if u have a suggestion always leave a comment because chances are Pekin is gonna read it and play it. Hell he played my suggestions a couple times, notably Jarvan and Darius mid which was awesome. I want him to play Cassiopeia botlane now! pls Bekin
I think this is a great example of why I like/watch Pekin over other League players that also have a lot of skill. Pekin seems to get the most tilted when *HE* makes a mistake. He calls out his own mistakes and takes responsibility. That's super relatable for me when I play. I could be playing against the dumbest Yone but if I screw up I feel a responsibility to my team and that's the most tilting thing. And I think that's a good thing, amongst everyone who blames everyone else constantly. And probably one reason Pekin is so freaking good. I could be assuming or maybe it's just for show but yeah, that's why he's my favorite League creator.
At what times do you freeze and what times do you hard-shove/slow push? I understand there’s certain times but I really want an in-depth explanation of when to do these and why. Edit: Pekin gets his first cannon of the game at 9:30
You freeze when the enemy laner is not a threat and there isn’t an objective you need to go to in the next minute or so. Hard shove when you need to be somewhere else or you’re gonna tower dive. Slow push when you want to stack a ton of minions under the enemy turret such as if there is an objective to go to or you’re diving them.
The point of freezing is to have the minions you normally kill, live. The reason is that if they live they kill your teams minions instead of your laner. So the opportune time to do such a thing is if the opponent is away from lane or if opponent is too afraid to cs because you're too strong. You're just denying cs. Same result can happen by shoving so that the tower kills the minions.
You can also freeze for safety. If the enemy jg or supp isnt visible and you're worried about being ganked you can hold the wave close to your own tower. This forces the enemy to step up far into the lane to cs where they're at risk of being ganked by your team.
One time is if you want to base or not. If your basing it helps to shove out the wave. If you plan to stay in lane it works well to freeze this way you teams minions die faster. Both methods are used to attempt to deny the enemy laner gold and xp
i think knowing when your laner bases and their pushing power helps with your base timers, knowing if they can crash or not and understanding wave states
This is the first time I’ve ever seen a Jayce actually do anything thing in a game. Every Jayce I’ve played with, against, or gameplay I’ve watched has just show him being useless. Glad to see what he hero can do.
I think they should do a mini rework to Jayce so that his damage is backloaded more, I think he would be a lot less toxic of a champion if the "right" way to build him was more bruiser and less assassin.
During the early game ypu spoke about waiting till 2 items spike. Same in chess. I could go for a scholars mate but if it doesn't work out i'm screwed verse a good player. So I wait for a mistake and pounce. Waiting for a mistake that you can capitalize on. Stay up Champ. One Love. "I am the flail of god. Had you not created great sins, god would not have sent a punishment like me upon you." -Genghis Khan
The definitive way to play Jayce is to lose games? So I have been doing it right this whole time! Seriously though good video, you make rolling between Jayce's forms look way easier than it feels whenever I play it
When Yi was diving you bot side you activated W in range form but didn't swap back to melee which is crucial due to the bonus armor in hammer form. Would have been better off switching hammer using hammer W+E allowing for phase rush proc and bonus damage on hammer transform auto into spacing out. But this is a month old video and that small misplay I wanted to point out since it wasn't covered in the video and it is a good example of the micro people complain about when discussing Jayce difficulty.
3 people backing for Viego when only you had TP, and then your Reksai and Amumu stayed on Baron despite Viego getting away really lost the game. It seemed like every single one of your team members was just following the lead of the other, and didn't have a single bone in their body to think about plays on their own.
hey pekin, how do high elo players play against champs like yi and vlad? They're elo killers in low elo and in this game they hard carried it looks like so whats the best way to beat them? is it champ select or does it matter more of how you play?
Yi's biggest weakness are hard ccs and team coordination. Basically save your cc abilities for after his Q, otherwise he'll dodge them. If he's fed, never try to 1v1 him, bring at least 1 teammate and coordinate your ccs if you need to kill him. Look into buying zhonya or thorn mail As for Vlad, it's also a matter of CD plays but he's more vulnerable when his pool is on CD, while yi is still fast and has meditate. Wait for Vlad to use his pool, when he comes out of it is your best chance. Look for Lyandri, demonic embrace, Botrk or anti-healing item
Cc. Winning early. Having good picks that don't get counterer (karthus for instance this game is terrible against both Vlad and yi.) But amumu was great and locked yi down a lot
On the vlad side what could he have done to win the matchup? He seemed to get ahead early but still loses, I struggle against the occasional jayce god i see in my games from time to time and no idea on what I can do after a certain point
So jayce combos are not hard, I would agree with that. But i feel like he has lots of skill matchups. On top moreso than on mid, but still. the importance of using meele e right in certain matchups makes or breaks this champ
Remember when Jayce was only good at early-mid game meaning that he was a counterable champ later on? Kinda wish we could go back to that since he's now better than any mage if doesn't miss every single Q.
i dont know what riot did, but the season before this , i felt like lvl 18 jayce always lost games. But now, it seems so weird - he use to be a a mid game champion only legit - now as long its not a malphite or rammus - you legit can 1v9..
Why do players always say stuff like "level 9 spike" when they talk about maxing abilities? Outside of some champions upgrades between levels are the same, so how is getting the last level a spike? I get it for ultimates since its every 5 levels, but for regular abilities, getting the last upgrade wouldn't be a spike since its the same upgrade as all the ones before AND there's no more after. Idk if I'm wrong abt something or if its just a term.
i think it means that, from player experience, thats when the small window of time begins in which they have a likely advantage over their opponent and can go for plays
Some champs are good immediately like ziggs damage or Zoe. But Jayce q damage is pretty bad until 9 or 11 for rank 5 and 6. So I just am trying to mention that.
hey pekin, i get that youd like to upload a win but it would be nice to see these champs vs a meta matchup or something like that to see how they really fare and to see more realistic things that we can recreate. Also, idk if its just je but i have no problem watching losses if you still had a good game. overall great vid tho!
You're a great content creator and a much better player than me, but I think it's fair to say that this game showed why Jayce is not easy to play. When interactions are kept to E-Qing from two screens or just smashing buttons against someone much weaker than you it can seem that way, but when the opponent actually has kill threat on you it becomes apparent how the opposite is true. The fights against yi and vladimir I believe showed this point. And the problem is that even after you had done so well and gotten so ahead, the deaths were very punishing. Your darius could run it down but each of your deaths changed the game. That's the kind of champ Jayce is. Anyways thanks for the vid, keep it up!
Also, Jayce mid is just way easier to play than Jayce top. You get ganked once playing Jayce top and your game is pretty much over because you tickle tanks and gets run down by every Hullbreaker user.
i like when you post losses pekin, it makes sure i dont know whats going to happen already when i click it. dont feel bad about posting them once in a while :)
Also dont think while playing. To get into a "flow state" or "the zone", have ro put your mind into autopilot. No time to think, only react. Trust yourself and let it happen. Dont fight it, embrace it. Takes alot of practice to maintain intense focus like that for longer than 5 minutes at a time. Distractions our minds constantly look for. Stay frosty.
when i saw yi splitting every time i kinda knew youre gonna lose xd amumu kinda played the game on 2 braincells at thee end. shouldve waited for a better moment instead of playing the simple bait xd he was NOT tanky enough for that xD
TF requires setup, isn’t invulnerable while doing it, can do it once before usually having to back away, requires actual positioning, can’t go in 1v5 and laugh at the idea of dying…. There’s absolutely no way you’re suggesting they’re even close to equally busted
He actually played Jayce after that comment on the last video damn
Thank god needed this

even when he's worlds better than i could ever be Pekin remains relatable by missing every cannon.

Its great to see that you read the comments, if you read this, thanks a bunch for the videos
I look for the negative ones lol
Pekin saying "watch this" at 16:20 and then immediately missing made me laugh so hard 💀 it wasn't even that funny, but it got me good
This is the first Jayce pov vid I've ever watched 😮
Always wanted to pick up jayce as an ad caster pick but i told myself i aint doin it til pekin posts a jayce mid video. TODAY IS THE DAY

That support Amumu deserves a 4 honor for that awesome ult at Baron alone at 19:40 . Awesome teamfight there
Also for losing the game by being overextended 2v5 with baron buff
lol you hitting vlad with e and then getting hit by alistar w right after at 13:55 is kinda funny
HE DID IT BOIS!!!
Thank you BekinWoof.
I’ve been meaning to pick Jayce up for a bit now so this video was super helpful!

No canon minions were harmed in the making of this video.

Pekins mood the last 2 games is indicative of the time of the year. Every December this man has idgaf periods. Same around april.

bro finally a jayce video
I really liked this video ❤ nice job on Jayce
Can you play jayce with opportunity ignite and electrocute? Appears the koreans prefer this set up
so many jayces lost to pekin, he decided to show them how to play jayce.

On the vlad side what could he have done to win the matchup? He seemed to get ahead early but still loses, I struggle against the occasional jayce god i see in my games from time to time and no idea on what I can do after a certain point
Hey Pekin, could you try mid yi? Maybe a lethality build so its more off meta than normal on hit yi.
So jayce combos are not hard, I would agree with that. But i feel like he has lots of skill matchups. On top moreso than on mid, but still. the importance of using meele e right in certain matchups makes or breaks this champ
15:38 you can do that as a mage as well
