I’ve seen a few people say to add salt, and as someone who used to make ice cream for a living, I’m telling you salt is THE secret to delicious ice cream. It makes it so balanced and way more enjoyable than the sickly sweet it can sometimes be.
I think mixing the crushed candy into the base and then pouring it back into the wrapper to freeze would help to balance everything. I might have to try out this recipe.
Pour the crushed candy into the icecream base. Mix well., then pour it back into the wrapper. This will ensure even distribution of candy through the base. And you can control the desired amount of candy. I love this idea and will try it. ANOTHER GR8 VIDEO❤❤❤
Yes good idea there. I'd get some favorite brand vanilla ice cream and soften it a little then stir in some candy bar and pour back into the bar wrapper to re-freeze. I'm thinking it would be way less sweet than the sweetened condensed milk version. Try using only 1/2 of the mint chip bar crushed and then mix with ice cream and pour back into that wrapper. I'm loving all of her interesting experiments with foods she comes up with. Like her I'm always thinking of different ways to prepare recipes.
@@Conformist138 You guys sure about this? I feel like I just saw them recently in a convenient store. I wrestled with the purchase because I didn't want to have to deal with ice cream... I've gotta look this up now...
What we do in our house, we use the same base as you, we have found its more tasty. We freeze the ice cream to get it a tad solid but not frozen. Once we achieve that, we crush the candies, mix them into the ice cream and put them in our molds. Its almost the same as you however the mix is better and it does not settle in the bag and its so much fun to do with the grandkids EXCEPT they think everything should be done as soon as they want it and do not want to wait SO if doing with kids, do a set night before so they have the fun of doing it and not having to wait. you'll save you a ton of "are they ready yet"...
I made 4 of these last night. First off, they are decadently delicious. The best one was actually the oreo (my son's favorite is cookies and cream). I doubled the milk mixture since I wasn't sure how many one batch would fill. I wound up with a lot extra, to which I added crushed graham crackers and chocolate syrup swirls and froze in a bowl. Sooo many calories but worth it for a treat. Thanks for another great video, Emmy! ❤
What a fun idea! I think I would open the candy bar, cut it in half right down the middle, put both halves back in the wrapper, and pour the ice cream in over the top. That way, you are guaranteed to get equal amounts of candy bar in each bite. You can then stick the stick down the middle, and having the candy bar intact the length of the ice cream will give it more support to remain straight.
Love this idea, I was thinking as I was listening to it that if you use a waffle cone and only part of the candy bar you can stretch the candy bars out not have it so sweet and the waffle cone would be edible so it would be like the drumsticks that we ate as kids.
I can't wait to try this Emmy !! And yes I seen Tigga do this too!! I love that you always share where you seen something. It's just very respectful imo
yummm ice cream bars🤤 i just discovered the korean ice cream bars melona, we didnt have that in quebec but my grocery store now has them and it is the best thing ive ever eaten in my life, the honeydew ones 😍 i will try this recipe with the strawberry aero, yummmm ❤
I’m ready to run out of my house at 10pm to get the ingredients and make these bad boys ❤ mouth watering. I think KitKat and Cadberry Carmelo bars is what I’m going for and maybe Reesie’s peanut butter cups❤
it would be great if you chopped the candy bar and mixed them with the ice cream and then pour it into the molds. That way it's all nicorporated top to bottom.. I made this ice cream and chopped up oreo double stuff and also the vanilla oreo double stuff. Talk about rich!! Talk about delicious!
i also do this ice cream base recipe! and what i find when adding pieces of chocolate, or broken biscuit etc, it tends to sink to the bottom! even when adding half base, half pieces, still sinks! hopefully when you try it again and try with it tipped out half, it may work! love your videos ❤
Hmmm. Very tempted to make your no churn base, crush a candybar into it, then freeze it in a loaf tin. The whole popsicle thing is so cute and it's a charming idea, but seems a bit messy and finicky. I have never really bothered making icecream before since affordable ice cream better than I can do isn't too had to come by, but this is cool!
I think it might work better if you used the little bathroom Dixie cups and popsicle sticks as you would be able to better mix the candy with the base mix. Quickly dip the cup in hot water to unmold. Or simply eat from the cup with a spoon.
I like adding a healthy dash of salt to that ice cream base to soften the sweetness… one of my fav combo’s was the whipped ice cream base with crunchy peanut butter and strawberry jam (jelly) great flavour ice cream 😋 and so easy
For the long candies in skinny wrappers, use a little bit of candy bar and ice cream base in a disposable cup like you put in the bathroom for the kids to brush their teeth. Works great
Can confirm as an Australian, i used a crunchy bar and because its honeycomb it is easier to mix with the icecream base. Its lighter so it doesnt sink to the bottom. Soooooo delicious
To fix the uneven distribution of the ice cream base, you could always carefully remove the candy bar from its wrapper to a bowl, crush it, mix the ice cream base into the crushed candy bar, then pipe it back into the wrapper using a piping bag. Then insert the stick and freeze.
We always do our candy bar ice cream and small glass cups. We crush the candy bars then add the milk and cream ice cream base to the cups and mix in the candy bar broken pieces. We learned years ago with it doing it in the rapper doesn't work or last.
An almost 20 second unskipable ad right at the start? Yeah no thanks. Pro Tip for mobile users: If you don't want to watch a long ad, or unskipable ad, just replay the video over and over until it plays the actual content you want to see. I know you have to make money, but I'm just gonna refresh the video until it starts playing so i can avoid that nonsense. Thank you for your content, I really do enjoy it.
Emmy , you have no idea how much I appreciate you and your videos. I just had a bit of a depressive episode right before I watched this , and you just completely melt away my anxiety and worries. Thank you so much for just being you 🫶🏻
i always look forward to Emmy & her videos 🥹💕 i wanna see you test out foreign candies again like you used to , they were definitely my fav thing to binge at nights!
Sweet, Delicious ice cream bars and I love eating dessert yes I know is the summertime.!!!! 😋🍦🍫🍬🍨 Fun ingredients to make ice cream and I don't care about the brain freeze 🥶
Trying the method with Whoppers box might work and no need to crush just empty half the balls out and pour, and you have a Whopper balls ice cream bar..
we use to make homemade icecream every summer in our electric churner and our two flavors were Vanilla with crushed butter finger and Orange Crush Pineapple
I think Kit Kat would be a great fit because it has a wide and it is not caramel so it would not stick together as much! Also, those mini m and m's inside the plastic container would also be awesome to try!
Just dump out the crushed candy, pour in some ice cream mix, add a couple pinches of candy and keep rotating back and forth until full. Once fully Frozen, briefly run wrapper under cool water and quickly pull wrapper off from the end, then enjoy! 🤗🤗
@Tigga_Mac is an Australian cake decorating lady in Melbourne my home city, and yes I saw her make these, glad you did different ones Emmy, great video
I never seen someone tasting their own creation with that expression but then it must be chocolate only with no ice cream as you'd expect it to be. Very clever, super sweet! #Emmymade #CandyIcecreambars #Chocolatebrand #Butterfingerbar #Chrunchbar #Twixbar #Heathbar #Andysmintbar #MrGoodbar #2023 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
14:18 (just sounds like barf) or 14:17 for the full word. I’m commenting again because A) won’t hurt your interactions and B) I busted out laughing during the slight pause after you said mr.goodbar because I swear I heard Mr. “Goodbarf” 😂
I would cool the bars down or freeze them so that they will really crush, esp. the Butterfinger and Twix. Or take the candy bar out and cut it with a knife.
I would’ve poured the whole candy bar into a bowl and then poured the ice cream mix and it mixed it all together and then poured it back into the wrapper
Use a popsicle mold. That way you can remove the candy bars and crush them throughly to incorporate. Alternatively you could even mix some of the candy bar flavors. They’re very messy as is. Awesome idea nonetheless!!!
Just a thought......if you were making multiple of the same one empty all the candy in one bowl after crushing it and then mix it with the ice cream batter and then pour back in the wrapper for even distribution before freezing. 😊
Pour the ice cream mix into small bowls, add the crumbled bars and put into an old fashioned plastic ice tray. The cubes will pop right out. Put cubes into bowl and enjoy.
How do you think it would work if you whipped the cream and folded in the sweetened condensed milk? Paperclips wouldn't be good in whipped cream, though.
I think I'd rather take the time and effort to put these in popsicle molds, you would be able to mix the candy better with the ice cream base. But it was still a good idea. Thanks Emmy!
Idk the fuss of having to push down the ice cream base down the delicate wrapper and taking care not to rip and having to make sure the chocolate is well mixed inside it.... Id just do the popsicle mold tbh 😅
Your kids must love when you do these kinds of videos!
I’ve seen a few people say to add salt, and as someone who used to make ice cream for a living, I’m telling you salt is THE secret to delicious ice cream. It makes it so balanced and way more enjoyable than the sickly sweet it can sometimes be.
Thank you for sharing! I'd love to try it with crushed Reese's peanut butter cups, I think the salt would go especially nicely with those flavors!
I think mixing the crushed candy into the base and then pouring it back into the wrapper to freeze would help to balance everything. I might have to try out this recipe.
Yes, that would have been better. I would skip the stick entirely and use another container like a ramekin.
I literally came to say this exact thing ^^
I was thinking the same!
Yes then you can periodically stir it so the candy won't settle kind of like putting fruit
Thats how I do it and its spread evently
Pour the crushed candy into the icecream base. Mix well., then pour it back into the wrapper. This will ensure even distribution of candy through the base. And you can control the desired amount of candy. I love this idea and will try it. ANOTHER GR8 VIDEO❤❤❤
I actually have some popsicle molds somewhere and have made no churn ice cream before this ... inspiration strikes.
Yes good idea there. I'd get some favorite brand vanilla ice cream and soften it a little then stir in some candy bar and pour back into the bar wrapper to re-freeze. The variable volume of the wrappers is half the problem. Popsicle molds are cheap and would work way better.
This is the way. 👍
Back in the 90’s I believe Nestlie used to make Butterfinger ice cream bars. You unlocked a childhood memory! ☺️
There are still Twix and Snickers bars like that. Not sure why Butterfinger didn't survive.
@@Conformist138 You guys sure about this? I feel like I just saw them recently in a convenient store. I wrestled with the purchase because I didn't want to have to deal with ice cream... I've gotta look this up now...
Damn... they gone!

These still exist

OMG!!! The second Ithaca Is Gorges shirt I've seen today. Ithaca is one of my favorite places!!!
We will always support you no matter what. Keep up the good work as always.
My mother loves Butterfinger and I usually make the no-churn ice cream base and mix crush butterfingers in it for her.
I made 4 of these last night. First off, they are decadently delicious. The best one was actually the oreo (my son's favorite is cookies and cream). I used to make retainers out of gum and paper clips. What fun recipes. Thanks, Emmy ❣️
😂 I did the same thing! 😂
What a fun video ❤

These look sooooo good! I wonder what 100 Grand would taste/look like? Seems like the perfect candy for this application! 😍
I would freeze 100 Grand first because of the Carmel.
I can't wait to try this Emmy !! And yes I seen Tigga do this too!! I love that you always share where you seen something. It's just very respectful imo
That shirt is everything! Truly gorges!
I love Ithaca so much! Fun small town, lots of nature and hiking, plus an amazing Cambodian food stall at the farmers market. We go every summer.
💛...it might be possible with small bagged nuts...almonds or peanuts etc...
...or any small bagged snacks...
Yummm. Heath or Skor!
Gotta say as someone from upstate NY I love your shirts lately :)
Ice cream base, some of the crushed candy bits and add that mixture to a waffle cone.
my grandma used to put her chocolate bar in the freezer during the summer, just the chocolate bar, i still do it sometime its refreshing!
When you take it out of the freezer, dip it in peanut butter. 😋

it would be great if you chopped the candy bar and mixed them with the ice cream and then pour it into the molds. That way it's all nicorporated top to bottom.. I made this ice cream and chopped up oreo double stuff and also the vanilla oreo double stuff.
Talk about rich!!
Talk about delicious!
Emmy love that shirt lol😊 love Ithaca too since I live here for 20 yrs now...and love watching your channel coolness !

LOVE this! Thank you for the tutorial. We have a "cooking camp" at home and this will be perfect for my kiddos.💚
Ithaca is indeed gorges! Love my summer trips into the finger lakes🥰
Love the Ithaca is Gorges shirt!

I have an ice maker so vanilla ice with candy bars crushed up into it was always a hit with my kids.
This is an interesting way to accomplish it.
Growing up in Puerto Rico when you ordered a vanilla sunday at Mc Donalds, you could ask for caramel, hot fudge and peanuts as toppings!
Was scrolling through FB and saw Emmy in a short on the crunch bar. I wanna make that. It sounds so yummy. Can't wait to try this.

Violet Crumble 💜

Violet Crumble with vanilla!!! Yum!!! 😋
feel like a popsicle mould would do wonders. pre-mix the candy bar and icecream mixture, pour it in, etc

Butterfinger and mr good bar my fave
By the Way, a Crunchy bar really doesn't crumble easily at all. It's rock hard, very dense.
I bet a Flake would be really good for this
