily up there with someone as famous as he is. i dont know why no band surrounds you. do you even have a cd of full tracks available? i shake my head in disbelief when i click on your vidz. truly brilliant musicianship on display.
I've been listening to Remco for about 3 years he's definitely my favorite
Remco you really kill it. You use so much technique so effortlessly, the slap, palm mute and fingering are on point. Add a little fretless slide spicing on top, harmonics, and a bazillion more articulations: you got the already legendary Remco style, and you catch on fire.
All perfect
Very few bassists make interesting solo music. This man is one of them.
Incredible!! 👏👏👏
That bass is beautiful!!
Fretless just has a certain sound to it. I've even heard fretless guitars and they sound so unique as well.

fretless bass is my new favourite instrument
After listening through practically your whole library, I have to say this one is by far one of my favorites, top five at least. Keep up the good work
This is truly like a mad scientist lab but he invents the craziest bass lines.
This bass in particular has some kind of fretless secret sauce. Killer tone for days!
Those little harmonics bits at the end (but not that outro) got me. Crazy stuff having the control to fret a note and a harmonic simultaneously
