Quick question: in my new home I have a T87RF thermostat, which is connected to a BDR91 receiver for controlling the floor heating system. The thermostat is properly connected to the receiver (I can see the Wifi-like icon on the display of the thermostat). However, the leds of the receiver are as follows, even if I putting the desired temperature on the thermostat to 0 degrees: - Green led: always on - Red led: blinking What does it mean?
Hi Ivano, thank you for sharing. The lights seem to indicate that the BDR91 is operating without fully controlled by the thermostat. We recommend resetting the relay and rebinding it with the thermostat. You'll find the reset and bind instructions in this article: support.resideo.com/s/article/How-to-bind-the-Y87RF-Single-Zone-Thermostat-to-the-BDR91-relay?language=en_US. Regards. -Elena
Okay, the thing I don't understand is the green button. Under what circumstances does it come on? For example, the re-pairing process involves the red light flashing slow and then fast but it doesn't mention the green light again. Should it come on? Should it permanently be on in correct operation? Do you have to press the button on the relay once the pairing has been done to put it back on?
Hi Tony, thanks for reaching out to us. The green light should come on by itself when there is a heat demand from the thermostat bound to the boiler relay (i.e. when increasing the target temperature on the thermostat above the room temperature, the thermostat communicates with the boiler relay and the green light should switch on to indicate a call for heat). The button on the relay only serves for binding or resetting the device. So in normal operation, the green light should be on only when the thermostat is calling for heat. Otherwise, it should be off. The button can be pressed once and the green light will come on, however it will switch off after a few moments. -Elena
Great video. Is it possible to have 2 receivers binded to 1 controller? I want to turn an electric radiator on and off when the heating comes on. I realise I need to add another relay.
@@ResideoSupport Hi Elena, thanks for confirming the binding is the same regardless of my location. Now please can you answer the original question " Is it possible to have 2 receivers binded to 1 controller?"
Yes, you can in parallel, If you are also using zone valves just for on / off you can also use their spare switched contacts to help control other parts of your custom circuit depending on your need.
What happens when the lights are off but once you press the button on the right it turns green? Does that mean it is binded but the boiler doesn’t need to be on now?
Hi Jade, thank you for sharing this with us. If the lights are off, but the light goes green after pressing the button, this means that a manual override has been done from the BDR91. If all lights are off, most likely, yes, the boiler does not need to be on. -Elena
Hello, the red light is flashing every second. What does this mean? Currently there is no connection to the thermostat but there was last winter. Thanks
Hi Isla, thank you for sharing. If the red light is flashing, depending on the frequency, it's either in reset mode or in binding mode. Since it's lost connection to the thermostat it most likely in the fail safe mode. -Elena
Hi Isla, if you're tryin to bind it to a thermostat and it fails, we recommend first switching the power off for 10 minutes at the relay, then after switching it back on, reset the relay (15 sec - red light flashes rapidly) then release and put it in binding mode (red light flashes slower). -Elena
Hi, the red LED on mine is flashing on about every 2 secs and then off for 2 secs yet the one wireless controller we have fires up the boiler, is there a problem somewhere?
Hi Simon, this most likely means that it has lost communication with its sensor (thermostat) and it operates in failsafe mode. We would need more info to investigate. Please use this form to contact us www.resideo.com/emea/en/contact-us/ and we'll take it from there. -Elena
Hi on my receiver, the green light is constantly on,but the red light is just flashing, have no heat or water, please any info would be priceless, thankyou.
Hello Andrew, there appears to be a communication error with the thermostat, so re-binding should solve this. If you're still experiencing issue, please contact us following this link : bit.ly/3apJZvx Thanks - Lucian
I have sent Thermostat away to be mended as the screen is breaking up. Ever since it went the Relay has been showing a continuous red light. The boiler is in summer mode and no heating is on . can I turn the electrical connection off at the wall switch until I get the thermostat back for pairing.
Hi John, thank you for contacting us. We recommend you restart the binding procedure with the thermostat, after having reset the relay. Make sure that the thermostat and the relay are about 1 m away. -Elena

Hi Wesley, if the target temperature on the thermostat has been reached or is within 1.5 degrees and it just needs to be maintained, the BDR is going to switch off. -Elena

Is there an over ride button? I’ve got hot water but no heating. The thermostat is connecting to the br91 but it’s not firing the heating up.
Did you manage to find a solution? I’m having the same issue
Same issue as @MinistryofWarhammer & @@eljefe720
This system is just such garbage, every winter similar issues, I am so glad when I get it removed.
Are the binding and troubleshooting operations same for BDR91T as well?
Hi Onur B. Thank you for reaching out. Yes, the binding and troubleshooting operations are the same for both the devices. -Elena

@@ResideoSupport Thanks, that's great. I was seeing the light going out and worrying that *something* was failing somewhere.
If the lights are off and holding the button does nothing then is that a power issue?
Did u find the problem? I have the same issue
If the lights were on and then they go off why would the unit go into standby by itself. Can a remote thermostat force it into standby?

Thank you so much for your video you saved me from calling a plumber out .
If red light is continuous, does this require calling a plumber or not?
The continuous red light indicates a loss of communication with the device it was bound with, and shouldn't require calling a plumber.
What if the lights appear to be working fine but the boiler doesn't fire up ?
