Cool video!!! When I was in high school my local record store was wanting to discard some records so they had a box outside full of records and a sign on the box that said "$1.00 each." As I was looking through the records I realized that they were all from obscure or unknown bands that I had never heard of. It felt like a "spend a dollar, waste a dollar" kind of a thing and they were selling them cheap just with the hope to get rid of them. For who knows whatever reason I bought this Widowmaker album and figured I was probably just wasting a dollar. When I took it home and started listening to it I was pleasantly surprised and said "Hey wow this is pretty good!" This morning this tune popped into my head (funny how memory is) after years of having forgotten all about it... so I decided to see if it was on YT.
Totally powerhouse...talk about closing my eyes and dreaming my way to times of love and euphoria, pain and sorrow, and all places in between. Let the tears run while the song washes me thin...
when everyone was gushing over Yes ,Genesis,ELP all of whom I liked a bit ,We were listiening to these guys Link Wray and the Trogg's et al down in NYC what a great time...it was...
Never heard this band before. Which is very very sad. Truly amazing stuff. Live for the obscure 'should have's' gonna run down their stuff now. Thanks so much
I was asked by friends to go see ELO at the Universal Amphitheater but I had seen them before and wasn't going to go until I heard that the opening act was going to be Widowmaker, Luther Grosvenor's new band. This album had just come out and there was no way I was going to miss seeing them. Even drunk as hell, Ariel Bender rocked it. I have to add that a lot of these songs sound like they could have been 80's hair metal.
I thought I was the only person in the world that owned both Widowmaker albums. They were...okay..I preferred the 2nd album Too Late to Cry. I was/am a Mott The Hoople fanatic so that lead me to this band via the Ariel Bender connection. I honestly thought the albums would "rock" a bit more since they had the maniac Bender in the band but they were a bit too middle of the road for my tastes. Interesting to find them here on you tube anyway.
great group, seen them supporting Nazareth in 1976 in Glasgow. A great night all round
i was there too - if you remember there was an IRA bomb hoax that night. was lucky enough to chat with AB in the lane after gig - good daze....
Doesn't get any better than these guys. Love it
Saw these in the 70's supporting Uriah Heep , took a long time for my ears to recover after these to Bands. Bought this album and "Too late to Cry"
Ótima banda ! Adoro Widowmaker !

Great song, perfect for highway driving.
So wonderful to hear from other fans of the music we grew up with and still love so much! Thanks for watching and commenting, jason bailey.

Nice song for these spring days ...
Awesome video and song! I like how that sunrises at the beginning. This band reminds me a just little of The Black Crowes. *******
Bought this album on vinyl in '76 after seeing them open for the Who at Swansea Football Club.
seen them at the same time where they opened for the who at celtic park - four of us there all Rangers diehards !!!!
Great video as usual. I'm surprised I've not heard them also. Love it!
