Hi I am doing aqa and have been told to focus on gothic features as oppose to links to Victorian society. Does this mean this video’s points are irrelevant
Not at all, Jekyll and Hyde has many Gothic elements to it, including Monstrosity (Atavism), Duality, the Supernatural, the use of non-traditional narration to heighten mystery and suspense and the overall gloomy, decaying setting of Hyde's house as well as the descriptions of London. All of these are discussed in this video and in the character and theme analyses I've done for this series. Hope that helps!
