Should I Buy Tissue Culture Figs And Bananas?

Tissue culture figs and bananas are a controversial subject. There are many benefits to purchasing tissue culture plants - they are disease free and often very inexpensive compared to figs grown from cuttings or bananas grown from pups pulled from a mother corm.
But some people are afraid to buy them. There is a belief that figs grown from tissue culture will not fruit for a long time. While less controversial in the banana community, some believe they are slower to grow since the original plant is usually smaller than an established pup.
I want to weigh in on the subject and provide my experience with tissue culture figs and bananas.
